Nissan says it will tailor 2027 Z production to customer demand and sustainable inventory goals. Dealer-facing information reported by The Drive puts the average at two to three cars per U.S. dealer for the model year, but Nissan has not published a total production target or a percentage reduction. That average is not a guaranteed allocation for any specific dealership.
Will Nissan reduce Z production for 2027?
Nissan has confirmed a more tailored production approach for the 2027 Z, but its public statements do not quantify a production cut. A Nissan representative quoted by The Drive said the approach is intended to “better align with customer demand” and support sustainable inventories. The representative was not named in the report.
The Drive says dealer-facing material forecast an average of two to three Zs per dealer for the model year and reports that Nissan confirmed the information was legitimate. Auto123 separately reported fewer than three units per U.S. dealer on average, based on documents shown to dealers. These reports indicate a tight average allocation; they are not a public Nissan production total or a year-over-year comparison.
Nissan’s public 2027 Z press materials and pricing announcement do not state an absolute build quantity, a production-reduction percentage, or allocations by dealership. Nissan’s broader manufacturing plans are not evidence of a Z-specific cut.

How many 2027 Nissan Zs will each dealer get?
The reported estimate is an average of two to three cars per dealer for the model year, based on dealer-facing material described by The Drive. Auto123’s report of fewer than three per U.S. dealer is broadly consistent. Neither figure tells you what a particular store will receive: an average does not guarantee an allotment, and local allocations can differ.
For a purchase decision, the dealer’s confirmed allocation or live inventory matters more than the national average. Ask whether the specific grade and transmission you want is assigned to that store, available to reserve, or still orderable.

Will it be hard to find a 2027 Nissan Z?
The reported low average allocation suggests availability could be limited, especially for a specific trim or transmission, but the available information does not establish how many cars will reach the U.S. overall or how quickly they will sell. The 2027 Z is expected to be available in summer 2026, according to Nissan; timing and actual stock should be confirmed with local dealers.
The model-year changes may affect which version you want, but they do not establish the size of production:
