What is the Dodge Charger SIXPACK engine?
SIXPACK is Dodge’s name for the Charger application of its 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six. It is the engine designation used for the gas-powered 2026 Charger R/T and Scat Pack; the electric Charger Daytona is a separate vehicle and powertrain. Dodge describes the six-cylinder engine family as having two counter-rotating turbochargers. Dodge’s SIXPACK FAQ explains the name and the two Charger calibrations.
The key distinction is not the SIXPACK name but whether the car has the SO or HO version. Dodge publishes different output, turbo hardware and performance claims for each.
How much power do the R/T and Scat Pack make?

These are Dodge-published figures, not independent test results. The R/T output, performance and combined-economy figures appear in Dodge’s March 9, 2026 announcement; the Scat Pack figures appear in Dodge’s FAQ and Scat Pack materials. Compare certified city, highway and combined ratings for the same market and configuration when available rather than treating the R/T’s 23 mpg combined as a SIXPACK-wide figure. What distinguishes the SO and HO hardware?
Dodge’s R/T announcement describes the SO with twin 50 mm turbochargers and boost up to 22 psi. For the Scat Pack HO, Dodge identifies twin 54 mm Garrett GT2054 turbochargers and peak boost of 30 psi, along with direct fuel injection rated at 5,075 psi (350 bar), forged components and a 9.5:1 compression ratio. These are version-specific descriptions; they should not be read as proof that the two tunes use identical hardware. R/T technical details; Scat Pack technical details.
What fuel economy and fuel grade should you expect?
Dodge states 23 mpg combined for the 2026 Charger R/T SO in its March 9, 2026 announcement. That is a manufacturer-published combined figure; the cited material does not establish a comparable Scat Pack number, and it is not an independent road-test result. Actual certified ratings should be checked for the specific market and configuration.

Dodge says the HO engine makes maximum output on 91-octane premium fuel. That statement applies to the HO; it should not be assumed to specify the SO’s requirement. Check the fuel-door label or the applicable owner’s manual for the exact car. Dodge’s Scat Pack release.
How does the drivetrain work?
Dodge says all 2026 Charger models have standard all-wheel drive. SIXPACK models also have a selectable rear-drive mode. Dodge says the Scat Pack can send 100% of torque to the rear wheels in that mode, while the AWD system’s front-axle disconnect is intended to improve fuel economy. What maintenance does the SIXPACK require?
The controlling source for service intervals and fluid specifications is the 2026 Charger owner’s manual for the vehicle’s market and configuration. Mopar’s manual listing includes scheduled servicing for gasoline models and a dedicated 3.0 Liter Hurricane section, including oil-level checks.
