You couldn’t buy the Porsche-liveried Xbox Series X as a normal retail edition. Xbox and Porsche created six custom console-and-controller designs for Porsche’s 75th anniversary in 2023, with 75 console sets worldwide offered through sweepstakes rather than stores. The entry period ended on October 1, 2023, so the official promotion is over.
What was the Porsche Xbox release?
The collaboration transformed the Xbox Series X and its matching Xbox Wireless Controller with liveries inspired by Porsche racing history. Porsche announced six designs in June 2023; Xbox explicitly said the consoles were not for retail. Porsche later specified that the collection totalled 75 consoles worldwide, each available through the sweepstakes. Porsche’s June 2023 announcement and August gamescom follow-up describe the campaign; Xbox’s announcement also confirms the giveaway-only status.

The sweepstakes ran from June 8 through October 1, 2023, for entrants in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. Porsche also said six visitors to Xbox’s gamescom stand had a chance to take home individually designed consoles. These were parts of a promotion, not six separately purchasable editions.

Each theme appeared on both the Series X console and its accompanying controller. Porsche’s June 2023 announcement provides the design names and the company’s descriptions of their racing references.
Can you still enter or buy one?
No official retail release or ongoing sweepstakes is established by the announcements. The 2023 entry window has ended. Porsche’s gaming guide, updated July 27, 2026, still describes the collaboration as 75 custom-designed Series X consoles and controllers, but does not announce a later retail release. Porsche’s gaming guide is a retrospective, not a current sales listing.

A console advertised today would therefore be a resale item, not a new official store edition. The cited Porsche and Xbox sources do not establish current resale prices, available stock or the authenticity of any particular listing. If considering one, check provenance, condition, whether the matching controller is included, regional power compatibility, seller protections and total cost before paying.

The console designs were part of a broader Porsche-and-Xbox celebration, not a new console product line. Porsche said its work with Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios on Porsche and Forza-branded content dated back to 2005. At gamescom in August 2023, Porsche announced that a 917 with the Hippie livery and a 75th-anniversary Taycan 4S became available to Forza Horizon 5 players that day. Porsche’s gamescom announcement covers those in-game cars and the collaboration.

Porsche’s gaming guide updated July 27, 2026 continues to list the Xbox collection and names Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport among the racing games featuring Porsche cars. That provides current context for Porsche’s gaming presence, but does not change the giveaway-only status of the 2023 hardware.
