If you regularly carry bulky luggage, compare the actual space and luggage shape you need with the vehicle in person. Mahindra’s comparison points buyers who need more cargo practicality toward the five-door ROXX, but does not establish a numeric OG-versus-ROXX boot-volume comparison.
What safety equipment does the Thar OG get?
Equipment varies by grade. Mahindra’s 22 September 2026 launch release highlights six airbags, an ESP 9.3 suite, front parking sensors and all-disc brakes, but its feature table assigns different equipment to AXT and ZXT. The table lists AXT with dual airbags and front disc/rear drum brakes; ZXT adds four HPTS airbags, bringing the total to six, as well as front parking sensors, TPMS, a rear camera and front/rear disc brakes. Check the specification for the exact grade rather than assuming every launch-highlighted feature is standard across the range.

Which Thar OG variant and price should you check?
Mahindra’s 22 September 2026 launch release stated an introductory ex-showroom starting price of ₹10.32 lakh, valid for deliveries until 30 November 2026; it said deliveries would begin on 11 October 2026. These are time-limited launch terms, not an on-road price or a guarantee of the current price. Mahindra’s online selector says prices are indicative, may change, and that prices at invoicing or delivery prevail; location-specific charges may apply.
The launch feature table names AXT, LXT and ZXT grades. It also marks some capability equipment by drivetrain: the electronic locking differential and terrain modes are listed for 4WD, while terrain assist appears for specified RWD engines. A washable floor with drain plugs is listed only for 4WD. Confirm the live specification and price for the exact engine, drivetrain and transmission before booking.

Should family buyers compare the Thar OG with the Thar ROXX?
Yes, if frequent rear-seat use or luggage space is a priority. Use the comparison to assess the way you will actually travel:
- Rear-seat access: the OG has three doors; the ROXX has five, making rear access easier.
- Passenger use: consider how often rear passengers will ride and how long those trips will be. Mahindra describes the ROXX’s rear-seat practicality as greater, but the reviewed comparison does not provide a measured comfort assessment.
