The verified update is strongest for Paul Sr., Paul Jr., Vinnie DiMartino and Jason Pohl; for several other fan favorites, the honest answer is that their present work is not reliably public.
American Chopper made the Teutuls and Orange County Choppers’ builders household names, but their post-show paths did not all remain equally public. The clearest current picture is that Paul Teutul Sr., Paul Teutul Jr., Vinnie DiMartino and Jason Pohl still have publicly described work; for Mikey Teutul and Rick Petko, a responsible answer is more limited.
Who counts as the “original cast”?
There is no official, fixed “original cast” list for a franchise that evolved over many years. For this update, that phrase means the original Teutul-family leads—Paul Sr., Paul Jr. and Mikey—plus early recurring OCC builders closely associated with the show’s original run: Vinnie DiMartino, Rick Petko, Cody Connelly and Jason Pohl. It does not mean every person who worked at Orange County Choppers later.
Paul Teutul Sr. is still the public face of Orange County Choppers
Paul Teutul Sr. remains identified publicly as the owner of Orange County Choppers. OCC Road House’s current crew page describes OCC as having been founded in 1999 at its former Newburgh, New York, facility, while the Florida-facing operation continues to promote appearances, merchandise, partnerships and motorcycle events.

Most notably, the current OCC Road House site advertises a 2026 OCC Invitational Bike Show. That supports a straightforward conclusion: Paul Sr. and the OCC brand remain active in the motorcycle-event world. It does not, by itself, establish that he personally built any particular recent motorcycle, that he has retired from day-to-day work, or that another American Chopper season has been confirmed.
Paul Teutul Jr. runs a design business that reaches beyond motorcycles
Paul Teutul Jr. continues to operate Paul Jr. Designs. The company presents his work as broader than the custom motorcycles that made him famous on television, encompassing vehicle design, products, cars, art and apparel.
That broader identity is visible in the projects the business promotes. A current Paul Jr. Designs page, for example, features a Troopers United Foundation challenge coin collaboration and says PJD will donate 100% of net proceeds from that item to the foundation. It is a specific current project, rather than evidence for assumptions about the scale of the company or every item it produces.
The important distinction from the show’s early premise is that Paul Jr. is not publicly presenting himself only as an OCC alumnus or motorcycle fabricator. Paul Jr. Designs is a wider design practice built around the same visual and fabrication background viewers remember.
Vinnie DiMartino moved his focus back to vehicle repair
Vinnie DiMartino’s own company history provides one of the most detailed updates among the early builders. It says he joined Orange County Choppers in 2002, left shortly after 2006 and partnered with Cody Connelly in V-Force Customs in 2007. He later returned to television during American Chopper: Junior vs. Senior.

His present business description is more grounded than a reality-TV comeback narrative. The biography says he renamed the business DiMartino Motorsports in 2013 and returned to automotive work away from the cameras. DiMartino Motorsports is described as handling automobile, truck and fleet service and repair.
There is also DiMartino Industries, launched by Vinnie and his cousin Joey in 2022. That business specializes in apparel and customized vehicles used in giveaway promotions. Together, the two descriptions point to a career centered on working with vehicles and operating related businesses—not simply revisiting the OCC years.
Jason Pohl still presents himself as an industrial designer
Jason Pohl, the artist whose renderings helped define many of OCC’s most recognizable builds, continues to work as an industrial designer. His biography says he studied at the Illinois Institute of Art, previously worked as an artist and animator in games, and has been OCC’s lead designer since 2004.

That is a meaningful current professional description, especially because his site also invites design-work inquiries. Still, the biography should not be stretched into claims about a newly announced television return, a named 2026 OCC build or a specific recent assignment that it does not identify.
Cody Connelly remains connected to DiMartino’s circle, but his current role is not verified
Cody Connelly was one of the most memorable young builders associated with the show, and DiMartino Industries’ current crew biography still places him in the DiMartino circle: it says Vinnie, Joey and Cody spend their downtime cooking, riding and being with their families.

That is enough to establish a continuing public association. It is not enough to identify Connelly’s present employer, title, business or level of television involvement. Claims that he currently runs a particular excavation, welding, motorcycle or utility business require a contemporaneous, independent source before they should be published as fact.
Mikey Teutul and Rick Petko have kept their current professional lives comparatively private
Mikey Teutul was central to American Chopper’s family dynamic, and Discovery’s revival-era framing still treated him as one of the core Teutul figures. But no recent reliable public source located for this article establishes his current professional role, an art business, a project or an OCC job. Older coverage is history, not proof of what he does today.

The same reporting limit applies to Rick Petko. He is an appropriate early recurring builder to include when discussing the show’s recognizable original crew, but no reliable recent source identified a current employer, business, location or project. Rather than recycle old employer information or social-media speculation, the accurate update is that he has remained comparatively private.

In 2020, Discovery announced an August 4 special in which Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. revisited the old building and took on a joint bike build. It was a notable reunion for viewers who had watched their relationship drive much of the series.
It should not be mistaken for proof that OCC and Paul Jr. Designs subsequently became one company or that the father and son now work together routinely. The latest public business descriptions in this update continue to treat Orange County Choppers and Paul Jr. Designs as distinct operations.

The real answer is less tidy than a reunion slideshow
The enduring appeal of American Chopper is clear: its mix of fabrication, deadlines and Teutul-family conflict made custom motorcycles feel like prime-time drama. Its alumni, however, did not all take the same public route after the cameras.
Current public evidence supports active, identifiable business roles for Paul Sr., Paul Jr., Vinnie DiMartino and Jason Pohl. It supports only a limited association update for Cody Connelly. And for Mikey Teutul and Rick Petko, it supports restraint. That unevenness is not a gap to paper over—it is the most accurate account of where the original crew stands today.
For viewers who want to revisit the series itself, an American Chopper DVD is the most directly relevant physical-media purchase; check the live listing for the exact edition, region compatibility, stock and price before buying.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is included in the original American Chopper cast?
There is no official fixed roster. This article uses the term for the Teutul family leads and early recurring OCC builders most associated with the original run: Paul Sr., Paul Jr., Mikey, Vinnie DiMartino, Rick Petko, Cody Connelly and Jason Pohl.
Do Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. work together now?
Discovery announced a 2020 special in which Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. reunited for a joint bike build. That documented collaboration does not establish that their businesses later merged or that they work together routinely.
What is Cody Connelly doing now?
Current public evidence in this reporting identifies him as connected to the DiMartino circle, but it does not reliably establish his present job, employer or business.
The Bottom Line
Some of American Chopper’s best-known figures still run visible businesses, while others have chosen or maintained a lower public profile. Where current evidence stops, the honest update should stop too.
