Turo Now Lets U.S. Guests Rent Tesla Cars With FSD (Supervised)

Turo’s new Tesla integration lets U.S. guests find and book vehicles with verified FSD (Supervised), but drivers must remain fully attentive and rental prices vary by listing.

Starting October 28, 2026, guests in the United States can search and book Tesla vehicles on Turo with Tesla’s FSD (Supervised) driver-assistance feature verified through a direct Tesla API connection. The integration is designed to show when a listed car has an active FSD subscription, but it does not make the Tesla autonomous: the driver must watch the road continuously and be ready to take control.

Turo says thousands of FSD-enabled Teslas are already on its marketplace. Rental prices, insurance totals, deposits, mileage limits and the number of qualifying listings were not included in the launch announcement, so each vehicle page remains the source for trip-specific terms.

What changed with Turo’s Tesla FSD launch?

Turo announced on October 26, 2026, that its U.S. marketplace would begin supporting search, discovery and booking for Tesla vehicles with FSD (Supervised) activated. Turo describes the direct API integration with Tesla as its first verified Tesla FSD (Supervised) rental experience.

Under the system, a host links the vehicle’s Tesla account to Turo. If Tesla shows an active FSD (Supervised) subscription, Turo can confirm that status and automatically feature it in search results and on the listing. Hosts no longer need to buy a paid Extra or create a custom vehicle feature simply to advertise FSD.

The announcement is limited to the United States for guests. It does not provide launch dates for Canada, Europe, Australia or other markets.

How do I find and book a Turo Tesla with FSD?

  1. Search Turo after October 28, 2026. Enter your U.S. trip dates and location, then look for Tesla listings identified as having verified FSD (Supervised).
  2. Open the vehicle listing. Confirm that FSD appears in the listing’s feature information rather than assuming every Tesla includes it.
  3. Read the host’s trip terms. Check the listed price, mileage allowance, pickup rules, insurance choices, deposits and cancellation conditions. Turo did not publish standard FSD rental pricing.
  4. Review Tesla’s FSD (Supervised) documentation. Turo directs guests to Tesla’s safety information before pickup.
  5. Confirm the feature at handover. If the listing no longer shows the advertised capability or the vehicle’s software status differs, raise the discrepancy with the host and Turo before driving.

Is Tesla FSD actually self-driving?

No. Tesla calls FSD “FSD (Supervised)” and states that it is an advanced driver-assistance system for use only with a fully attentive driver. It does not turn a Tesla into a fully autonomous vehicle.

Tesla says the system can, under supervision, make lane changes, select forks along a navigation route, navigate around other vehicles and objects, and make left and right turns. The driver remains responsible for speed, steering control and the vehicle’s operation at all times. A renter cannot sleep, watch a phone or otherwise hand responsibility to the software.

Do I have to pay extra for FSD on a Turo rental?

There is no separate, standardized FSD charge in Turo’s launch materials. A host may reflect the vehicle’s equipment and subscription costs in the trip price, but Turo has not published a universal surcharge, daily rate or subscription pass-through. Compare the complete price and terms on each listing.

For comparison, Tesla’s support information lists an FSD (Supervised) subscription at $99 per month, subject to change, along with Tesla-controlled demo-drive and subscription routes. That monthly price is not a Turo rental price and does not establish what a particular trip will cost.

How does Turo’s verification compare with trying FSD through Tesla?

Consideration Turo rental Tesla route
Access One booked trip in a host’s qualifying vehicle Demo-drive options or an owner subscription
Verification Host links the Tesla account; Turo verifies active FSD through a direct API integration Tesla controls eligibility, vehicle software and account access
Cost transparency Host- and trip-specific; launch materials state no standard rental rate Tesla lists $99 per month for the subscription, subject to change
Driver responsibility Fully attentive driver must monitor and take over Fully attentive driver must monitor and take over
Geographic scope U.S. guest launch announced for October 28, 2026 Demo and subscription availability depends on Tesla’s eligibility and jurisdiction rules

A Turo booking is therefore a short-term way to experience a verified vehicle without buying one. Tesla’s own options provide access through Tesla’s account and eligibility systems instead of a rental reservation.

What does this mean for Tesla renters and hosts?

For renters

  • Do not infer FSD availability from the Tesla badge alone; look for the verified feature on the specific listing.
  • Plan for continuous supervision throughout the trip, including during turns, lane changes and navigation decisions.
  • Use the listing—not a general marketplace assumption—to establish price, mileage, insurance and deposit terms.

For hosts

Turo says eligible U.S. hosts may receive a complimentary one-month FSD (Supervised) subscription beginning November 16, 2026. The stated conditions include an eligible AI4 vehicle, ownership rather than a lease, a Tesla listed or snoozed on Turo in the United States or Canada, a linked Tesla account, at least one completed Turo host trip, and no active or newly paid subscription under Turo’s cutoff rules. Hosts should check the current eligibility terms because the offer is conditional.

Why is Turo adding verified FSD listings now?

Turo’s 2026 company research reports that 55% of Americans interested in travel are interested in driverless technology, rising to 71% among Gen Z. More than one-fifth of interested Americans said they would be comfortable spending seven or more hours in a self-driving car. Those figures describe interest in the company’s survey; they do not mean respondents consider supervised assistance equivalent to autonomous driving.

Tesla demand is already significant on the marketplace: Turo says Model 3 ranked third and Model Y fourth among its vehicle models year to date in 2026. CEO Andre Haddad called the Tesla integration an “industry-first” example of changing access to rental cars, while emphasizing the demand for driver-assistance experiences.

What is still unknown before you reserve?

  • Turo has not stated daily or weekly FSD rental rates.
  • The announcement does not provide insurance totals, deposits, mileage limits or an exact count of verified listings.
  • No expansion date beyond the United States has been announced for guests.
  • The materials do not establish whether a vehicle can lose its FSD status between booking and pickup or specify a universal remedy; check the listing and contact Turo if its advertised feature is missing.

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I book a Tesla with verified FSD on Turo?

Turo says U.S. guests can search and book qualifying Tesla vehicles beginning October 28, 2026. Availability will depend on the trip location, dates and the host’s vehicle listing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can I assume a Model 3 or Model Y has FSD?

No. Turo’s popularity figures for those models do not indicate that every example has FSD. Verify the feature on the individual listing and confirm it at pickup.

What should I do if the Tesla’s FSD status is different at pickup?

Do not begin the trip assuming the feature will appear later. Document the discrepancy, contact the host and use Turo support to ask what options apply under the reservation’s terms.
