The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ with EQ Technology starts at $47,250 in the U.S. and carries an EPA range rating of up to 374 miles. It is the rear-wheel-drive, range-focused electric CLA; the $49,800 CLA 350 4MATIC adds all-wheel drive and quicker estimated acceleration, while its EPA rating falls to 312 miles. Standard comfort and driver-assistance equipment, a fixed panoramic roof and Mercedes-Benz’s latest software give the compact sedan a substantial feature set—but it remains a compact car, and the first-drive impressions available so far apply to the 250+ only.
How much does the 2026 Mercedes CLA cost, and what is the range?
Mercedes-Benz USA lists two electric CLA versions in its 2026 quick reference guide. Their published MSRPs and specifications are:
| Model | U.S. MSRP | Drive | EPA range | Combined MPGe | 0–60 mph |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CLA 250+ with EQ Technology | $47,250 | Rear-wheel drive | Up to 374 miles | Up to 126 | 6.6 seconds, estimated |
| CLA 350 4MATIC with EQ Technology | $49,800 | All-wheel drive | 312 miles | 118 | 4.8 seconds, estimated |
All figures in the table are from the Mercedes-Benz USA 2026 CLA Electric Quick Reference Guide. The range and MPGe values are EPA ratings; acceleration times are manufacturer estimates. Actual efficiency and range depend on conditions and use, and the cited first-drive account did not independently measure either. Mercedes-Benz’s U.S. pricing announcement identifies the 250+ as starting at $47,250; pricing and equipment can vary with configuration and market.
CLA 250+ or CLA 350: what changes?
The $2,550 difference buys a different balance, not a simple upgrade. The 250+ is the range-oriented rear-drive model. The 350 4MATIC adds all-wheel drive and a quicker estimated 0–60 mph time, with a shorter listed EPA range. Choose based on whether rear-wheel drive and the higher range rating suit your priorities, or whether all-wheel drive and the additional acceleration matter more. Neither rating establishes what a particular trip will deliver.

What makes the entry-level CLA feel well equipped?
Mercedes-Benz USA lists a fixed panoramic glass roof, high-performance LED headlights, heated power front seats with memory and four-way power lumbar support, wireless smartphone integration, and MBUX infotainment powered by MB.OS as standard equipment for the electric CLA. The launch release also lists Blind Spot Assist Plus with Exit Warning, a lane-keeping function and PRE-SAFE among standard safety features. Listed Digital Extras include DISTRONIC distance assistance and MBUX navigation with Electric Intelligence; availability and package details may depend on vehicle configuration.
Some headline features are options
The MBUX Superscreen is optional, not a standard feature of every CLA: it adds a 10.25-inch driver display and 14-inch center and front-passenger screens. The Burmester 3D Surround Sound System and additional MB.DRIVE assistance functions are also described as options. Mercedes-Benz’s quick reference identifies Exclusive and Pinnacle lines with added equipment, so check the specific trim and options list rather than assuming every pictured feature is included.

MB.OS and fourth-generation MBUX
Mercedes-Benz describes the CLA as its first vehicle running fully on its in-house MB.OS. The company says the system spans infotainment, driver assistance, body and comfort, and driving and charging. Fourth-generation MBUX integrates AI from Google and Microsoft, and Mercedes-Benz says over-the-air updates can include driver-assistance systems. Those are manufacturer descriptions of capability, not independent findings about reliability, usefulness or update frequency. See Mercedes-Benz’s MB.OS and MBUX description.
What was the CLA 250+ like on its first drive?
Tom’s Guide reviewer Myriam Joire drove a rear-wheel-drive CLA 250+ equipped with AMG Line and Pinnacle Line packages, optional black 19-inch AMG wheels, Burmester audio and MB.Drive Assist. Joire praised the car’s comfort, refinement, quiet cabin and material quality, while faulting the two-switch window-control arrangement and expressing a personal reservation about the styling. These are impressions from a few-hours first drive, not long-term findings or measured comparisons.

How practical is this compact electric sedan?
Mercedes-Benz USA lists the electric CLA at 185.9 inches long, with a 109.8-inch wheelbase, 42.2 inches of front legroom and 33.6 inches of rear legroom. Cargo capacity is listed as 10.3 cubic feet in the trunk, plus a 1.4-cubic-foot front trunk, or frunk. That frunk is useful for small items, but the official figures describe compact-sedan storage rather than a large cargo hold. These measurements come from the 2026 quick reference guide.

Can the 2026 CLA use Tesla or other NACS fast chargers?
Mercedes-Benz USA says the CLA 250+ and CLA 350 have J1772 and NACS connections for DC fast charging and can use compatible 800-volt high-power chargers. Connector compatibility is not the only detail to check: Mercedes-Benz says 400-volt DC charging requires a factory-equipped converter, with converters available on CLAs starting in spring 2026. Confirm the actual vehicle’s equipment and current charging information before relying on a particular station or charging speed.
Charging-speed headlines are manufacturer claims under compatible conditions, not guaranteed trip results. Mercedes-Benz’s U.S. vehicle page cites up to 201 miles added in 10 minutes on a compatible 800-volt DC charger; its launch release gives a different figure, up to 202 miles in as little as 10 minutes, and also says up to 100 miles in five minutes. The release lists peak DC charging at up to 320 kW. See the Mercedes-Benz USA CLA page and U.S. launch release for their respective claims.

Mercedes-Benz describes its Wallbox as an option for overnight home charging. Is there a hybrid 2026 CLA?
Mercedes-Benz’s December 15, 2025 technical release describes a 48-volt hybrid CLA with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, an integrated electric motor and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The company says its 1.3-kWh usable battery supports electric propulsion in city driving when power demand is below 27 hp; the car can also coast electrically at speeds up to 60 mph depending on conditions, and recuperate up to 25 kW. This is a mild hybrid, not a plug-in hybrid with a stated electric-only driving range. The release does not by itself establish that this version is on sale as a U.S. 2026 model; check local availability and model-year details. See Mercedes-Benz’s hybrid technical release.
