Are Renault 5 Turbo 2 parts still available?
They are available through several routes, although “available” does not mean every component is permanently stocked or interchangeable across every Turbo 2. Renault’s classic-car service network
Renault Group announced The Originals Renault Services on 11 February 2025 for owners of classic Renault vehicles. The program directs collectors toward selected Renault after-sales sites and long-standing specialist partners. The named partners include Arnaud Ventoux Pièces for sports cars, ASCI Sellerie for upholstery and Melun Retro Passion for mainstream Renault models. Renault also says 50 archive repair manuals are available free through the service site.

Those are rollout figures stated in February 2025, not a guarantee of current coverage near you. Check Renault’s current service directory before sending a car or assuming a local site accepts every Turbo 2 job.

Renault Global CMO and Chief Branding Officer for All Brands Arnaud Belloni described the purpose of the program this way: “We are deploying new services developed specifically for enthusiasts and collectors of classic Renault vehicles, allowing them to service, restore and maintain their automotive treasures. It’s a way of protecting our shared automotive heritage, so that we can pass it on to future generations.”
Specialist catalogues and independent suppliers
AUXAL’s catalogue demonstrates that model-specific replacement parts are being offered. Its examples include front coolant hoses described for Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 applications, with part numbers and listed prices. The catalogue covers categories including engine, gearbox, bodywork, brakes, cooling, ignition, suspension, electrics, fueling and exhaust.
A catalogue entry proves that a supplier lists a component; it does not prove live stock, universal fitment, or that the part matches every chassis, production variation or modified car. Treat the listing as a sourcing lead. Confirm the exact part number, application and current availability before paying.
Garage Drouet advertises R5 Turbo parts, K-Jetronic work, repair manuals and a restoration workshop, and presents itself as a specialist for the R5 Turbo and Super 5 GT Turbo. These are the business’s own service descriptions. Ask about current appointment capacity, the exact systems it will handle and the written scope of work before shipping a car or authorising repairs.

How to source a part without ordering the wrong one
- Record the car’s identity. Collect the VIN or chassis information, model designation, build details, engine and gearbox numbers where available, and photographs of the existing component.
- Describe the failure, not just the name. Note whether a hose is leaking, soft, swollen or incorrectly routed; whether an electrical component is intermittent; or whether a body panel has been repaired or modified.
- Request the supplier’s part number. Compare the number with the car’s documentation and ask the supplier to confirm the Turbo 2 application in writing.
- Check stock and lead time. A displayed listing may be back-ordered, made to order or unavailable in your country. Ask whether the quoted price is current and whether the item is physically in stock.
- Confirm shipping and returns. Clarify international freight, taxes, packaging, return eligibility and whether a cut-to-length hose or special-order item is excluded from returns.

What a pre-purchase specialist inspection should cover
Before buying, commission a documented inspection by someone who understands the Turbo 2. Request photographs, measured findings where appropriate and a written estimate separating immediate safety work from longer-term restoration.

Cooling system
Inspect the complete cooling system for leaks, degraded hoses, poor routing, blocked passages and evidence of overheating. Replaceable hoses are among the Turbo 2 components listed by specialist catalogues, but the correct dimensions and fittings must be confirmed against the individual car.
Turbocharger and engine
Ask for a condition assessment of the turbocharger, engine oiling, compression or other appropriate tests, signs of overheating and evidence of previous rebuild work. The report should distinguish a serviceable original assembly from one that is merely running today but nearing a major overhaul.
Fuel injection and ignition
K-Jetronic knowledge is a useful screening criterion when selecting a workshop. Request checks of fuel delivery, injection components, cold-start behaviour, ignition health and any modifications. A seller’s statement that the car “starts and drives” is not a substitute for system testing.

Have the gearbox, clutch operation, driveshafts, mounts and oil leaks assessed under suitable operating conditions. Record any gear-selection difficulty or noise and price parts and labour separately, because driveline work can materially change the purchase decision.

Chassis, body and structure
Inspect the shell, underbody, suspension mounting areas, repaired sections, corrosion and accident evidence. Verify provenance and previous restoration invoices. A car with attractive paint can still require structural or mechanical work that is not visible in photographs.
Brakes, suspension and tyres
Check brake hydraulics, calipers, lines, discs or drums as applicable, suspension components, wheel condition and tyre age. Low annual mileage does not prevent rubber, fluids and other age-sensitive parts from deteriorating.

There is no verified universal annual ownership figure. Costs depend on condition, annual use, storage, insurance, location, transport, parts choice and whether the car is maintained or undergoing restoration. Mileage alone is a poor predictor for an older performance car.

Use the $5,000–$18,000 range only as a rough editorial indication that annual spending can be substantial, not as a quote for your car. A meaningful estimate needs the VIN or chassis identity, service history, current condition, expected mileage and country or region.

Build a realistic ownership budget
- Buy the inspection first. Pay for a specialist report before committing to the car. Include cooling, turbocharger, fuel injection, engine, gearbox, body, chassis, brakes and suspension.
- Separate immediate work from planned work. List safety-critical repairs, leaks and reliability issues separately from cosmetic restoration and upgrades.
- Price by exact part number. Obtain current supplier prices and stock confirmation for every identified component rather than using generic Renault 5 prices.
- Get labour estimates in writing. Ask the workshop to state labour hours or a not-to-exceed amount, what is included and how hidden damage will be approved.
- Add ownership overheads. Price insurance, secure storage, transport, registration, inspections and intended annual use in your location.
