Do not buy a used Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ in Noida on range, appearance or a seller’s verbal battery assurance alone. Identify the exact battery and charging hardware from the VIN, invoice and vehicle menus; perform a live AC charging test (and DC test when practical); obtain a Mahindra diagnostic report with battery-health or fault information; then inspect the structure, underbody, suspension, tyres, brakes, software, cameras and driver-assistance sensors.
Before paying, match the VIN and chassis identifiers with the registration certificate (RC), insurance, service invoices, odometer and finance-release documents. Get Mahindra’s written, VIN-specific confirmation of any remaining battery warranty and its transfer to you. The sequence below is designed for Noida traffic, hot weather, monsoon water exposure and uneven roads.

1. Prepare before travelling to see the car
A serious seller should provide enough information for you to decide whether the inspection trip is worthwhile. Request these items in advance, preferably as clear photographs or scans:
- VIN/chassis-number plate and the vehicle identification shown in the infotainment or instrument menus.
- Both sides of the RC, current insurance certificate and the seller’s identity matching the registered owner or an authorised representative.
- Service invoices, repair orders, software-update records and the latest odometer photograph.
- The battery-size designation, charging equipment supplied with the car, and photographs of the EVSE, cable and wall-box paperwork.
- A written declaration of collisions, flood or water exposure, underbody impact, replaced battery parts and any outstanding warning light.
Tell the seller that the purchase depends on an inspection at a Mahindra authorised service centre, including a high-voltage (HV) battery diagnostic scan. A refusal to allow that inspection, to share the VIN, or to show the car charging is a practical reason to walk away.

2. Confirm the car’s identity and exterior condition
Match every identifier
Locate the VIN plate and any etched or stamped identifiers, then compare them character-for-character with the RC and original invoice. A mismatch, altered plate, damaged stamping or unexplained replacement body panel requires clarification before any deposit. Record the VIN yourself rather than relying on a seller-transcribed number.
Look for accident, repair and water evidence
Inspect the car in daylight on a dry surface. Compare paint colour and texture across adjacent panels, looking for overspray on rubber, inconsistent orange-peel texture, uneven panel gaps, replaced lamps and fasteners with tool marks. Check whether the windscreen date is inconsistent with the vehicle’s age; a replacement may be legitimate, but ask why it was changed and whether the forward camera was recalibrated afterward.
Open the bonnet, boot and doors and search seams, carpets and spare-storage areas for corrosion, mud lines, damp odour or water staining. Examine the floor and visible suspension mounting points for ripples or fresh underseal. Look underneath for bent shields, scraped battery protection, crushed jacking points, leaks, exposed wiring and impact marks. Water lines or corrosion around connectors deserve a specialist HV inspection, not a discount-based guess.
Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down

Operate each charge-port door and its locking mechanism. The inlet should be clean and dry, with no bent or recessed pins, heat discolouration, cracked plastic, moisture or looseness. Confirm that the vehicle recognises a connected plug and that the lock releases normally. A port that only works intermittently can turn a seemingly good car into an expensive repair.
3. Identify the battery and charging configuration
Mahindra’s 2026 owner manual lists 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh battery options for the BE 6. The same documentation lists a 3 kW EVSE, 7.2 kW and 11 kW wall-box options, and an 11 kW onboard charger. Do not assume the pack size from the trim name, estimated range or a seller’s advertisement: verify it in the VIN-linked records, invoice and vehicle menus.

