Fastest electric cars: published figures compared
The figures below come from manufacturers or a named record report. They should not be read as directly comparable test results: the sources do not establish common launch conditions, measuring equipment, tire state, or test surface.
| Model | Published top speed | Published 0–60 mph | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rimac Nevera R | 430 km/h (about 267 mph) | 1.66 sec | Current Rimac model-page figures; top speed with manufacturer oversight. Rimac’s 2024 launch release instead lists 412 km/h (256 mph), with oversight, and 1.74 sec. Rimac current specifications; Rimac launch release. |
| Rimac Nevera | 412 km/h (258 mph) | 1.85 sec in Rimac’s newsroom release; Guinness World Records separately reports 1.74 sec | The 412 km/h figure is a record claim from a controlled run with Rimac support, not the normal customer-delivered top-speed setting. | Lucid Air Sapphire | 205 mph | 1.89 sec | Lucid’s final production specifications, announced August 8, 2023. Lucid production announcement. |
Why the Nevera R tops this ranking
Rimac’s current Nevera R page lists 430 km/h under manufacturer oversight and 1.66 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. That is the highest top-speed figure among the cars compared here. The figures are specific to Rimac’s current model page; they do not establish how the car would compare with rivals in one independently conducted test.
There is a meaningful difference between the current specification and the Nevera R launch release. The 2024 launch material listed 412 km/h (256 mph) and 1.74 seconds to 60 mph, while the current page lists 430 km/h (about 267 mph) and 1.66 seconds. Keep the source and version attached to each number rather than blending them into a single timeless specification.

The standard Nevera’s record speed has a condition
Rimac’s 2023 record release says the standard Nevera reached 412 km/h (258 mph), but customer-delivered cars are limited to 219 mph (352 km/h). Rimac says the higher speed is available at special customer events with company support and under controlled conditions. The record figure therefore describes a supported high-speed run, not the speed setting available for ordinary customer use.
Published 0–60 mph figures for the standard Nevera also vary by source: Rimac’s newsroom release gives 1.85 seconds, while Guinness World Records reports 1.74 seconds. The sources do not supply a shared test protocol that would explain or reconcile the difference, so both should remain attributed rather than presented as one settled independent result.

How to read electric-car speed rankings
- Top speed and acceleration are separate measures. A car can lead a published top-speed list without having the quickest listed 0–60 time.
- Check what kind of evidence a number represents. A manufacturer specification, a company-supported speed attempt, and an independent report are not interchangeable evidence.
- Check the use condition. A record-setting speed may require a controlled event and may exceed the limit applied to customer-delivered cars.
- Keep date and source attached. As the Nevera R figures show, a current model page and launch material can publish different numbers.
