When is the Mitsubishi ASX VR-e coming to Australia?
Mitsubishi announced on 17 August 2026 that the ASX VR-e would launch in Australia and New Zealand during 2026. WhichCar/Wheels reported on 2 October that Australian showroom arrival was expected in late 2026; the precise date was not stated. Mitsubishi says the vehicle is supplied on an OEM basis by Foxtron Vehicle Technologies, a subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision Industry, also known as Foxconn. Mitsubishi’s announcement describes it as a battery-electric small SUV.
How fast is the ASX VR-e?
WhichCar/Wheels reports a claimed 0–100km/h time of 3.9 seconds for the dual-motor GSR. The report describes it as the fastest-accelerating Mitsubishi officially sold in Australia. This is a reported claim, not an independently tested result.

WhichCar/Wheels says the GSR adds a front motor to the rear-drive setup. Its Sport mode can alter the front-to-rear torque split. Eco, Comfort and Sport are the reported drive modes. What battery and charging details have been reported?
WhichCar/Wheels reports a 57.7kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery across all four grades, maximum DC charging of 134kW and AC charging of 6.6kW. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality is reported as standard, allowing the vehicle to supply power to compatible external equipment.
The report does not establish the Australian charging connector, whether a cable or charger is included, or compatibility with a particular home charger. Check final Australian specifications before choosing charging equipment.

What is the ASX VR-e’s range and price?
Neither Australian driving range nor pricing had been confirmed in WhichCar/Wheels’ 2 October 2026 report. No Australian figure can be stated from the available launch details, and New Zealand pricing should not be treated as Australian pricing. Mitsubishi said further specifications were expected closer to showroom arrival.

Reported cabin equipment includes a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 9.2-inch instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live services and over-the-air updates. Physical switches are retained for frequently used functions. What does Mitsubishi say about the vehicle’s development?
Mitsubishi says its engineers tested the vehicle on local roads and applied dedicated suspension tuning. It also identifies the S-duct and active grille shutters as aerodynamic features. Those are manufacturer descriptions; they do not establish independent handling or efficiency results.
The company says “ASX” carries forward the Active Sports Crossover nameplate. “VR-e” references the Galant VR-4 performance heritage, with “e” referring to electrified technology. The Australian vehicle is supplied by Foxtron on an OEM basis, according to Mitsubishi’s 17 August 2026 announcement.
