Aston Martin says its road-legal Valkyrie completed Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit in 1:56.42, more than 10 seconds quicker than any other road-legal production car. That is a record claim for the road-car category—not an all-vehicles Silverstone lap record.
What lap time did the Valkyrie set?
Aston Martin reports a lap of 1 minute 56.42 seconds on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. The company calls it a road-legal production-car record. The retrieved Aston Martin account does not state a publication date or provide an independent timing sheet, so the time and record description should be understood as the manufacturer’s claim. Aston Martin’s account.
How does it compare with the previous road-car benchmark?
Evo reported that JCR’s modified Porsche 911 GT2 RS set the previous road-car benchmark at 2:06.83 in 2022. Comparing that reported time with Aston Martin’s 1:56.42 gives a difference of about 10.4 seconds. The cars are not equivalent in specification: the Porsche was modified, while Aston Martin describes the Valkyrie as a standard road-going car. Evo’s coverage.
Aston Martin characterizes the Valkyrie as more than 10 seconds quicker than any other road-legal production car. The comparison is limited to that category and the Grand Prix layout; it does not establish the fastest time by race cars, track-only cars, or every vehicle type to have lapped Silverstone.

Who drove it, and how was the car prepared?
Aston Martin says its official high-performance test driver, Darren Turner, drove the lap in a standard road-going Valkyrie. The car used road-legal Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. The manufacturer says tyre pressures were lowered by a few psi to account for warm-up.
The circuit was dry but “green” after earlier rain, according to Aston Martin, and the usual racing line had been disturbed by a motorcycle event days earlier. Turner said conditions that were kinder might have produced a few more tenths, while adding, “I’m not sure I had anything more to give.” He also praised the tyre’s performance window, saying: “Michelin has produced an incredible tyre, with a huge performance window that a slick racing tyre could never match.” Both quotations are attributed to Turner in Aston Martin’s account.

What performance figures does Aston Martin cite?
On its UK page, Aston Martin lists a 6.5-litre V12, 1,140 bhp, 1,100 kg of downforce and more than 3.3 g in bends. These are manufacturer-stated figures, not independent measurements of the Silverstone lap. They help explain the car’s performance ambition, but the lap report does not isolate how much any single specification or the tyres contributed to the time.

No. In August 2026, Aston Martin announced a separate Silverstone development test of the Valkyrie Hypercar, driven by Ross Gunn and Harry Tincknell. That was a different competition-car configuration and event context, not a new road-car record attempt in the announcement. Aston Martin’s Hypercar test announcement.

What the record claim does—and does not—show
- It does show: Aston Martin reports a 1:56.42 lap for a road-going Valkyrie on Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit and describes it as a road-legal production-car record.
- It does not show: a fastest-ever lap across all vehicle classes, or an independently certified record supported here by a published timing sheet and complete record protocol.
- For comparison: keep the circuit layout, road-legal versus race or track-only category, vehicle specification and source of each reported time in view.
