What Rad Power said about a possible shutdown
In November 2025, Electrek reported that a Washington WARN notice covered 64 remaining Rad Power headquarters positions. The company characterized the notices as precautionary and said it had not made a final decision. A spokesperson told Electrek on November 10, 2025: “No final decisions have been made, and these notices are precautionary. Rad’s leadership is actively pursuing all viable options to keep the company operating.” That statement reflected the company’s position at the time; it did not guarantee that operations would continue. What happened after the warning
January 2026: auction, with approval still pending
Rad Power’s assets went to auction on January 22, 2026. TechCrunch reported on January 26 that Life Electric Vehicles Holdings won with a $13.2 million bid plus liabilities, for a reported total bid value of $14.9 million. At the time of that report, court approval was still pending, so the auction result should not be confused with the later completed acquisition. February 27, 2026: assets acquired through bankruptcy sale
Rad Life Mobility’s audited financial-statement notes say it acquired Rad Power Bikes’ assets through a Section 363 bankruptcy sale on February 27, 2026. The assets were primarily the Rad Power brand, intellectual property, inventory, and certain operating assets. The filing says Rad Life assumed certain gift-card and warranty liabilities; it does not establish that every prior customer obligation transferred. Rad Life Mobility’s audited filing sets out the acquisition and the liabilities it assumed.

Did the Rad Power business disappear?
The bankruptcy sale changed ownership, but the audited filing does not describe the brand as simply disappearing. Rad Life says it operates a business that markets, sells, and supports electric bicycles, accessories, replacement parts, and apparel under the Rad Power brand. That is evidence of a continuing business under new ownership, not proof that every product, service, or customer obligation remained unchanged.
The filing does not establish an individual customer’s warranty eligibility, how a particular repair request will be handled, whether a gift card can be redeemed, or which models and parts are currently available. Owners should confirm those details directly with the current business before relying on a warranty, ordering a replacement part, or making a safety-related repair.

What the new owner’s financial statements show
Rad Life Mobility reported $7,000,756 in revenue and a net loss of $2,051,625 from its February 19, 2026 inception through June 30, 2026. Its auditor’s report is dated August 10, 2026. These are historical results for the new company over that stated period; they do not establish its finances after June 30 or predict how long it will continue operating. The figures appear in Rad Life Mobility’s audited financial statements.

- Warranty: Ask whether the specific bike, purchase date, and issue qualify under the current policy; the filing only identifies certain warranty liabilities assumed.
- Gift cards: Confirm current redemption status and any restrictions rather than assuming all prior cards are honored.
- Repairs and parts: Check current support channels, model compatibility, and stock before arranging a repair or buying a replacement component.
- Battery or safety concern: Verify compatibility and any applicable safety or recall information for the exact model before using a replacement battery.
