What the Xtreme 160R 4V is on paper

Those are manufacturer specifications for the published model. They describe the engine, suspension hardware and capacity, not the fuel consumption or comfort that every rider will experience. Model year, trim, tyre condition, road surface, traffic and rider weight can all change the result, so check the specification sheet and owner manual supplied with your particular motorcycle before ordering parts or setting up the suspension.

The page does not state a test protocol beside those numbers, so they should be treated as a listing and a reported average rather than a controlled independent test.

A separate long-term owner discussion contains a rough estimate of 35–38 kmpl from a rider who said they did not ride economically and had not measured the result carefully. That account is useful as a reminder that aggressive acceleration, high cruising speeds, heavy traffic, idling and extra load can pull consumption well below a listed figure. It is not a representative survey.
For a defensible number from your own motorcycle, calculate tank-to-tank consumption over several fills:
- Fill the tank to the same practical level each time. Avoid comparing one brimmed fill with another fill stopped well before the same point.
- Reset the trip meter and record the odometer reading, date and fuel quantity.
- Ride normally until the next refill, recording route type, traffic, average load, tyre condition and whether the ride was mostly urban or open-road.
- Divide kilometres ridden by litres added. Repeat for at least three or four tanks before drawing a conclusion.
- Keep separate notes for commuting, touring and two-up use instead of blending unlike routes into one number.
This method will not turn the motorcycle into a laboratory test, but it gives a more useful personal baseline than a single dashboard reading. If consumption changes suddenly, check tyre pressures against the value in your owner manual, inspect the chain for incorrect tension or poor lubrication, and look for carrying or braking issues before assuming the engine has developed a fault.

How to think about the 12-litre tank
Tank capacity helps estimate how often you will need to refuel, but the usable amount before reserve, traffic conditions and your chosen safety margin determine real range. Do not plan a remote trip by multiplying 12 litres by the highest published mileage figure. Use your measured tank-to-tank result and refuel before the level becomes uncomfortable for your route.
Is it comfortable for daily use?
There is no representative comfort survey in the available owner material. The accounts are anecdotal and mixed, so treat them as prompts for a test ride rather than as a universal verdict. One owner reported noticeable heat after riding for more than 20 minutes and described the suspension as stiff over speed breakers. The same discussion mentions confident braking. Another comment focused on the 795 mm seat height and said the motorcycle felt small to that rider.
These observations can all be true for different people. A rider’s inseam, torso length, weight, traffic speed, clothing and road surface change how heat, seat height and suspension are perceived. A short ride on smooth dealership pavement will not reveal what the bike feels like over your daily potholes or speed breakers.

Use a repeatable test ride
- Wear the footwear and riding clothes you normally use. Check whether you can place both feet securely enough for your usual stops at the listed 795 mm seat height.
- Ride through slow traffic for at least 20 minutes if the dealer and local rules allow it. Notice heat around your legs and whether the riding position remains relaxed.
- Cross the same type of speed breakers and rough patches you encounter on your commute. Keep the approach controlled and check for harsh bottoming, excessive rebound or repeated jolts.
- Operate the clutch, brake and gear controls repeatedly. Check reach, lever effort and whether your wrists or lower back become uncomfortable.
- Try a normal braking sequence in a safe, legal area. Confidence is useful, but do not treat one rider’s braking impression as a measured stopping-distance result.
- If you regularly carry a passenger, repeat the route with the intended pillion and confirm that both of you have usable seating, foot-room and stable handholds.
Suspension adjustment and load
The seven-step rear monoshock gives you a way to adapt preload for solo riding, luggage or a passenger. More preload is not automatically “better”: excessive preload can make an already firm ride feel harsher, while too little can allow excessive sag or bottoming under load. Change one step at a time, use the same road to compare settings, and follow the adjustment procedure and limits in the owner manual. Do not alter the fork internals or substitute parts solely because one owner found the standard setting firm.
Is it comfortable for a pillion?
The available owner material does not establish a measured passenger score or a universal two-up verdict. Passenger comfort depends on the pillion’s height, weight, leg position, seat padding, grab points, suspension setting and journey length.
