ABZO Sigilo and VLF Strada: Range, Charging Time, and Running Cost Explained

ABZO Sigilo and VLF Strada range and charging figures vary by battery and trim. This guide separates City, Max, X, Z and Z+ claims, explains conflicting charging data, and shows how to calculate real local running cost.

There is no single range or charging figure for either scooter. ABZO lists Sigilo X and Z at 100 km, while the Z+ is listed at 162 km; its own FAQ instead says the model can go “up to 155 km” and gives different charging times. VLF Strada figures are also trim-specific: Motohaus lists 130 km with a 2.16 kWh battery and 250 km with a 4.32 kWh battery. These are manufacturer or launch-report claims, not independently measured real-world results.

For cost, ABZO publishes approximately ₹45 for a full charge and ₹0.25 per kilometre using a ₹10-per-unit electricity assumption. No comparable verified VLF cost-per-kilometre figure is established. Your electricity tariff, charging losses, riding conditions and actual distance matter more than a headline estimate.

ABZO Sigilo vs VLF Strada at a glance

The useful comparison is between equivalent battery and price variants, not between the biggest number shown for one scooter and the entry version of the other. The figures below are published specifications or launch prices for India and should be confirmed with the seller because trim names, equipment and prices can change.

What the range numbers actually mean

Sigilo: three battery-and-range entries, plus an internal discrepancy

ABZO’s current Sigilo specification table assigns both the X and Z a 2 kWh battery and a 100 km range. The Z+ is shown with a 4 kWh battery and 162 km. Those are the cleanest variant-specific figures on the page, but they are not the only figures ABZO publishes.

The same page’s FAQ answers the question “How far can Sigilo go on a single charge?” with “up to 155 km.” That answer does not identify a trim and does not match the 162 km table entry for the Z+. The FAQ also gives 3 hours 50 minutes for X and 6 hours 40 minutes for Z, unlike the table’s three-hour values for X and Z. This is a source conflict within ABZO’s own page, not evidence that one number is a tested result.

Before paying a booking amount, ask ABZO or an authorised dealer to put the exact trim, battery capacity, charger rating and quoted range in writing. A 100 km claim for a 2 kWh version should not be used to describe the 4 kWh Z+, and the 162 km figure should not be presented as the range of every Sigilo.

Strada: City and Max are materially different scooters

Motohaus lists two Strada battery options: 2.16 kWh with a 130 km claimed range and 4.32 kWh with a 250 km claimed range. BikeWale’s October 13, 2026 launch report identifies these as the City and Max, respectively. It reports the City at ₹1,19,999 ex-showroom with one removable 2.16 kWh LFP pack and the Max at ₹1,55,500 with the higher claimed range.

The 250 km number therefore belongs to the larger-battery configuration in the available variant-specific information. A comparison snippet that simply says “Strada: 250 km” hides the difference between City and Max. Use the 130 km and 250 km figures only with their battery and trim labels.

IDC is a standardized test-cycle claim, not a promise that every rider will cover that distance. Speed, payload, gradients, temperature, tyre pressure, traffic and how much reserve you keep can all change the distance before charging. Neither the cited ABZO nor Motohaus material reports a controlled independent road test.

Charging time: why the numbers do not line up

Sigilo charging figures require confirmation

ABZO’s table says the 2 kWh X and Z take three hours at 10 A and the 4 kWh Z+ takes six hours at 10 A. Its FAQ instead lists 3 hours 50 minutes for X and 6 hours 40 minutes for Z. The page also mentions approximate fast-charge times but does not provide a single set of variant-specific figures in the cited material.

Do not treat the table’s three-hour figure as a universal Sigilo charging time, and do not silently substitute the FAQ’s longer values. Charging may depend on the charger supplied, starting state of charge, battery temperature and whether the time is measured from empty or from a stated reserve. Confirm whether the seller’s quote refers to a 10 A charger, a particular battery, and a 0–100% or partial-charge interval.

Strada charging depends on battery size and starting charge

Motohaus’s Strada FAQ states three hours for one battery option and six hours for the other, measured from 20% to 100%. The page’s general specification table lists three hours, which is not sufficient to describe both versions. The six-hour figure should be associated with the larger 4.32 kWh configuration when discussing the FAQ’s variant information.

BikeWale reports that the City launch configuration includes a 10 A charger. Ask whether the same charger is supplied with the Max and whether a different charging arrangement is available. A “three-hour” claim measured from 20% is not equivalent to three hours from a fully depleted battery, so retain the starting percentage when comparing charging convenience.

Running cost: what is supported and what is not

ABZO’s published estimate

ABZO’s homepage gives an approximate full-charge cost of ₹45 and an approximate running cost of ₹0.25 per kilometre. Its savings calculator uses ₹10 per electricity unit and shows an estimated 105 km range in its assumptions. These are ABZO’s own estimates, not an independently audited operating-cost study and not a tariff that applies across India.

