Its 6.5-litre V12 produces 750 hp, and Lamborghini quoted a 0–100 km/h time of 2.8 seconds and a 355 km/h top speed for the coupé. The manufacturer’s later count is 13 cars worldwide across coupé and Roadster versions. Original prices were €3 million before tax for the coupé and €3.3 million before tax for the Roadster; those launch prices are not current valuations.
What is the Lamborghini Veneno?
Lamborghini introduced the Veneno in 2013 to mark its 50th anniversary. The company described it as a racing-prototype-inspired design focused on aerodynamics and cornering stability, while also stating that it was fully homologated for road use. That is the manufacturer’s description, not a claim of independent performance testing. Lamborghini’s model-history page includes official Veneno imagery; publication or reuse of its photos is subject to applicable image rights and permissions.
The name covers two body styles: an enclosed coupé and an open-top Roadster without a roof. Their headline power and top speed are the same, while their production counts, original prices and quoted acceleration differ.
Veneno specifications
Lamborghini’s 2013 coupé launch specification lists a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre, 12-cylinder engine producing 552 kW (750 hp), paired with a seven-speed ISR transmission and permanent all-wheel drive. The car has five driving modes.

The coupé specification also includes a carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) monocoque and outer skin, pushrod suspension with horizontal spring-and-damper units, and interior components made with Lamborghini’s Forged Composite and CarbonSkin materials. The model-history page highlights the visible carbon-fibre monocoque, Forged Composite seats and CarbonSkin cockpit.
How the Veneno’s design is intended to work
Lamborghini presented the Veneno’s dramatic bodywork as functional rather than purely theatrical. The manufacturer says the front bodywork, wheel arches, underbody, diffuser, central fin and adjustable rear wing guide airflow and contribute to downforce and cornering stability. Large openings and vents in the engine cover are described as part of its cooling layout. These are the company’s stated design aims, not independently measured results.

- 1:24 veneno sports race car model. Suitable for kids and adults, as collections and toys.
- Two scissor doors and the rear hood can be opened. Full window glass.
- Front wheels with steering function, rear wheels with pull back function, fours wheels with shock absorption function.
- Three switch modes at the bottom of the car. Power off mode, light mode, and sound & light mode.
- Pressing the front wheel or steering wheel triggers the sound and light effect under sound & light mode.
The cabin and structure continue the lightweight-material theme: the CFRP monocoque is visible, while Forged Composite and CarbonSkin appear in the seats and cockpit. For a fuller look at Lamborghini’s official imagery and description, see its Veneno model-history page.
Veneno coupé vs. Roadster
The Roadster keeps the V12’s 750 hp and the quoted 355 km/h top speed, but it is an open-top car with no roof and a rollover bar. Lamborghini quoted 2.9 seconds from 0–100 km/h for the Roadster, a tenth slower than the coupé’s launch figure.

Lamborghini’s Roadster announcement also quoted then-President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann describing it as “one of the world’s most exclusive cars with the most extraordinary performance.”
How many Lamborghini Veneno cars were made?
The production count depends on what is being counted. Lamborghini’s 4 March 2013 launch release said three coupés would be built and sold to customers, and that all three had already been sold. A later Lamborghini retrospective counts 13 cars worldwide: three customer coupés in Italian-flag accent colors, one grey coupé displayed at the MUDETEC museum, and nine Roadsters.

That distinction explains why the launch announcement’s “three” does not describe the total population across both body styles. Other counts can differ when they include a separate test car; customer cars, factory-held or displayed cars, and test cars should not be treated as interchangeable categories. Lamborghini’s retrospective says each of the 13 sold for approximately €3 million before tax, while the dedicated Roadster announcement gave its own original price of €3.3 million excluding tax.

A specialist collector guide records one Roadster sale at Bonhams’ The Bonmont Sale on 29 September 2019: a 2014 car with 325 km sold for CHF 8,280,000. That is a dated auction result, not a current asking price or a present-day market valuation. The available information does not establish a current value range or current availability; currency, taxes, condition, provenance and the particulars of each car also make direct comparisons difficult.
What to check when considering a Veneno
A specialist collector guide recommends establishing a car’s provenance and ownership history, and reviewing its original books and tools, factory build records and Lamborghini service history. Its suggested inspection areas include cold-start behavior, diagnostics, the underbody and chassis, carbon-fibre panels, suspension and brakes. The guide also advises confirming the availability of model-specific body, electronics, gearbox and engine parts before purchase.
This is specialist buying guidance, not a Lamborghini factory service bulletin or proof of a particular defect. It does not establish a comprehensive reliability record for the Veneno.
