The production Xiaomi SU7 Ultra recorded a 7:04.957 lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife on April 1, 2025, with Vincent Radermecker driving. The Nürburgring classified it as a record in its “Electric Executive Car” category—not a fastest-ever lap across all electric vehicles. The often-cited 6:22.091 time was set by a separate SU7 Ultra Prototype.
What was the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s Nürburgring lap time?
The Nürburgring’s official report gives the production SU7 Ultra’s time as 7:04.957. Vincent Radermecker drove the lap on April 1, 2025, in the circuit’s “Electric Executive Car” category. The circuit’s official announcement describes it as a category record.
That qualification matters: “EV lap record” can sound like a single record covering every kind of electric car. The Nürburgring instead maintains distinct vehicle categories, so this result is best described as the production SU7 Ultra’s electric executive-car category record. The circuit’s 2025 results also list separate electric luxury and electric super sports-car classes.
Is the 6:22 lap from the production car?
No. The 6:22.091 result belongs to the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype, driven by David Pittard on April 1, 2025. The Nürburgring lists it among prototype/pre-production results, not as the production SU7 Ultra’s lap. The circuit’s 2025 record review distinguishes the prototype result from the production SU7 Ultra with Track Package.

Those two times are not an apples-to-apples comparison: one is a prototype/pre-production vehicle, the other a production car, and the circuit records them under different categories and vehicle statuses. The same review lists the YANGWANG U9 Xtreme at 6:59.157 in the electric super sports-car category, another class distinct from the SU7 Ultra’s executive-car result.
What configuration set the production-car time?
Xiaomi says the production-car lap used its optional Professional Track Package, a carbon-fiber dual-vent front hood, and an aerodynamic underbody plate, in addition to Nürburgring-certified safety modifications. These are configuration details attributed to Xiaomi, rather than an independently verified parts list. See the company’s announcement for its account of the lap car.

How does a Nürburgring record lap work?
The Nordschleife lap used for records is 20.832 km and uses a flying start. The Nürburgring says it has recorded, confirmed, and published official record drives since the 2019 season. Its records methodology describes calibrated timekeeping, supervision by a notary, vehicle inspection, and classification using German Federal Motor Transport Authority categories.
The circuit also says production condition is documented by a neutral testing organization; prototypes and special vehicles are not subject to the same series-production-state scrutiny. Its report on the SU7 Ultra identifies TÜV Rheinland as documenting standard conformity. These distinctions help explain why vehicle status is part of the record, not a footnote.
