Harley-Davidson’s 2026 U.S. touring lineup includes Street Glide, Road Glide, Street Glide Limited, Road Glide Limited and CVO motorcycles. Its January 14, 2026 announcement describes the Limited models as optimized for rider-and-passenger long-haul comfort, with the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 powertrain, restyled Grand Tour-Pak luggage carrier and embedded navigation. Treat those as manufacturer descriptions rather than independent comfort or reliability results.

Indian’s U.S. touring range lists Roadmaster PowerPlus, Indian Pursuit and Roadmaster. Indian highlights wind protection, two-up seating, storage and large fuel tanks, with the touring category stating capacities of up to 6 gallons.
1. Harley-Davidson Street Glide
The Street Glide is a dedicated American grand-tourer for riders who want substantial fairing protection and hard luggage without necessarily choosing the largest trunk-equipped package. It is most at home on paved interstate and state highways. Check whether the exact 2026 configuration includes the passenger backrest, floorboard and luggage arrangement you need; equipment can vary by model and option.
#1 Best Overall
- The AE2 delivers enhanced tire mileage thanks to a MT Multi-Tread rear tire technology that incorporates a long-wearing
- compound in the center of the tire, along with a lateral-grip compound on each shoulder for great handling
- Dunlops AE2 is the premier aftermarket choice for V-Twin riders in search of tires that deliver extended tread wear
- Optimized tread pattern design aids in improved wear characteristics and mileage
- Updated front and rear compounds offer enhanced wear resistance and wet-weather performance
2. Harley-Davidson Road Glide
The Road Glide uses a frame-mounted fairing, a distinction that matters when comparing steering feel and cockpit layout with the Street Glide. It remains a pavement-oriented touring choice. Sit on both models, reach the bars and controls in your riding gear, and test low-speed steering before deciding which fairing layout suits you.
3. Harley-Davidson Street Glide Limited
This is the clearest Harley choice here for two-up, luggage-heavy highway travel. Harley-Davidson’s 2026 specification lists a 6-gallon tank, 5.05 cubic feet of luggage capacity, 893 pounds running order, a 27.5-inch laden seat height, 131 lb-ft of engine torque and 45 mpg estimated city/highway fuel economy. Those are manufacturer-published figures, not a guaranteed range calculation: wind, speed, load, temperature, traffic and reserve practice change the distance between fuel stops. The low laden seat number does not make an 893-pound motorcycle easy to push or catch; perform a static balance and parking-lot maneuver test.
4. Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited
The Road Glide Limited combines the Road Glide fairing concept with the full-tourer expectation of a trunk, passenger support and long-haul storage. It fits riders who want a built-in two-up touring platform and prefer the Road Glide cockpit. Confirm seat, backrest, luggage and infotainment details for the exact 2026 configuration.
Rank #2
- Dunlop’s American Elite is a leading aftermarket choice for riders in search of tires that have extended tread wear
5. Harley-Davidson CVO touring models
Harley-Davidson’s 2026 touring lineup also includes CVO motorcycles. Consider these when premium trim and equipment matter more than minimizing purchase or replacement cost. Because the lineup contains more than one CVO model, verify the specific motorcycle’s fairing, trunk, passenger provisions and luggage before comparing it with a Limited.
6. Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special
The Pan America 1250 Special is for a cross-country route that can leave the pavement. Harley-Davidson places it in adventure touring, a category it describes as combining on-road touring with off-road exploration. Its upright ergonomics and adventure chassis suit mixed surfaces better than a heavy full-dress tourer, but you must plan luggage, wind protection and passenger needs differently. A two-up rider should check rear-seat space and the total loaded weight, not just the showroom seat height.
7. Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST
The ST is the road-biased Pan America option. It is a logical compromise when most miles are paved but rough access roads, gravel connectors or poorly maintained routes are possible. Compare its standard and optional luggage with your actual packing list, and make sure the windscreen position works at your normal highway speed.
Rank #3
- The AE2 delivers enhanced tire mileage thanks to a MT Multi-Tread rear tire technology that incorporates a long-wearing
- compound in the center of the tire, along with a lateral-grip compound on each shoulder for great handling
- Dunlops AE2 is the premier aftermarket choice for V-Twin riders in search of tires that deliver extended tread wear
- Optimized tread pattern design aids in improved wear characteristics and mileage
- Updated front and rear compounds offer enhanced wear resistance and wet-weather performance
8. Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Limited
The Pan America 1250 Limited targets riders who want adventure-tourer capability with more touring-oriented equipment. Read the current equipment list carefully: “Limited” does not automatically answer how much luggage, passenger comfort or weather protection you will receive for your route. Load the bike as you would for a trip and confirm that both feet and the controls remain manageable.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors9. Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic
The 2026 Heritage Classic is a Softail-platform cruiser with Harley-Davidson’s Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic engine, ride modes and a solo-trim choice. It can handle long-distance riding when you accept less integrated wind protection and storage than a full tourer. The solo trim lacks passenger equipment, so it is not a two-up solution without selecting a different configuration and adding the required hardware.
10. Indian Roadmaster PowerPlus
Indian positions the Roadmaster PowerPlus as a long-distance touring motorcycle. Its full fairing, passenger-focused seating, trunk and integrated storage address the core demands of a coast-to-coast highway trip. Confirm current U.S. model-year equipment, seat options and loaded weight before purchase; the category’s “up to 6 gallons” fuel statement is not a promise of a particular model’s exact capacity or real-world range.
Rank #4
11. Indian Pursuit
The Indian Pursuit is another full-size Indian touring choice for riders prioritizing weather protection and two-up travel. Compare its included trunk, passenger backrest, luggage volume and ergonomics with the Roadmaster PowerPlus rather than assuming the names indicate identical equipment. A bagger-style configuration can look sleeker but may give up trunk capacity or fairing coverage.
12. Indian Roadmaster
The Roadmaster is aimed squarely at extended paved travel, with the features Indian emphasizes for its touring category: wind protection, two-up seating, storage and a large fuel tank. It is a strong shortlist candidate for riders who carry substantial gear or a passenger every day. Its size also makes a loaded, stationary test essential before committing.

