The Mercedes-Benz Classic USA store presents an OEM catalog covering 1954–2010. It lists Series 123 vehicles such as the 240D and includes a bushing kit identified as part number 123-240-01-17. 126 series (W126): supported lookup, not a proven low-cost choice
The 126 series, produced from 1979 to 1992, also appears in the European classic search. That confirms an official identification channel, but it does not establish a lower maintenance cost or easier repairs than the 123 or 124.
When evaluating a 126, separate the appeal of the model from the service reality of the individual car. “W123,” “W124,” “W126” and “R107” are families, not complete parts specifications. The engine, transmission, market and equipment details can change the correct component.

Treating catalog coverage as stock
A catalog page proves that Mercedes-Benz has a search record for the vehicle or item. It does not prove that the part is currently stocked locally, inexpensive, reproduced or available without a lead time.
