The Bugatti W16 Mistral was announced at €5 million net, and its 99-car production run is now complete and sold out. Bugatti’s July 2025 specification sheet lists 1,600 PS, 1,600 Nm and a 420 km/h (273 mph) maximum in Top Speed mode. A separate 453.91 km/h (282 mph) run belongs to the unique W16 Mistral World Record Car—not the standard specification-sheet figure.
How much did the Bugatti W16 Mistral cost, and is it still available?
Bugatti announced the W16 Mistral at €5 million net in 2022. At launch, the company said all 99 planned examples were already sold. Bugatti’s July 2026 production-completion announcement confirmed that 99 cars were built and production had ended. The €5 million figure is the original announced price, not a current resale valuation; current resale prices and availability are not established here.

Why Bugatti reports a 453.91 km/h speed
Bugatti says official driver Andy Wallace reached 453.91 km/h (282 mph) in November 2024 at ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg, Germany, in the unique W16 Mistral World Record Car. In its July 2026 production-completion announcement, Bugatti described that car as the fastest series-production open car. This is a company-reported record run in a specific car and context; it is distinct from the standard Mistral’s 420 km/h Top Speed mode maximum in the July 2025 specification sheet.
Design, name and W16 significance
Bugatti describes the Mistral as the final roadgoing production appearance of its W16 engine. Its name refers to the powerful wind that blows from the Rhône River valley through southern France toward the Mediterranean. The company cites the 1934 Type 57 Roadster Grand Raid as a design inspiration.
