“My first car was a 1968 Volkswagen Bus,” Iglesias said during GQ’s 2022 collection tour. He explained that his brother helped him get it, and that he later wanted the first car back. People connected with Jay Leno helped him find a bus; more followed. Iglesias said it took a little under a year to collect the buses shown in that tour.

In a 2025 Los Angeles Times interview, Iglesias again connected the collection’s growth to getting a 1968 Volkswagen bus after his first one. The thread is personal as much as automotive: the collection grew from a return to a car tied to his early life.

GQ’s tour identifies one bus as a 1968 Bay Window Bus. Iglesias contrasts it with split-window buses elsewhere in the collection. The distinction is visible in the front windshield design: the Bay Window has a single broad windshield, while the earlier split-window style has two panes separated by a central divider.

How many Volkswagen buses does Gabriel Iglesias have?
Ford Motor Company reported “nearly 30” Volkswagen buses in its March 25, 2026 article. That is Ford’s description of a growing collection, not a published audited inventory or a precise count. GQ’s 2022 tour includes Iglesias’s humorous description of his Long Beach compound as a “one bedroom, 80 car garage”; that phrase describes the space, not a confirmed number of cars.

What Fords are associated with Iglesias?

Does Gabriel Iglesias have a Volkswagen bus museum?

Does Gabriel Iglesias own a Volkswagen ID. Buzz?
Volkswagen of America said Iglesias was the first U.S. owner of its all-electric ID. Buzz. The company connected that modern van to his history with the 1968 Microbus. The ID. Buzz is a contemporary electric vehicle, not a mechanical equivalent of the vintage buses in his collection.
