Yes, Xbox Cloud Gaming is planned for some connected vehicles—but not every car with an internet connection. Xbox and LG announced on September 9, 2025, that the Xbox app would be integrated into select vehicles using LG’s webOS Automotive Content Platform (ACP). The announcements described availability as coming “soon,” but did not name supported models, launch markets, or a firm public release date.
How Xbox Cloud Gaming in a car is supposed to work
The Xbox app is built into LG’s webOS Automotive Content Platform, which runs through a vehicle’s infotainment system. A passenger can launch the app, sign in to an Xbox Game Pass subscription, connect a compatible Bluetooth controller, and stream games over the vehicle’s supported internet connection.
Xbox says an automotive data plan is required for streaming services. The companies describe the experience for passengers and say services will operate in compliance with driving-safety regulations; this is not a claim that gaming is appropriate for a driver while the vehicle is moving.
What you need
- A supported vehicle: It must have LG webOS Automotive Content Platform and an internet-connected infotainment system, with the Xbox app available. The announcements do not list qualifying makes or models.
- An Xbox Game Pass subscription: Xbox’s setup instructions say to sign in to a Game Pass subscription. The announcements specifically identify Game Pass Ultimate for access to the hundreds-of-games cloud catalog and for streaming select games subscribers already own.
- A compatible Bluetooth controller: The controller pairs with the vehicle system. Xbox does not identify a particular controller model in its announcement.
- Supported internet access and an automotive data plan: Cloud gaming streams over the connection, so access, coverage, and any plan requirements depend on the vehicle and service.
How to start a session
- In a supported vehicle, connect a compatible Bluetooth controller to the infotainment system.
- Open the Xbox app from the vehicle’s internet-connected infotainment system.
- Sign in to the Xbox Game Pass subscription associated with the games you want to play.
- Select an available cloud game and start streaming over the supported connection.
This sequence follows Xbox’s setup description in its September 9, 2025 Xbox Wire announcement. The exact menu labels and controller-pairing steps may vary by vehicle implementation; the announcement does not provide a model-specific walkthrough.

Which games are included?
Xbox said Game Pass Ultimate members would be able to stream hundreds of games, with Gears of War: Reloaded, Forza Horizon 5, and The Outer Worlds 2 among its examples. Ultimate subscribers would also be able to stream select games they already own; Xbox cited Bugsnax, Don’t Starve, and Mafia: The Old Country. LG separately highlighted Doom: The Dark Ages and Forza Horizon 5.
These are announcement examples, not a permanent catalog. The games available to stream can change, and the announcements do not say that every owned game can be streamed.

Which vehicles and countries are supported?
The companies announced the integration for “select” internet-connected vehicles equipped with LG’s webOS Automotive Content Platform. They did not publish a complete list of supported vehicle makes or models, name launch countries, or provide consumer pricing. Having an LG platform or an in-car data connection alone does not establish that a particular vehicle can run the Xbox app.
LG said it aims to supply webOS-based ACP to 20 million vehicles by 2030. That is LG’s platform supply target—not a forecast or guarantee that Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available in 20 million vehicles. LG places ACP within its PlayWare software-defined-vehicle ecosystem and says it is expanding ACP to commercial vehicles; neither point identifies specific Xbox-compatible vehicles.

Is it available now?
Xbox and LG’s September 9, 2025 announcements said the service was coming soon, but did not give a firm public launch date or rollout markets. Those announcements alone do not confirm whether a particular vehicle, country, or account can access it now. Check with the vehicle maker or in-car app system for model-specific availability rather than assuming that all connected cars—or all vehicles using LG software—are supported.
