For new-car shoppers in the United States, Nissan’s current sports car is the Z. The 2026 Z is offered in four trims—Sport, Performance, Heritage Edition and NISMO—with manufacturer-listed starting MSRPs from $42,970 to $65,750. The GT-R is no longer in production, though Nissan has shown limited availability for 2024 models, so any remaining new stock depends on location.
Which Nissan sports cars can you buy today?
Nissan USA’s current lineup points new-car shoppers to the Z. Nissan says the GT-R is “No Longer in Production,” so it is not a current-production new model. Nissan has separately marked the 2024 GT-R as “Limited Availability”; a dealer may have remaining stock, but that is different from Nissan building new GT-Rs. Check Nissan USA’s current lineup and shopping pages and contact local dealers to confirm availability.
This guide covers the US market. Nissan’s model lineup, inventory and prices can change, and its US figures should not be applied to other countries.

Nissan states that MSRP excludes tax, title, license, options, and destination and handling charges, and that the dealer sets the actual price. The 2026 Z specifications and trim page is the place to check current equipment and configuration. Confirm the model year, options, dealer add-ons, and local stock before comparing offers.
How do the Z’s engine and transmissions differ?
Nissan describes the Z as a two-seat, rear-wheel-drive coupe powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. Nissan lists 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque for the standard Z, and 420 horsepower for the 2026 Z NISMO. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results.

Sport is the lowest-priced of Nissan’s four listed trims. It is a natural starting point if your first comparison is the Z’s entry price; use Nissan’s current specification page to verify the equipment and transmission offered on the car available to you.

Heritage Edition (Z32 Midnight Purple)
The Heritage Edition is listed between Performance and NISMO in starting MSRP. Check the live build information and local inventory to establish which equipment and color are available for the model year and vehicle you are considering.

NISMO
NISMO is the highest-priced 2026 Z trim in Nissan’s list and is specified at 420 horsepower, versus 400 horsepower for the standard Z. It is the choice to examine if the NISMO presentation and higher stated output are priorities, but verify its specific equipment and transmission on Nissan’s current model page.

No. Nissan USA’s GT-R technology page says “No Longer in Production.” Nissan’s current pages also show a 2024 GT-R with limited availability and list a 2024 GT-R NISMO on its NISMO lineup page. Those listings indicate possible remaining inventory, not continued production. Contact a dealer to learn whether a new GT-R is actually available nearby.
