Yamaha announced that its YE-01 Racing Concept would be displayed and run in exhibition laps at the 2026 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN) in Ernée, France. The announcement named Ben Townley and Milko Potisek as riders and scheduled demonstrations for Saturday and Sunday at 12:45 local time. The YE-01 remains a development concept—not an announced production dirt bike.
What Yamaha confirmed about the YE-01 at MXoN 2026
In an announcement dated September 29, 2026, Infront Moto Racing, which promotes MXGP, said Yamaha would display and run the YE-01 Racing Concept during the October 2–4 MXoN at Ernée. It named Ben Townley and Milko Potisek as the riders and listed electric demonstration laps for Saturday and Sunday at 12:45 local time. MXGP’s announcement gives those event details.
The dates have passed, but the available post-event record does not establish that the YE-01 actually completed its run. MXGP’s event coverage and timetable lists Sunday’s 12:45 “Electro Demonstration Laps”; a scheduled slot is not confirmation that this particular motorcycle ran. The accurate description is therefore that Yamaha announced and scheduled the appearance, while completion remains unverified by that record.
What the YE-01 is—and what it is not
Yamaha describes the YE-01 as a racing concept intended to build experience toward the MXEP electric motocross category. The manufacturer’s YE-01 development announcement says it uses the latest-specification chassis shared with the 2026 YZ450F. MXGP describes the engineering approach as YZ450F chassis technology paired with an Electric Motion power unit.

That development relationship does not establish that retail YZ450F components fit the prototype. Nor do the announcements identify the YE-01 as a consumer model: they call it a racing concept and describe its development purpose, without announcing sales or availability.
YE-01 specifications: what has not been published
The official material cited here does not provide verified figures for the YE-01’s battery capacity, range, charging time, weight, or power output. It would be misleading to fill those gaps with estimates or figures from another motorcycle. The descriptions of its chassis and power-unit approach are not a substitute for a complete specification sheet.
