ZETmobil’s ZET is a four-wheel, pedal-assist electric vehicle presented in family, cargo and local-delivery configurations. A July 2025 report described assistance up to 25 km/h and battery options with manufacturer-reported ranges of up to 50–130 km per charge, but those figures were not independently tested in the report. The available information explains the concept; it does not establish current availability or whether the vehicle suits a particular household, route or business.
What is the ZETmobil ZET?
The ZET is a pedal-assist e-quad: a four-wheel vehicle designed as a configurable platform for carrying passengers or cargo around town. New Atlas reported on the announced vehicle and its configurations on July 18, 2025. Its descriptions are product reporting, not an independent road test or confirmation that the ZET can currently be ordered. New Atlas, July 18, 2025

The concept sits between familiar categories: it has pedals and electric assistance, but four wheels and configurable passenger or cargo space. The report does not provide enough information to establish how it compares in practice with a cargo e-bike, velomobile or small electric car.
Which configurations were reported?
| Configuration | What the report describes | What remains unestablished |
|---|---|---|
| Family or passenger | Passenger-oriented setup, with options including child seats, a family tower and a rear enclosure with a transparent rain shield. | Specific passenger capacity, child-seat compatibility details and current option availability. |
| Pickup-like cargo | A rear bay intended for carrying loads. | Payload limit, cargo-bed dimensions and load-restraint details. |
| Local delivery | A delivery configuration with a reported 670-liter lockable storage box. | Payload limit, whether the box is included or optional, and current compatibility or availability. |
A solar canopy was also reported as an option. The article does not establish how much energy it supplies or whether it materially extends usable range.
#1 Best Overall
- Electric 4-Wheeler – With variable-speed (high/low 2-speed switch), twist-grip throttle control for acceleration and a hand-operated rear disc brake, the Dirt Quad can reach speeds up to 8 mph (13 km/h).
- Enhanced Features – Includes a forward/reverse drive switch for greater control and maneuverability in tight spaces.
- Smooth Ride – Four 12" (305 mm) pneumatic tires deliver a smooth ride.
- Strong and Sturdy – A powder-coated tubular steel frame and shatter-resistant plastic fairingsoffer stability and durability.
- Long-Lasting Adventure – The 24V (two 12V) rechargeable sealed lead-acid battery system boasts up to 80 minutes of continuous use on a single charge in the Low Speed Mode.
What performance and dimensions were reported?
- Assistance: a hub motor was reported to provide pedal assistance up to 25 km/h (15.5 mph).
- Battery and range: four battery options were reported, with ranges of up to 50 km (31 miles) to up to 130 km (80 miles) per charge. These are reported claims; the article gives no independent test protocol or real-world range results.
- Size: reported configurations measure 225 or 245 cm long, 80 cm wide, and 156 or 168 cm high. The report does not specify which dimensions correspond to each configuration.
- Brakes: disc brakes at each wheel were described. The article’s observation of roughly 20-inch rims was visual, not a confirmed wheel-size specification.
New Atlas said further specifications had not been shared at publication. In particular, the report does not establish payload, charging time, battery capacity, or independently measured range. Those omissions matter when deciding whether a family, business load or daily route is feasible.
Could it work as a family vehicle, commuter or delivery vehicle?
Family transport
The reported child-seat, family-tower and rain-shield options indicate that ZETmobil presented the ZET for passenger and family use. They do not, by themselves, establish passenger capacity, safety certification, weather protection in all conditions, or compatibility with a particular child seat. A buyer would need current specifications for the exact configuration.
Commuting
The reported assist speed and range options suggest an intended urban daily-use role, but suitability depends on the actual route, battery choice, charging access and conditions. The report contains no independent range test, so its maximum figures should not be treated as a guaranteed commute distance.
Cargo and local delivery
The pickup-like rear bay and 670-liter lockable delivery box point to cargo and delivery use. Volume is not the same as payload: without a stated weight limit, the report cannot establish what the vehicle can safely carry or whether a particular business load will fit and remain within limits.

What was reported about development and buying?
New Atlas reported in July 2025 that pre-series construction had begun after prototype endurance testing. The article attributed 100,000 km of prototype testing to ZETmobil; this is the company’s reported figure, not an independently validated test result.
The same 2025 article mentioned a €300 deposit, a starting price of €7,790, and delivery estimated for the end of 2025. These are historical purchase details and an estimate, not current pricing, ordering or delivery information. As of October 2026, the report alone does not confirm whether the ZET is available, what it costs, or when deliveries can be made.
What to verify before considering one
- Current production, ordering status, price, delivery timing and the precise configuration included in any quote.
- Maximum payload and passenger capacity, plus the weight limits for the cargo box, seats and accessories.
- Battery capacity, charging time and range under conditions representative of your route and load.
- Dimensions for the specific version, including whether it fits your parking space, storage area and intended roads.
- Local vehicle classification, road-use rules and any licensing requirements. ZETmobil was quoted by New Atlas as saying its four-wheeled e-cargo bikes “don’t require a driver’s license,” but that company statement is not a determination of the rules in every jurisdiction.
- How the selected child seats, enclosure, canopy or delivery box are supplied, supported and compatible with the chosen configuration.
Does “eco-friendly” mean lower emissions overall?
The report presents the ZET as electric transport, but provides no lifecycle-emissions assessment or comparative operating-cost study. Electric assistance alone does not establish the vehicle’s total environmental impact or cost relative to a car, cargo bike or other alternative. Those comparisons require information about production, electricity use, maintenance, usage and the alternatives being compared.