The ₹45 figure should be read together with the company’s assumptions. Your bill may use a different per-unit rate, slab, fuel surcharge, taxes or time-of-use tariff. Charging losses mean electricity drawn at the wall is not identical to the battery’s nominal capacity. A rider who charges after a short trip also pays for the energy needed to restore that specific state of charge, not a fixed ₹45 every time.

No like-for-like VLF cost-per-kilometre figure is established

The available Strada material gives battery capacities and claimed ranges but does not publish a verified wall-energy measurement or a comparable rupees-per-kilometre result. Dividing 2.16 kWh or 4.32 kWh by the claimed IDC range would produce a theoretical battery-capacity ratio, not an observed running cost. That shortcut omits charger losses, usable-versus-rated capacity, reserve management and real riding conditions.

  1. Record the scooter’s odometer reading before a representative ride and again after it.
  2. Recharge from the same approximate state of charge, using the charger you normally intend to use.
  3. Measure electricity drawn at the wall with a suitable energy meter, or use the charging interval shown by a reliable charger monitor. Do not assume the battery’s kWh rating equals wall consumption.
  4. Multiply wall energy in kWh by your billed ₹/kWh rate to obtain charging cost.
  5. Divide that cost by the kilometres travelled during the interval. Repeat over several charges so one short trip does not dominate the result.

The formula is running cost per kilometre = (wall energy in kWh × local electricity rate) ÷ kilometres travelled. Keep the result tied to the rider, route, season, payload and tariff that produced it.

Price and ownership context

BikeWale’s October 13, 2026 launch report puts the Strada City at ₹1,19,999 ex-showroom and the Strada Max at ₹1,55,500 ex-showroom. Motohaus lists the same ₹1,19,999 to ₹1,55,500 span. Ex-showroom pricing excludes registration, insurance, taxes or dealer-installed items, and it can change after the cited launch date.

No Sigilo prices are established in the cited material, so a direct purchase-price verdict between Sigilo trims and Strada trims would be speculative. Request an on-road quotation that identifies the battery, charger, warranty terms, delivery charges and any state incentives. Do not compare a promotional or dealer-specific quote with a published ex-showroom number without labeling the difference.

Which configuration fits your use?

Choose by daily distance and charging access

Start with your normal round-trip distance, then add a reserve for detours, weather and the possibility that you cannot charge immediately on arrival. A claimed 100 km, 130 km, 155 km, 162 km or 250 km should be treated as an upper-bound test-cycle or manufacturer figure, not as the distance you can safely plan for in every condition.

  • A rider with a short urban commute and a socket at home may value the smaller Sigilo or Strada battery’s lower purchase price and shorter stated charging interval.
  • A rider covering longer distances or charging less often should compare the 4 kWh Sigilo Z+ with the 4.32 kWh Strada Max, while checking the actual charger and physical battery arrangement.
  • If parking is far from a power outlet, ask whether the battery can be removed safely. BikeWale identifies the Strada City pack as removable; do not assume the same arrangement for every Strada or Sigilo trim without written confirmation.

Check the practical charging location

Measure the distance from your parking bay to a compliant socket and verify that the circuit can support the supplied charger. A quoted charge time is irrelevant if the scooter must be moved to another location or if building rules prohibit charging in a shared area. Ask the dealer whether the charger is intended for indoor use, whether an extension lead is permitted, and how the warranty treats non-standard electrical setups.

Questions to ask the dealer before booking

  • Which exact trim is being quoted: Sigilo X, Z or Z+, or Strada City or Max?
  • What is the rated battery capacity, chemistry and whether the pack is removable?
  • Is the range figure IDC, another test-cycle result or an internal estimate?
  • What starting and ending state of charge define the charging-time claim?
  • Which charger amperage is included, and is the quoted time measured with that charger?
  • Why does the Sigilo page show different table and FAQ figures, and which value appears on the current invoice or specification sheet?
  • What are the current ex-showroom and on-road prices, including registration, insurance and delivery?
  • What battery, charger and range warranties apply, and where is service available?

Bottom line

The Sigilo and Strada are not one-to-one products until you match battery and trim. On published figures, Sigilo X and Z are 2 kWh/100 km versions, while Z+ is 4 kWh/162 km in the specification table; ABZO’s own FAQ introduces 155 km and different charging times, so confirmation is essential. Strada City is the 2.16 kWh/130 km, ₹1,19,999 ex-showroom configuration reported at launch, while Strada Max is the 4.32 kWh/250 km, ₹1,55,500 configuration.

For operating cost, ABZO’s ₹45 per charge and ₹0.25 per kilometre are useful as company estimates only. Measure wall energy and apply your tariff before deciding that either scooter is cheaper to run. The best purchase is the variant whose verified battery, charging setup, removable-pack capability and on-road price fit your actual commute—not the model carrying the largest unqualified range headline.