| Item to verify | Configurations documented by Mahindra | What to record on this car |
|---|---|---|
| Traction battery | 59 kWh, 70 kWh or 79 kWh | VIN-specific variant, menu display and invoice designation |
| Portable EVSE | 3 kW | Present, undamaged, correctly rated and included in the sale |
| Wall-box options | 7.2 kW or 11 kW | Installed equipment, cable, breaker and ownership documentation |
| Onboard AC charger | 11 kW | Whether the car accepts the expected AC power during a live test |
For the 59 kWh version, Mahindra’s 2025 brochure states 20–80% charging in 20 minutes with a 140 kW DC charger. That is a quoted capability under the stated charger and vehicle conditions, not proof that every used car will achieve it. Record the actual power shown during your test and investigate a large shortfall rather than treating the brochure figure as a guarantee.
4. Test battery health and charging properly
Run a controlled AC session
- Photograph the starting state of charge (SOC), displayed range, battery temperature or power-limit message if shown, and the odometer.
- Use the seller’s supplied EVSE or a known-good compatible cable. Confirm the cable and connector rating; a Type 2 EV charging cable or portable cable must match the vehicle inlet and the intended kW rating.
- Plug in, lock the car and verify that charging starts without repeated retries, warning messages or abnormal connector heat.
- After a meaningful interval, record starting and ending SOC, displayed charging power, elapsed time and any thermal or isolation warning. Check the inlet and plug for unusual warmth, smell or discolouration.
- Stop charging normally, unlock the connector and confirm that the charge-port lock releases without force.
Add a DC test when practical
A DC session can reveal communication, thermal-management and power-delivery problems that an overnight AC test may not. Note the charger’s delivered power, the SOC at which power tapers, connector temperature and every warning. Do not repeatedly fast-charge a suspect vehicle merely to produce a number; a controlled session followed by a diagnostic scan is safer and more informative.

Ask a Mahindra authorised service centre to scan the vehicle and provide the HV-battery state-of-health value, fault history, isolation results and any battery-management-system alerts in writing. Dashboard estimated range is affected by recent driving, climate use, tyre pressure, temperature and driving style, so it cannot establish battery health on its own. The available published material does not set a universal VIN-independent state-of-health pass threshold; the service centre must interpret this car’s data.
5. Examine wheels, tyres, brakes and suspension
Tyres and wheels
Verify the tyre specification against the manual: 245/60 R18 is listed, with 245/55 R19 as an optional specification. Check all four tyres for tread depth, even wear, sidewall cuts, bulges, repairs and DOT manufacturing age. Uneven inner-edge wear can indicate alignment, worn suspension or accident damage. Confirm that all wheels are the same approved size and inspect rims for bends or cracks, especially after Noida pothole impacts.
Brakes and steering
Look at disc surfaces for heavy lips, deep scoring or corrosion and check for brake-fluid leaks around callipers and lines. During the road test, the pedal should be firm and braking should be predictable when regenerative braking blends into friction braking. With the car stationary, check for excessive steering play; at low speed, listen for clicking or knocks while turning.

Suspension and underbody
Press each corner and compare rebound and ride height. Drive slowly over a controlled uneven section and listen for repeated knocks, creaks or a metallic impact. Inspect dampers, bushes, exposed cables, battery shielding and mounting points from below. Any impact close to the battery enclosure warrants a documented HV inspection even if the pack still charges.
6. Check the cabin, software and every supplied item
Controls and comfort
Start the vehicle from cold and verify that both displays boot without dead pixels, flicker or persistent errors. Test touch response, audio, Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay where fitted. Operate every window, mirror, seat adjustment, light, wiper, horn and climate-control function. Confirm that heating and cooling begin promptly and that the fan does not produce unusual vibration or odour.
Test all key fobs, physical and digital locking functions, charging timers and scheduled-climate settings. Count the keys, charging cables, EVSE, adapters and other accessories that will be written into the sale agreement. A missing key or proprietary cable should be priced as a replacement, not treated as an informal extra.
Cameras and driver assistance
Test the reversing camera and, where equipped, the 360-degree or 540-degree views from every angle. Check for blurred images, misaligned guidelines, blank sectors and dirt behind camera lenses. Inspect the windscreen area in front of the forward camera and the bumper zones containing radar sensors for replacement glass, paintwork, cracks or impacts. Ask for calibration records after any windscreen or bumper repair.
Equipment varies by vehicle. Confirm which ADAS functions are actually present, then test that warnings clear after a restart and that no sensor fault remains. Mahindra’s manual states: “ADAS only provides assistance to the driver, it neither replaces the driver nor is a substitute.” Treat lane, collision, adaptive-cruise and parking functions as driver assistance, never as autonomous driving.

