Saleen has previewed an SR Widebody based on the S650 Ford Mustang, but the available teaser is a design rendering—not a production specification sheet. Its reported flared fenders and large rear wing are visible; the engine, horsepower, price, reveal timing, production schedule and donor trim have not been confirmed. The preview appeared alongside a separate Saleen Regulation Crowdfunding offering, which carries disclosed investment risks.
What the Saleen SR Widebody teaser shows
A September 30 report describes a dark digital rendering of an S650 Mustang with substantially flared front and rear fenders and a large wing mounted on the trunk. Those are styling cues in a teaser image, not evidence of tested aerodynamic performance. The wing’s appearance does not establish downforce, lap times or other engineering results. What is—and is not—confirmed
The cited coverage identifies the project as based on the S650-generation Mustang, but does not say whether its donor car is a Mustang GT or Dark Horse. It also does not establish an engine, horsepower figure, price, reveal date or production timing.
Accordingly, there is not yet enough published information to compare the SR Widebody’s performance with another Mustang or to assess it as a production model. Specifications attached to other Saleen labels—or to Ford’s Mustang GTD—should not be treated as SR Widebody specifications.

Saleen’s earlier S650 Mustang plans are separate
In an April 2023 announcement, Saleen described planned 2024 302 Mustang labels based on the S650: White Label with a stated minimum of 500 hp, Yellow Label with a stated minimum of 750 hp, and Black Label that the company said would exceed 800 hp. The announcement also described Racecraft suspension, aerodynamic and braking changes, and custom interior upgrades. Saleen’s official material also says it offers technical parts, lifestyle accessories and apparel. It does not identify an SR Widebody kit, establish that a listed part fits the teased car, or show that an SR-specific product is for sale. A purchasable kit or vehicle therefore cannot be confirmed from the cited material.

The crowdfunding pitch is a separate matter
Saleen’s SR Widebody teaser appeared alongside a fundraising effort, but a styling preview and a securities offering answer different questions: the rendering shows a proposed design, while the offering asks investors to consider financing the company. The campaign should not be read as confirmation that the car will reach production.

Wefunder identifies itself as the portal for Saleen’s Regulation Crowdfunding offering. Its offering disclosures warn that the securities have transfer restrictions and are likely highly illiquid, with no secondary market; they also say proceeds may not be sufficient to fund operations or achieve the company’s objectives. The disclosures discuss limited cash reserves, liabilities, financial stress, dependence on key personnel and Ford-supplied vehicle platforms, and the possibility of losing the investment.
