The Xiaomi YU7 in Lava Orange was reported in real-world images in May 2025, when July was still the expected launch timing. Xiaomi later began sales in China on June 26, 2025, so July was not the actual launch date. The sighting was a design report, not a separate launch announcement.
What the Lava Orange sighting showed
Gizmochina reported on May 26, 2025, that ITHome had shared real-life images of a Xiaomi YU7 finished in Lava Orange. The report described a closed front grille, silver Xiaomi badge, triangular vents and body-color center trim. It also noted headlights integrated into air ducts, a fastback-shaped profile and a full-width C-shaped rear light treatment.
In the reported images, the orange vehicle had white decals and color-matched semi-enclosed wheels. Gizmochina gave dimensions of 4,999 mm long, 1,996 mm wide and 1,600 mm tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. These are details attributed to the sighting report; Xiaomi’s launch materials cited below do not independently confirm the specific car’s paint, decals, wheels or appearance.
When the Xiaomi YU7 actually launched
The May report described July as the expected timing. Xiaomi’s official release records the YU7’s China launch on June 26, 2025, when the company announced formal sales of its first SUV in Beijing. The date correction matters: the Lava Orange images preceded the launch, but the launch itself happened in June, not July.

YU7 versions and China launch prices
Xiaomi announced three versions and their launch prices for China. These are launch prices, not a statement of current pricing or availability in other markets.

How to interpret Xiaomi’s range and performance figures
Standard range: 835 km CLTC
Xiaomi’s maximum 835 km range figure applies to the Standard version and uses China’s CLTC test cycle. Xiaomi’s September 2025 interim report says the maximum was derived from its internal EV Lab and notes that specifications vary by configuration. CLTC is a test-cycle result, not a promise that the vehicle will travel 835 km in everyday conditions.
Max acceleration and top speed
Xiaomi lists the YU7 Max at 3.23 seconds for 0–100 km/h acceleration and a 253 km/h top speed. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results for the Lava Orange car pictured in May.

What the early order figure does—and does not—show
Xiaomi Corporation’s September 2025 interim report says the YU7 received more than 240,000 locked-in orders in the first 18 hours after launch. That is a company-reported order figure, not independent verification of vehicle sales, and it does not establish demand for the Lava Orange paint option.
