Timex has put Bugs Bunny on its retro-styled M79 Automatic, with the cartoon rabbit lounging at the bottom of the black dial and a carrot-shaped seconds hand supplying the watch’s central joke. The Timex x Looney Tunes edition pairs that character design with the M79’s automatic movement and day-date display.
What makes the Bugs Bunny M79 different
The watch is the Timex x Looney Tunes Bugs Bunny M79 Automatic—not a separate Q Timex 1979 Reissue. Gear Patrol describes the M79 as the automatic counterpart to that quartz reissue and says the M79 debuted in 2020.
Bugs appears low on the dial, beneath the central hands. The carrot seconds hand points to the markers as it moves, while the dial also carries Bugs’s signature and the year 1940. An exhibition caseback shows the movement and bears Timex and Looney Tunes co-branding.
Design and reported specifications
Gear Patrol’s October 2026 report describes a 40 mm stainless-steel case around a black dial, with round, triangular and baton markers and a day-date window at 3 o’clock. Luminous markers and hands aid visibility; a black 60-minute rotating bezel frames the dial, and a domed acrylic crystal covers it.

It borrows a familiar look, but it is not a dive watch
Gear Patrol says the M79 takes styling cues from the Rolex Submariner, but that resemblance does not make it a Rolex product or an equivalent watch. The report explicitly says the M79 is not a dive watch. Its reported 50 m water-resistance rating should not be read as a claim that it is suitable for scuba diving.

At publication, Gear Patrol reported that END. listed the Bugs Bunny M79 for $405 in the United States and that the watch was available through Timex international sites. That is a dated snapshot, not confirmation of today’s price or stock. The report does not establish current U.S. availability from Timex, which international markets carried it, or whether Amazon offered this exact edition.
