2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Stingray is the entry point to the mid-engine Corvette family and the version that most closely represents the core C8 formula: a naturally aspirated V8, rear-wheel drive, and two seats in a mid-engine sports-car layout. Chevrolet lists the 6.2-liter LT2 V8 at up to 495 horsepower, with a manufacturer-claimed 2.9-second 0–60-mph time and an 11.2-second quarter-mile.
Every 2026 Stingray uses an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between a coupe with a removable roof panel and a convertible with a power-retractable hardtop. Available Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0 can add adjustable suspension control, while the available Z51 Performance Package is aimed at buyers who want additional performance equipment rather than a purely comfort-oriented specification.
Stingray trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT

2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray
E-Ray is the Corvette for buyers who value traction and instant front-axle assistance. It combines the 6.2-liter V8 with an electric drive unit on the front axle, producing 655 combined horsepower. Chevrolet claims 2.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph, a 10.5-second quarter-mile, and a 183-mph track top speed.
The E-Ray is available as both a coupe and a convertible, with 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ equipment levels. Its defining feature is electrified all-wheel drive: the gasoline engine continues to power the rear wheels while the front motor can provide additional propulsion. That makes E-Ray fundamentally different from Stingray even though both use the LT2 6.2-liter V8.
E-Ray is also different from a plug-in hybrid or an electric vehicle. Chevrolet does not describe it as fully electric, and it retains a gasoline V8 rather than relying on external charging as its primary energy source. Its all-wheel-drive system can improve launch traction and broaden its all-weather positioning, but all-wheel drive does not eliminate the need for appropriate tires, sensible speeds, and local-weather preparation. A performance car on summer tires is not automatically a suitable winter car simply because it has all-wheel drive.
Who should choose E-Ray? Choose E-Ray when the appeal of the Corvette includes stronger launches, electric front-axle assistance, and greater traction flexibility. It is the middle ground between the rear-drive Stingray and the track-focused models: quicker than Stingray on Chevrolet’s figures, but less singularly focused on engine character than Z06 and less extreme than ZR1 or ZR1X.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Z06 is the naturally aspirated, track-focused Corvette. Its 5.5-liter LT6 V8 uses a flat-plane crankshaft and produces 670 horsepower. Chevrolet describes the model as a street-legal track car developed with the Corvette GT3.R program and lists a 2.6-second 0–60-mph time plus a 10.6-second quarter-mile at 131 mph.
The Z06 remains rear-wheel drive and is offered in coupe and convertible body styles. Its equipment levels are 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ. The key reason to buy one is not simply the number 670; it is the character and response of a high-revving naturally aspirated flat-plane-crank V8 combined with the model’s track-development focus.

That distinction matters when comparing Z06 with ZR1. The Z06 does not have the ZR1’s twin turbochargers or its 1,064-horsepower output. Instead, it represents the strongest non-hybrid naturally aspirated engine experience in the 2026 Corvette lineup. Who should choose Z06? ZR1 is the high-output, twin-turbocharged flagship that sends its power through the rear wheels. Its 5.5-liter LT7 V8 produces 1,064 horsepower, according to Chevrolet. The published figures are 2.3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and a 9.6-second quarter-mile at 150 mph.
ZR1 is available as a coupe or convertible, with 2LZ and 3LZ equipment levels. The important comparison is with ZR1X: standard ZR1 concentrates the LT7’s output through the rear axle and does not add a front electric motor. ZR1X uses the same basic engine but adds electrified front-wheel drive for even greater combined output and launch traction.
Who should choose ZR1? ZR1 is for the buyer who wants the maximum V8 output without the front electric drive system. It offers the extreme power of the LT7 while preserving the more traditional rear-drive configuration. That makes it a distinct choice rather than merely a less expensive ZR1X.
2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X
ZR1X is new for 2026 and sits at the top of Chevrolet’s Corvette performance hierarchy. It combines the ZR1’s 1,064-horsepower, twin-turbocharged LT7 V8 with a front electric motor rated at 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet lists 1,250 combined horsepower, a 1.89-second 0–60-mph time, and an 8.99-second quarter-mile at 157 mph.

