F1 23 can still be installed on Windows 11 if you already own it through the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games Store, or have a valid product code. However, it is no longer available to buy on Steam: the store page now says that F1 23 is “no longer available on the Steam store.”
The correct installation method depends on where your license is registered. There is no official standalone F1 23 EXE download; the game is delivered through the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games Launcher.

Check whether your Windows 11 PC can run F1 23
F1 23’s published requirements refer to 64-bit Windows 10 version 21H1 or later rather than Windows 11 by name. A supported 64-bit Windows 11 installation meets that operating-system requirement, but your hardware still needs to meet the game’s CPU, GPU, memory, and storage requirements.

Ray tracing has higher requirements. The minimum ray-tracing GPUs listed are a GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 6700 XT. Recommended ray-tracing hardware is a GeForce RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800. For VR, F1 23 lists an Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, together with a GTX 1660 Ti or RX 590.

To check your Windows version and system type, press Windows + R, enter winver, and press Enter. For a basic hardware check, open Settings > System > About. Make sure the installation drive is formatted as NTFS rather than FAT32; FAT32 cannot store individual files larger than 4 GB.
Install F1 23 through the EA app
This is the normal route for a license purchased directly from EA or a product code redeemed to an EA Account.
- Download and install the current EA app for Windows from EA’s official website.
- Open the EA app and sign in.
- Use the EA Account that owns F1 23.
- Enter F1 23 in the search bar.
- Select the game from the results and choose Download.
- Choose the installation drive and confirm the install location.
- Track the process in the EA app’s Download Manager.
- When installation finishes, open the game from Installed games.
Origin is not the correct Windows client. EA replaced Origin with the EA app, which supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs.

F1 23 does not appear in the EA app
If searching for F1 23 produces no result, or the game is absent from your Library, the signed-in EA Account probably does not have the entitlement. Sign out and back in with the account used to buy or redeem the game. If you bought the game through Steam or Epic, verify that the correct platform account is linked to that EA Account.

Install an owned Steam copy on Windows 11
You cannot currently make a new Steam purchase while Steam displays its “no longer available on the Steam store” notice. A previous purchase should remain in the Steam account’s Library.
- Open Steam.
- Select Library.
- Choose F1 23.
- Select the installation control shown by Steam, or double-click the game.
- Choose the installation drive and allow Steam to download the files.
- When EA’s sign-in or linking prompt appears, install or open the EA app.
- Sign in with the EA Account linked to the relevant Steam account.
F1 23 requires an EA Account when launched through Steam and uses Denuvo Anti-Tamper. Linking a different EA Account can prevent the game from appearing or launching correctly. Adding a downloaded game folder as a non-Steam game does not restore ownership, provide Steam updates, or bypass the EA account requirement; it only creates a shortcut.
Install an owned Epic Games copy
- Open the Epic Games Launcher.
- Open Library.
- Select F1 23.
- Click Install and choose the destination folder.
- Install or launch the EA app when Epic requests it.
- Sign in to the EA Account you want linked to Epic.
- Complete the account-linking prompt, then wait for Epic and EA to finish preparing the game.
The Epic Games account and EA Account must be linked correctly on the first launch. If the wrong EA Account is selected, stop before completing the link and resolve the account issue through EA Support rather than creating duplicate accounts.
Redeem an F1 23 product code
A valid product code adds the game entitlement to an EA Account; it does not provide a separate installer. After redemption, download F1 23 through the EA app or the storefront associated with the code.

- Open the EA app and sign in.
- Open Library.
- Use the option to redeem a product code.
- Enter the F1 23 code and confirm.
- Return to the Library and start the download.
Codes from unauthorized key sellers can be region-restricted, already redeemed, revoked, or tied to another account. A code that has already been claimed cannot normally be transferred to a different EA Account.
Fix common F1 23 download problems
EA app download is stuck or F1 23 is missing
Clear the EA app cache first. In the EA app, open the menu icon and select Help > App Recovery > Clear Cache. Restart the app and check the Library again.
If the problem remains, close the EA app, open Control Panel > Uninstall a program, remove the EA app, and reinstall the current version from EA’s official download page. Also try right-clicking the EA app shortcut and selecting Run as administrator.
“Create Folder Error”
This normally indicates that Windows is denying write access to the selected location. Run the EA app as administrator and select a folder on a drive where your Windows account has permission to create and modify files. Avoid protected or restricted folders when choosing a custom game directory.

Download stops at exactly 4 GB
The destination drive is likely formatted as FAT32. FAT32 has a 4 GB limit for a single file, which can stop a large game download at that point. Use an NTFS drive instead. Back up the drive before converting or reformatting it, because reformatting removes its contents.
EA app error EC:10701
EA identifies this as a communication problem that can occur when the app cannot use port 3216. Restart Windows and the EA app first. If the error returns, temporarily disable VPN software and virtual network adapters such as Hyper-V, TAP-Windows, or VMware adapters, then restart the EA app.
Firewall or antivirus blocks the EA app
If security software is preventing downloads or launches, check its allowed-app or exclusion settings for these EA processes:

Only add exclusions if you trust the installation and understand your security software’s settings. Do not download replacement EXE files from unofficial websites.

DirectX or Visual C++ runtime errors
Install pending Windows updates and restart the PC. For missing DirectX components, close the EA app, download Microsoft’s DirectX End-User Runtime Installer, complete the installation, and reopen EA app.
For EA app installer errors INST-14-1603 and INST-14-1612, install the required Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages associated with Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022. Restart Windows and run the EA app installer again.
What not to download
- A “standalone F1 23 EXE”: EA’s supported PC installation routes use the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games Store.
- Origin: Origin has been replaced by the EA app on Windows.
- A new Steam purchase: Steam currently lists F1 23 as unavailable for new purchase.
- An unofficial cracked or repacked copy: These can contain malware, lack legitimate updates, and do not establish ownership with EA.
- A non-Steam shortcut as an ownership workaround: A shortcut does not add the game to a Steam Library or supply Steam entitlement.
FAQ
Can I download F1 23 for free on Windows 11?
Only if you already own a legitimate license or have a valid product code. F1 23 is not an officially free download, and Steam currently does not offer it for new purchase.

Why is F1 23 missing from my EA app Library?
You may be signed in to the wrong EA Account, or the Steam/Epic account may be linked to a different EA Account. Sign in with the account that owns the entitlement and verify the platform-account link.
The Bottom Line
On Windows 11, install F1 23 through the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games Launcher using an account that already owns the game. Steam no longer accepts new F1 23 purchases, and there is no legitimate standalone installer. Before downloading, allow at least 80 GB of NTFS storage, confirm your hardware, and use EA’s cache recovery and account-linking checks if the game does not appear.
