Published specifications
Ather lists 2.7 kWh, 2.9 kWh and 3.5 kWh battery options for the Rizta. Its specification material shows IDC figures of 123 km and 161 km, and separately labels TrueRange figures of 100 km and 125 km. The pages do not establish a one-to-one battery mapping for every figure in the material, so ask the retailer to identify the range label for the exact variant on your quotation.

Warranty choices
Ather lists standard battery coverage of three years or 30,000 km and an optional extended battery warranty of up to 10 years or 100,000 km. The extension’s price, eligibility, exclusions and claim conditions must be confirmed for the exact purchase. A longer kilometre limit can matter to a high-mileage commuter, but it is valuable only if the written contract covers the failure modes you are concerned about.

Where the Rizta may fit best
The 34 L boot is the clearest practical differentiator in the published specifications. It can reduce the need for a top box or daily bag, especially for a family rider carrying groceries or a passenger’s helmet. Storage volume does not, by itself, establish seat comfort, suspension quality or passenger ergonomics; take a test ride with the intended rider and passenger before ordering.

How to read the range numbers without being misled
IDC is a test-cycle claim
TVS and Ather publish IDC figures. IDC provides a consistent reference within a manufacturer’s catalogue, but it is not a guarantee of kilometres available in your city. Speed, traffic, hills, payload, temperature, tyre pressure, riding mode and battery reserve all change consumption.
TrueRange is a different label
Ather presents TrueRange separately from IDC. A Rizta figure of 100 or 125 km under the TrueRange label should not be placed in a table beside a 123 or 161 km IDC figure and treated as an equal test result. The labels describe different bases, and the source material does not provide a common independent test translating one into the other.
Plan a reserve, not a zero-percent arrival
Measure your round-trip distance, add detours and allow a reserve for weather, traffic and an unexpected passenger. If your commute is 50 km per day, a scooter whose usable result in your conditions is close to 50 km leaves little flexibility even if its brochure number is much higher. A larger battery can buy convenience, but only after its price, charging time, weight and warranty fit your budget.

Separate the four numbers on every quotation
- Ex-showroom price: the vehicle price before registration, insurance and other local charges.
- Incentive or subsidy: ask which state or local scheme is assumed, whether the amount is applied immediately or reimbursed later, and when the scheme expires.
- Mandatory on-road charges: registration, road tax where applicable, insurance and statutory fees.
- Optional items: extended warranty, accessories, service packages, delivery charges and financing costs.
Compare totals only after all four categories are visible. TVS’s ₹95,124–₹1,46,877 figures are effective ex-showroom amounts with several charges excluded. The EVA’s ₹1.35 lakh figure is also ex-showroom. A current Rizta city quote is not established by the reviewed pages, so a dealer must supply it.
Questions that expose a misleadingly low quote
- Is the advertised figure for the same battery and software variant being demonstrated?
- Does the price assume a subsidy that is unavailable to your registration address?
- Is the charger included, and is installation of a suitable socket extra?
- Are insurance and registration shown as actual amounts or estimates?
- Does the written warranty begin at invoicing, registration or delivery?

Charging at home and away
Check the parking space before choosing the scooter
Confirm that you can park close enough to a safe electrical outlet, that the building permits charging, and that the socket can carry the required load without an extension cable running through a public walkway. For the iQube, TVS specifies a portable 950 W charger and a 15 A socket. The reviewed material does not state equivalent charger specifications or charging times for the EVA or Rizta, so obtain those details in writing.
Calculate charging around your schedule
Record when the scooter is normally parked for several uninterrupted hours. A rider returning late at night may value a larger battery or a faster approved charging arrangement more than a higher laboratory range. Do not compare only the number of years. Ask whether capacity degradation is covered, whether a diagnostic fee applies, whether periodic servicing is a condition of coverage, how water or accident damage is treated, and whether the warranty follows the scooter if you sell it.

IDC and TrueRange are separate labels. Keep the label attached to every number in your notes and plan a conservative reserve.
Assuming a national service claim applies to your neighbourhood
A reported dealer count does not tell you whether the closest outlet has trained high-voltage technicians or the part you need. Call the outlet, ask specific questions and save the contact details.