7. Conduct a representative Noida road test
Plan a route that includes stop-start traffic, a smooth arterial road and legal, representative broken surfaces. Obtain permission before disabling or changing any assistance setting, and keep both hands and full attention on driving.
- Tracking and steering: The car should travel straight without persistent pull, steering-centre offset or delayed return after a turn.
- Ride and noise: Listen for suspension knocks, tyre roar, rattles and wind noise that may indicate damage or loose trim.
- Acceleration: Check for smooth, repeatable response and note any power-limit, thermal or drivetrain warning.
- Regeneration: Cycle through the available regenerative levels and verify consistent deceleration when lifting off.
- One-pedal mode: If fitted, confirm predictable low-speed behaviour and that the vehicle does not unexpectedly creep or stop short of the selected response.
- Brake blending: Apply light, medium and firm braking. Feel for pulsing, a changeover jolt or a pedal that sinks.
- Heat and traffic: After congestion or repeated acceleration, check for temperature, charging or reduced-power messages.
Do not use an ADAS demonstration as evidence that the vehicle can drive itself. A warning that appears only on a particular road may still indicate a camera, radar, alignment or software issue that needs diagnosis.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.8. Match documents before payment
Ownership and finance
Compare the VIN, registered owner’s name, RC details, insurance policy, service invoices and odometer chronology. Look for unexplained mileage gaps, duplicate invoices or long periods with no recorded service. Obtain a finance-hypothecation release or lender no-dues documentation where applicable; do not accept a promise that it will be supplied after payment.
Accident, flood and repair history
Have the seller list collisions, insurance claims, airbag deployment, battery or motor replacement, flood exposure, structural repairs and open recalls in writing. Reconcile that statement with invoices, paint evidence, diagnostic faults and the underbody inspection.
Warranty transfer
Warranty eligibility depends on the individual vehicle’s VIN, delivery date, service compliance, terms and any previous repair. Model-level information cannot settle whether a second owner is covered. Before paying a deposit, obtain written confirmation from Mahindra of the remaining battery-warranty coverage and whether it transfers to you, including exclusions and required service records.

9. Compare two candidate BE 6 cars consistently
When two cars appear similar, score the same evidence rather than choosing the lower odometer or asking price.
| Comparison area | Evidence to rank |
|---|---|
| Battery | Verified 59/70/79 kWh configuration, written diagnostic health and fault history |
| Warranty | VIN-specific remaining coverage and confirmed transfer terms |
| Charging | Included EVSE or wall-box equipment, ratings and successful AC/DC tests |
| Condition | Accident, flood and underbody findings; tyre, brake and suspension wear |
| Technology | Software stability, cameras, radar condition and ADAS operation |
| Records | Complete service history, consistent odometer and documented repairs |
| Transaction | Clear ownership, finance release and total cost after repairs and transfer |
Mahindra reported a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for the BE 6 in 2025, but that safety rating does not certify the condition of a particular used example. A damaged sensor, worn tyre or compromised battery enclosure still requires repair regardless of the model’s original rating.

10. Red flags that should stop the transaction
- VIN, RC or invoice mismatch, altered identification or an owner who cannot explain the chain of title.
- Seller refuses an authorised-service inspection, diagnostic scan or charging demonstration.
- Charge-port heat marks, bent pins, moisture, repeated charging failures or unexplained power limits.
- Battery-health data is withheld and the seller insists that displayed range is sufficient proof.
- Flood lines, corrosion, severe underbody impact or structural-repair evidence.
- Persistent camera, radar, airbag, battery or drivetrain warnings after restart.
- Missing finance release, incomplete insurance paperwork or undocumented accident and odometer history.
Proceed only when the car’s identity, battery condition, charging performance, physical condition, records and warranty position are documented. Treat every promised repair, accessory, key and charging component as part of the written agreement, with a completion date and responsibility for payment.