Those are the most aggressive published numbers in the range, but the ZR1X is more than a larger power figure. Chevrolet says the front drive unit retains the E-Ray unit’s basic shape and size while using strengthened internal components and revised energy deployment. Compared with the E-Ray’s front unit, the ZR1X motor produces 26 more horsepower and 20 more lb-ft of torque. The front axle can continue applying power through 160 mph before disconnecting.
The model also adds track-oriented energy strategies called Endurance, Qualifying, and Push-to-Pass. Chevrolet’s original announcement described the acceleration and quarter-mile performance as GM estimates of under two seconds and under nine seconds; the current lineup information provides the more precise 1.89-second and 8.99-second figures used here.
Who should choose ZR1X? Choose ZR1X if the shortest published acceleration time, the highest published power rating, and the additional traction of electrified all-wheel drive matter more than purchase price, powertrain complexity, or the appeal of a rear-drive-only car. At $227,500 before fees and options, it occupies a very different part of the market from Stingray.

What changed across the 2026 Corvette lineup?
A redesigned driver-focused interior
The most visible range-wide update for 2026 is the cabin. Chevrolet says the entire Corvette lineup receives a redesigned driver-focused interior with three displays:
- A 12.7-inch center display for infotainment functions.
- A 14-inch driver information center.
- A new 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen to the left of the steering wheel.
The center console was reconfigured, the drive-mode selector moved closer to the gear selector, wireless phone charging was integrated below the infotainment display, and the HVAC controls moved beneath the center screen. These changes apply across the range, although exact trim equipment, materials, and availability can differ between Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, ZR1, and ZR1X.
Chevrolet also added new interior colors and material combinations, including asymmetrical Jet Black and Adrenaline Red, Sky Cool and Medium Ash Gray with Habanero accents, Santorini Blue, Very Dark Atmosphere, and Ultimate Suede configurations. They are not all standard or available on every model and trim, so buyers should confirm the combination in the official configurator rather than treating the list as universal equipment.

PTM Pro for track use
Another important change is PTM Pro, which Chevrolet says is new across the 2026 Corvette range. It turns off traction and stability control while retaining functions such as regenerative-brake torque vectoring, front-axle pre-control, and launch-control customization. The feature is particularly consequential on the high-performance models and on the ZR1X, where energy management is part of extracting repeatable track performance.
PTM Pro should be understood as a closed-course tool, not as a setting for experimenting on public roads. Turning off stability and traction aids reduces the electronic safety net and places more responsibility on the driver, tires, surface, and conditions.

These are starting MSRP figures, not guaranteed transaction prices or out-the-door totals. Chevrolet’s model pages state that MSRP excludes destination freight, tax, title, license, dealer fees, and optional equipment. The dealer sets the final transaction price.
The final number can rise substantially with a higher equipment level, convertible body style, performance packages, carbon-fiber options, premium paint, interior upgrades, or other options. A $70,000 Stingray and a heavily optioned 3LT convertible are therefore not equivalent purchase propositions, just as a base ZR1 and a highly specified track-oriented example may have very different totals.

ZR1 and ZR1X pricing deserves particular caution because Chevrolet’s online content has been changing as newer 2027 material appears in the site navigation. Earlier cached Chevrolet results showed a different ZR1 starting price of $185,000, while the current lineup page used for this article lists $197,700. The current listed ZR1X price is $227,500. Treat those figures as live manufacturer listings rather than permanent promises, and verify the price in Chevrolet’s current configurator or with a dealer immediately before purchase.

There is no single universally best model. The answer depends on whether you value price, naturally aspirated engine character, all-wheel-drive traction, rear-drive purity, or outright acceleration. The E-Ray is not simply an upgraded Stingray, and the ZR1X is not simply a ZR1 with a cosmetic package: their front electric drive systems materially change how the power reaches the road.
Ownership considerations after purchase
A Corvette’s price does not end at the window sticker. Before ordering, obtain an insurance quote—especially for the ZR1 and ZR1X, whose starting prices approach or exceed $200,000. Corvette insurance availability, premiums, agreed-value terms, mileage restrictions, and storage requirements vary by driver, location, insurer, and vehicle use, so no general savings or coverage promise should be assumed.
Storage and care also deserve planning. If the car will spend extended periods in a garage, a properly fitted C8 Corvette car cover can be considered for dust and storage protection; choose one compatible with the exact coupe or convertible body style and follow the manufacturer’s care instructions. A cover is not a substitute for a clean, dry storage environment.
Owners who leave a car parked for long periods may also research an automotive battery maintainer. Chevrolet does not require a particular product based on the information here, and owners should follow the vehicle manual and safe charging instructions rather than connecting an unsuitable device indefinitely.
For performance-oriented use, a portable automotive tire inflator can make checking and adjusting pressures more convenient. Use the pressure information and procedures specified by Chevrolet, and do not treat a portable inflator as permission to change tire pressures arbitrarily for street driving or track use.
