Xiaomi’s 2024 SU7 interior reveal described a symmetrical, driver-focused cabin with two physical steering-wheel buttons, a 16.1-inch 3K central display and a 56-inch head-up display (HUD). Those are Xiaomi’s product specifications and design claims—not independent findings that the layout is safer or easier to use.
What Xiaomi revealed about the 2024 SU7 interior
In its June 14, 2024 UK article, Xiaomi presented the SU7 cabin as symmetrical around a central axis while still oriented toward the driver. The description pairs a large central touchscreen with physical controls on the steering wheel, rather than suggesting that every driving function is operated through the display.
Xiaomi’s article names four interior colors: Galaxy Gray, Twilight Red, Mist Purple and Obsidian Black. It does not establish that every color was available on every trim or in every market.
Which physical buttons are in the 2024 reveal?
Xiaomi says the steering wheel has two physical buttons: one activates smart driving, and the other enables Boost mode. In the company’s words, “There are two physical buttons on the steering wheel, one turns on smart driving and the other enables Boost mode for a convenient shortcut.” This is Xiaomi’s description of the controls, not an independent usability assessment.

What are the SU7’s display specifications?
- Central control screen: 16.1 inches with 3K resolution, according to Xiaomi’s 2024 UK article.
- Head-up display: Xiaomi lists a 56-inch HUD. The article does not provide independent testing of its visibility or performance.
These figures describe Xiaomi’s stated specifications. They do not, by themselves, show how quickly a driver can find information or whether the cabin is less distracting than another EV’s.

How the current China-market SU7 interior differs
Xiaomi’s current China-market SU7 page describes a later-generation symmetrical center-console layout with horizontal physical buttons for climate temperature and fan speed; their functions can be customized. The page’s pictured interior is the Max trim. These details should not be retroactively attributed to the 2024 interior reveal, and the China-market page does not establish availability in other markets.
Xiaomi’s later description adds console-mounted physical climate controls to the picture of a cabin that also uses a central display. It is a different model-generation reference, so buyers should check the precise model year, trim and market rather than assume the controls shown on that page apply to every SU7.

What the claims do—and do not—establish
The available descriptions establish Xiaomi’s stated layout, named steering-wheel button functions, display sizes and color names. They do not include independent ergonomic research or a comparative test showing the SU7 is easier, safer or more driver-focused in practice than another car. “Driver-focused” is Xiaomi’s design characterization, not a measured outcome.
Xiaomi’s launch announcement called the driving experience “a driver’s dream.” That is promotional language, not an independent evaluation. For an interior assessment, the practical questions are whether the controls fall naturally to hand, whether the screens are legible in varied conditions, and how much attention tasks demand; the cited material does not answer those questions through testing.
