The available reporting does not establish that the Xiaomi SU7 was at fault—or that it was cleared. Xiaomi gave its account of the crash and said police were investigating; the sources reviewed do not provide a final official finding on responsibility, the doors, or the cause of the fire.
What happened before the crash, according to Xiaomi?
A Xiaomi SU7 Standard was involved in a fatal crash on March 29, 2025, at about 22:44 local time on the Chi-Qi section of the Dezhou-Shangrao Expressway in Anhui, China. Three occupants died. Xiaomi said roadworks had closed the car’s lane and diverted traffic into the opposite lane.
Xiaomi’s April 1 account described the car as using NOA, its navigation-assisted driving function. The company said the car detected an obstacle, warned the driver and began slowing before the driver took over. These details were Xiaomi’s account of data from the vehicle, not an independent reconstruction.
