The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:22.091 on April 1, 2025. Nürburgring placed the result in its prototype/pre-production category—not the production-car category—so the time should not be described as a production SU7 Ultra record. Nürburgring’s official report says the lap improved the prototype’s previous time by 24 seconds.
What the 6:22.091 Nürburgring time means
The time is for Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra Prototype, recorded on April 1, 2025, and classified by Nürburgring as a prototype/pre-production vehicle. The circuit’s report says it came on the car’s second attempt. It is not the lap time of the production SU7 Ultra.

Rank descriptions depend on which field is being compared. Xiaomi’s prototype page describes the lap as fourth-fastest overall, while Nürburgring’s 2025 annual recap calls it the fastest official lap of that year. Neither description makes it the all-time outright Nordschleife record: Nürburgring’s recap lists the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo’s 5:19.546 from 2018 as the official record. Xiaomi’s prototype page and Nürburgring’s 2025 recap use those distinct ranking frames.
Prototype and production SU7 Ultra lap times
The production SU7 Ultra made a separate Nordschleife attempt on April 1, 2025. Nürburgring lists its 7:04.957 time in the Electric Executive Car category, driven by Vincent Radermecker. Xiaomi says the production car used the optional Professional Track Package, a carbon-fiber dual-vent front hood, an aerodynamic underbody plate, and Nürburgring-certified safety modifications. These are different vehicles and classifications, so their times are not a like-for-like production-car comparison.

How Nürburgring verifies and classifies record laps
Nürburgring defines record laps on a 20.832-kilometre Nordschleife course with a flying start. Its published methodology describes calibrated timing, notary supervision, vehicle inspection, and classification using German Federal Motor Transport Authority segments or special classes. The circuit says TÜV Rheinland checks and documents series conformity. Under the methodology, prototypes and special vehicles do not need series-production scrutineering, which is another reason to keep the prototype category visible when reporting this result. What is different about the record-setting prototype?
Xiaomi describes the prototype as a track-focused development car rather than an unchanged production SU7 Ultra. According to the company, it uses two HyperEngine V8s motors and one V6s motor, managed by a tri-motor torque-vectoring control system. Xiaomi also says it has carbon-fiber exterior panels, an interior and air-conditioning system removed, and a weight of 1,900 kg after track-oriented reductions from its initial engineering condition.

How to compare Nürburgring lap claims
A lap time is meaningful only with its category and configuration. For the SU7 Ultra results, compare the prototype/pre-production entry with other entries in that class, and the production Electric Executive Car entry with production cars in its category. Check the vehicle specification and modifications, lap date, and whether a ranking is a category result, a yearly result, or an all-time overall record.
