The result no longer leads the category: Nürburgring’s current listing shows a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit at 6:55.533, set on April 15, 2026.
What was the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s Nürburgring lap time?
The production SU7 Ultra completed the Nordschleife in 7:04.957 on April 1, 2025. Nürburgring lists Vincent Radermecker as the driver and places the car in the Electric Executive Cars category. Xiaomi describes it as a production-electric-vehicle record at the time of the run. Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra record page and Nürburgring’s official record listing identify the result.
The production car’s record configuration included the optional Professional Track Package, a carbon-fiber dual-vent front hood and an aerodynamic underbody plate, according to Xiaomi. Those details matter: the recorded time belongs to that car and configuration on the day, not to every SU7 Ultra in ordinary road use.
Does the SU7 Ultra still hold the production EV record?
No. The Xiaomi’s 7:04.957 remains a listed 2025 result, but Nürburgring’s current Electric Executive Cars table places a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit ahead of it. Porsche’s 6:55.533 lap was set by Lars Kern on April 15, 2026, according to Nürburgring’s announcement and the official record listing.

The Porsche’s time is 9.424 seconds quicker than the Xiaomi’s. Nürburgring describes it as more than nine seconds faster than the previous luxury electric-vehicle category record. These are category results, not a claim that one lap predicts how the cars compare in every road or track condition.
How does the SU7 Ultra Prototype time compare?
The often-cited 6:22.091 is a different result: it belongs to the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype, driven by David Pittard on April 1, 2025. It is not the production SU7 Ultra’s lap and should not be treated as the production-car record. Xiaomi and Nürburgring list the prototype separately from the production entry. Xiaomi’s account, the Nürburgring listing and Xiaomi Corporation’s 2025 Q2 report distinguish the two times.

The prototype’s 6:22.091 is 42.866 seconds quicker than the production car’s 7:04.957, but the figures describe different vehicles. For an apples-to-apples record comparison, use the production SU7 Ultra entry and compare it with other cars in the same Nürburgring category.

Nürburgring describes a full Nordschleife lap as 20.8 km, measured from a flying start. Its published procedure includes calibrated timekeeping, a notary for official attempts, and a vehicle conformity check documented by TÜV Rheinland. The circuit’s stated principle is “one track, one complete lap, one time – according to uniform standards.” See the official record-drive procedure.

The Porsche announcement gives the later Manthey-equipped Taycan lap’s circuit distance as 20.832 km. Nürburgring’s general procedure describes the course as 20.8 km; those figures are the distances each source states, and should not be silently substituted for one another.
