Xiaomi began making and delivering SU7 vehicles in 2024, and a Beijing government report later recorded a 100,000-vehicle production milestone. Those developments show production was underway, but the available official sources do not confirm Phase 1’s current rated capacity or utilization.
What did Xiaomi announce for Phase 1?
In November 2021, Beijing Yizhuang’s development-zone announcement, as reported by CnEVPost, described a factory planned in two phases. Each phase was assigned annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles, for a planned combined capacity of 300,000 vehicles per year. The announcement also said Xiaomi expected its first car to reach mass production in 2024.
That was a forecast and a capacity plan made in 2021. Annual capacity describes a planned production capability; it does not establish the number of cars actually produced in a year, or prove the factory had reached that rate.
Did Xiaomi reach mass production?
Xiaomi’s 2024 annual report, published in 2025, says the company officially launched its first smart EV, the SU7 Series, in March 2024. It reports 136,854 SU7 Series deliveries during calendar year 2024. This confirms the vehicle entered the market and customers received cars during the year, but deliveries are not the same measure as factory capacity or production.

In a report dated November 23, 2024, the Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office said the factory had manufactured 100,000 complete vehicles within 230 days and described a line cadence of one new vehicle every 76 seconds. These are figures reported by the government office about the factory, not an independent utilization audit. They indicate substantial production activity by that date, but do not by themselves show sustained annual output of 150,000.

These numbers cannot be combined into a Phase 1 utilization rate. They cover different measures and periods, and the sources do not specify which factory phase served each vehicle or the applicable production schedule.

What is known about the Beijing factory today?
Xiaomi’s official factory page places the campus in Beijing’s Economic-Technological Development Area. Xiaomi describes a 718,000-square-meter site with six workshops for new-energy vehicle production, an R&D and testing base, and a 2.5-kilometer test track. The company also describes more than 700 robots, in-house production of the die-cast rear floor and CTB batteries, and an integrated site for R&D, manufacturing, sales and customer experience.
Those details describe the facility, not its current annualized output. The official factory page does not restate Phase 1’s rated capacity. The Beijing government report also described more than 700 industrial robots and reported ±0.5 mm assembly precision for large parts; these are claims attributed to Xiaomi or the government report, not independent measurements.

Is Phase 1 currently on track for 150,000 vehicles a year?
The historical 2024 mass-production target was followed by the SU7 launch and reported production milestones. However, the consulted official material does not establish Phase 1’s current installed capacity, its utilization, or whether it is sustaining an annualized rate of 150,000 vehicles. The most accurate conclusion is that Xiaomi’s Beijing factory was producing vehicles at scale by late 2024, while the original Phase 1 capacity remains a planned figure unless and until Xiaomi provides a current capacity disclosure.
