The Christopher Ward C60 Trident is a watch collection, not one unchanged model brought back in a single relaunch. Its improvements arrived across distinct generations: the 2015 Mk II added a 600m-rated Pro 600 and ceramic bezel, the 2019 Mk III introduced the Light-catcher case and triangular hour hand, and the later Pro 300 made the dive watch 1.65mm thinner than the Mk III Pro 600. Christopher Ward’s January 2026 newsletter reported further size and variant additions, but does not establish current stock or pricing.
What is the C60 Trident?
Christopher Ward introduced the C60 Trident Automatic in 2009. The brand’s account describes the original as a 300m water-resistant dive watch with an aluminium bezel, drawing on familiar dive-watch design. The collection has since developed through several generations and branches, so “the new Trident” can refer to different watches with different specifications.

The clearest way to understand the improvements is to separate the original, Mk II, Mk III and the later Pro 300 rather than combine their features into a single specification.
How the Trident changed by generation
| Version | What Christopher Ward says changed | Water resistance and bezel |
|---|---|---|
| Original C60 Trident Automatic, introduced 2009 | Established the Trident as a modern dive watch. | 300m; aluminium bezel. |
| Mk II, introduced 2015 | Added the premium Pro 600 model, changed circular markers to rectangular ones and moved the date to 3 o’clock. | The Pro 600 doubled the original’s rating to 600m and adopted a ceramic bezel. |
| Mk III, introduced 2019 | Brought the Light-catcher case to the Trident, added a triangular hour hand, and refined lume, materials and details. | The available historical account does not provide one rating or bezel specification for every Mk III variant. |
| Later C60 Trident Pro 300 | Responded to requests for a thinner dive watch, with larger, brighter indexes, a redesigned bezel and the twin-flags logo. | 300m; Christopher Ward says it is 1.65mm thinner than the Mk III Pro 600. |
The figures and descriptions in this comparison come from Christopher Ward’s historical handbook and its account of the collection’s evolution; they are not a full specification list for every reference. See the Christopher Ward handbook and the brand’s C60 Trident history post.

What were the Mk III improvements?
Christopher Ward presented the 2019 Mk III as an evolution of the Mk II, not a wholesale redesign. Its most identifiable changes were the Light-catcher case—a case design the company brought to the Trident for this generation—and a triangular hour hand. The brand also points to improved lume, higher-quality materials and small design refinements informed by experience and customer feedback.
The bezel received attention beyond its appearance. Co-founder Mike France described the effort to improve its click: “The search showed that Rolex had by far the best ‘click’ and we set out to at least equal it,” says Mike. “In the end, we didn’t quite succeed but achieved the second-best feel and sound in watchmaking. And we haven’t given up!” This is France’s account of the design aim, not an independent comparative test.
Is the Pro 300 thinner than the Pro 600?
Yes. Christopher Ward states that the later C60 Trident Pro 300 is 1.65mm thinner than the Mk III Pro 600. That comparison is specifically with the Mk III Pro 600; it should not be read as a measurement against every Pro 600 or every Trident reference.

The Pro 300 also has larger, brighter indexes and a redesigned bezel. The brand’s history account lists 38mm, 40mm and 42mm sizes for this version. These characteristics belong to the later Pro 300, not the 2019 Mk III as a whole.
What is in the Trident range now?
A Christopher Ward newsletter archived on January 25, 2026 reported new 44mm Pro 300, GMT and Bronze variants, as well as a black-dial GMT in 40mm and 44mm. It also described Lumière, Reef and Sapphire Edge as other branches of the Trident line. Those are dated collection statements, not confirmation that a particular watch is currently available or at a stated price. The January 25, 2026 newsletter archive is the source for those additions.
