Social-media posts claimed that the National Highway Authority had banned the Alto from highways because of safety concerns. Aaj English TV reported that the rumor spread after a fatal collision in which an Alto was crushed by a heavy truck, and that an NHMP spokesperson denied a restriction had been imposed. The report does not establish that the collision prompted a rule change. A serious crash and public concern are not, by themselves, evidence of a motorway ban.
What does the report establish—and what does it not?

What was said about Alto safety equipment?
The same report said company officials described the Alto lineup as remaining in production, with the VXR possibly being phased out because it lacked airbags and ABS. It also said upgraded variants had dual airbags, ABS and ISOFIX child-seat anchors. These are statements reported in March 2025, not independently verified current specifications.
Safety equipment can vary by variant, model year and market. Before relying on any of those features, check the current official Suzuki Pakistan specifications for the exact vehicle under consideration; do not assume the report’s equipment details apply to every Alto.
