For viewers in the United States, Apple TV is the official live-streaming home of the 2026 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix. The race is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. local time at Circuit Zandvoort. Practice is confirmed to be available free in the Apple TV app, but Apple has not yet confirmed that the Dutch Grand Prix race itself will be free to non-subscribers.

That means there are three different ways to interpret “free”: free practice, an Apple TV trial for eligible new subscribers, and a race that Apple explicitly marks as free. Do not assume the third option until the event listing in the Apple TV app confirms it.
Quick answer: where to stream the Dutch Grand Prix
- U.S. viewers: Watch the official live coverage on Apple TV, which becomes Formula 1’s exclusive U.S. home for the 2026 season.
- Free access: All practice sessions are listed as free. Selected race weekends may also be free, but the Dutch Grand Prix has not been identified as a free race in the official information reviewed.
- Free-trial option: Eligible new Apple TV subscribers may qualify for a seven-day trial. Check the current offer, renewal price, and eligibility before signing up.
- Viewers in the Netherlands: Viaplay Netherlands advertises live coverage of the full 2026 F1 season, including the Dutch Grand Prix.
- Illegal streams: Avoid unverified mirror sites and pop-up streaming pages. They can expose you to malware, scams, intrusive advertising, and unreliable coverage.
2026 Dutch Grand Prix schedule

U.S. schedule conversions may be published by Apple or Formula 1 closer to race weekend. Some third-party listings place the race at approximately 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time, but treat that as a provisional conversion until the final Apple or Formula 1 event listing confirms the time. The U.S. start time can vary by time zone, and daylight-saving rules should be checked before setting a reminder.
Is the Dutch Grand Prix free to watch on Apple TV?
The race’s free status is not confirmed. Apple’s 2026 Formula 1 announcement says that all practice sessions and selected races will be available free in the Apple TV app. Apple’s F1 viewing information also says that every practice session is available without a subscription and that selected race weekends may be free.
However, the official pages reviewed do not name the Netherlands Grand Prix as one of those selected free race weekends. The most accurate advice is:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Check the Dutch Grand Prix event page in the U.S. Apple TV app immediately before race weekend. If Apple labels the race as free, you should be able to watch it without an Apple TV subscription. If it is not marked free, you will need an eligible trial or a paid subscription to watch the live race legally.
Do not rely on headlines promising a guaranteed “free Dutch Grand Prix live stream” unless they point to an active Apple listing that specifically includes the race.
How to watch the race legally in the U.S.
Option 1: Use an Apple TV subscription
Apple TV is the official U.S. provider for the 2026 Formula 1 season. Its coverage is scheduled to include every Grand Prix, practice session, qualifying session, Sprint, and race live and on demand. The Dutch Grand Prix is included in that 2026 calendar coverage.
Apple’s current Formula 1 page displays a price of $12.99 per month after a seven-day free trial. Prices, trial availability, and eligibility can change, so confirm the terms on the Apple sign-up screen rather than relying on an older offer.

- Ultra-speedy streaming: Roku Ultra is 30% faster than any other Roku player, delivering a lightning-fast interface and apps that launch in a snap.
- Cinematic streaming: This TV streaming device brings the movie theater to your living room with spectacular 4K, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision picture alongside immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
- The ultimate Roku remote: The rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro offers backlit buttons, hands-free voice controls, and a lost remote finder.
- No more fumbling in the dark: See what you’re pressing with backlit buttons.
- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
With a subscription, you can watch the sessions live and return to the on-demand versions if the race starts at an inconvenient time. Apple also says U.S. subscribers receive access to F1 TV Premium features through their Apple Account at no additional cost.
Option 2: Use the seven-day trial, if eligible
An eligible new subscriber may be able to use Apple’s seven-day trial to cover the Dutch Grand Prix weekend. This is a trial-based viewing route, not proof that the race is permanently free.
- Open the Apple TV app or the Apple TV website in the United States.
- Find the Formula 1 channel or Dutch Grand Prix event page.
- Review the displayed trial terms and the subscription price after the trial.
- Confirm that the trial lasts through the race and that your account qualifies.
- If you do not want the subscription to renew, cancel according to Apple’s displayed instructions before the renewal date.
Do not create multiple accounts or attempt to bypass Apple’s eligibility rules. Trial terms can depend on your Apple Account, prior subscriptions, promotions, and region.
Option 3: Watch free practice
Apple’s current F1 information confirms that every practice session is available without a subscription. This gives viewers a legitimate free way to follow the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, but it does not automatically include Sprint qualifying, the Sprint, qualifying, or the main race.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhen the weekend appears in the Apple TV app, check each session separately. A free practice listing should not be treated as confirmation that the Sunday Grand Prix is also free.
Devices that support Apple TV’s F1 coverage
Apple says its U.S. Formula 1 coverage can be accessed through the Apple TV app on a range of devices, including:
- Apple TV 4K and other supported Apple TV hardware
- iPhone and iPad
- Mac computers and supported web browsers
- Compatible smart TVs
- Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices
- Chromecast with Google TV
- PlayStation and Xbox consoles
- Other streaming hardware supported by Apple
You do not need an Apple TV 4K device to watch the Dutch Grand Prix. The stream can also be viewed through the web, mobile devices, supported smart TVs, streaming sticks, and game consoles.

- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, so you can switch from streaming to gaming with ease. Plus, it’s designed to stay hidden behind your TV, keeping wires neatly out of sight
If your television does not support the Apple TV app and you want a dedicated streaming box, an Apple TV 4K is an optional way to watch Apple TV on a television. It is viewing hardware, not a requirement for the F1 subscription, and buying the device does not by itself provide free access to the race.
What about F1 TV Pro in the United States?
F1 TV Pro is Formula 1’s live product in selected countries. Depending on location, it can include live sessions, replays, highlights, live timing, onboard cameras, team radio, and additional F1 programming.
For U.S. viewers in 2026, Apple’s announcement says F1 TV Premium features are available through an Apple TV subscription and included for Apple TV subscribers. Do not assume that a separate standalone F1 TV Pro purchase is available in the United States. Check the F1 account page for your location before attempting to subscribe.
In practical terms, U.S. viewers should start with Apple TV rather than buying an F1 TV Pro plan based on information from another country. F1 streaming rights are territorial and can change by season.
How to watch the Dutch Grand Prix in the Netherlands
Viewers physically located in the Netherlands have a different official-market option. Viaplay Netherlands advertises live coverage of all 2026 Formula 1 Grands Prix, including practice, qualifying, Sprint races, and the main Grand Prix, with Dutch studio programming and commentary.

It is also not the normal route for viewers in the United States; U.S. rights information points American viewers to Apple TV.
How to verify free access before race day
Because Apple has not yet named the Dutch Grand Prix as a free race weekend, use this checklist before the August 23 race:
Rank #4
- 4K streaming made simple:With America’s number 1 TV streaming platform,* exploring popular apps—plus tons of free movies, shows, and live TV—is as easy as it is fun. *Based on hours streamed—Hypothesis Group
- 4K picture quality: With Roku Streaming Stick Plus, watch your favorites with brilliant 4K picture and vivid HDR color.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- Open the Apple TV app while signed in to the Apple Account you intend to use.
- Search for “Formula 1” or “Dutch Grand Prix.”
- Open the specific 2026 Netherlands Grand Prix event page, not just the general F1 channel page.
- Check whether the Sunday Grand Prix is labeled free, included with a subscription, or locked behind a subscription.
- Check the same information on the device where you plan to watch. App displays and device support can differ.
- Confirm the start time using the final Apple or Formula 1 schedule.
- Test playback before the race begins, especially if you are using a smart TV, console, browser, or streaming device.
If the race is locked, the legal choices are an eligible Apple TV trial or a paid subscription. If the event is explicitly labeled free, follow Apple’s sign-in and playback instructions without entering payment details unless Apple requires them for that promotion.
Common problems and fixes
The Apple TV app shows practice but not the race
This may be normal if Apple has made practice free but has not made the Grand Prix free. Open the race listing and check whether it requires an Apple TV subscription. Do not assume that a free practice stream unlocks the entire weekend.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The race is unavailable in your country
Streaming rights are based on location. A service advertised in the Netherlands may not be available as the U.S. rights-holder, and an F1 TV product available in one country may not be sold in another. Use the official service for the country where you are watching.
The stream will not play on your TV
Check that the Apple TV app is supported on the television and that it is updated. If not, use a supported Roku, Amazon Fire TV device, Chromecast with Google TV, game console, Apple device with casting or screen-sharing support, or a web browser connected to the television. An Apple TV 4K can also provide a dedicated Apple TV app, but it is optional.
You cannot find F1 TV Premium features
Sign in with the Apple Account associated with the Apple TV subscription, then check the Formula 1 account and app instructions for the current access flow. Apple and Formula 1 may change how the linked features are activated before the 2026 season.
What not to do
- Do not treat an unverified streaming site as an official free broadcast.
- Do not download an unknown “player,” browser extension, or APK to access a race stream.
- Do not assume a VPN will provide legitimate access to another country’s broadcast. It may conflict with territorial rights or a platform’s terms.
- Do not assume that a free-trial offer applies to every Apple Account.
- Do not purchase a separate F1 TV Pro subscription in the U.S. without first confirming that the plan is available for your location.
Bottom line
For U.S. viewers, Apple TV is the official way to watch the 2026 Netherlands Formula 1 Grand Prix live. The event is scheduled for August 21–23 at Circuit Zandvoort, with the Grand Prix on Sunday, August 23, at 1:00 p.m. local time.
Practice is confirmed free, but the Dutch race itself is not yet confirmed as a free-to-non-subscribers event. Check the Apple TV event page immediately before race day. If Apple has not designated the race free, an eligible seven-day trial or a paid Apple TV subscription will be required. Viewers in the Netherlands should check Viaplay Netherlands instead.