Tourer, bagger, cruiser or adventure-tourer?
Full touring motorcycles
Full tourers put the most hardware between you and the weather and normally provide the best out-of-the-box passenger and trunk arrangements. Their trade-offs are mass, cost and the effort required in parking lots, driveways and fuel stations.
Best Value

- Easy Installtion - Easy to install. Please contact us if you have any question. Note: Please use tools to tighten the screws above the flagpole mount after installation, for avoid the flagpole lost.
Baggers
Indian describes baggers as sleeker machines with fewer fairings and no trunk compared with full touring motorcycles, while retaining travel capability. They work when you want hard side luggage and highway ability but can pack lightly or add storage selectively.
Touring-capable cruisers
A cruiser such as the Heritage Classic can be comfortable for distance, but luggage, passenger equipment and wind protection are more configuration-dependent. Treat it as a deliberate minimalist choice, not a substitute for a trunk-equipped tourer.
Adventure-tourers
Adventure-tourers make sense when the route includes gravel, forest roads or other rougher surfaces. Their upright layouts and suspension focus help away from pavement, while highway wind protection, passenger accommodations and luggage may require more careful setup than on a full dresser.

- Define the surface. If nearly every mile is paved, start with the full touring and bagger candidates. If a meaningful part of the route is unpaved, begin with the Pan America models.
- Decide whether the passenger is a daily requirement. Prioritize a real passenger seat, grab rails, backrest, floorboards and independent luggage space; do not infer these from a model name.
- Pack before you compare. Measure the volume of clothing, rain gear, tools and electronics you actually carry. A trunk-free bagger may require rack bags or a top case.
- Test the loaded ergonomics. Sit in your boots, turn the bars at full lock, reach the ground and practice a slow U-turn. A claimed seat height cannot predict your confidence with a fully fueled motorcycle.
- Plan fuel stops conservatively. Use manufacturer capacity and economy only as reference points. Do not multiply them into a guaranteed range; leave a route-level reserve for weather, speed, detours and sparse stations.
- Verify the exact model year. Harley-Davidson and Indian equipment, trims and accessory fitment can change. Confirm the U.S. specification and included luggage on the purchase sheet.
Luggage and trip preparation
Indian’s 2026 accessories catalog includes a Spirit Lake Touring Bag described as carrying gear for one or two riders on a long-term trip, along with rack and day bags. Fitment listings specify model years and, in some cases, a required rack. Confirm the rack, mounting hardware and your motorcycle’s exact year before ordering. A properly fitting helmet and a basic roadside tool kit are sensible preparation items, but no particular product model is established here.
Quick Recap
What the published numbers do—and do not—tell you
- Fuel: A 6-gallon tank and 45 mpg estimate on the 2026 Street Glide Limited are manufacturer figures under stated test conventions, not a route guarantee.
- Luggage: The listed 5.05 cubic feet is a specification for that Harley model; usable packing space changes with liners, shapes and passenger gear.
- Weight: The 893-pound running-order figure includes the manufacturer’s defined operating condition, but your accessories, fuel and luggage add to what you maneuver.
- Comfort: Manufacturer descriptions establish intended equipment and positioning. They do not establish independent vibration, seat comfort, reliability or real-world handling rankings.
