The Bugatti Tourbillon’s eight exhaust outlets are part of an optional specification, not a feature established for every Tourbillon. Bugatti announced the Équipe Pur Sang option on March 20, 2025, pairing its purpose-built eight-pipe exhaust with a specialized rear diffuser to work together on aerodynamic efficiency and downforce. The company has not published an exhaust-only performance figure.
What the eight exhaust outlets belong to
Équipe Pur Sang is an optional Tourbillon specification that Bugatti describes as bringing a more track-focused appearance. The eight-pipe exhaust is one part of a broader package that also changes the car’s aerodynamics, wheels and cabin. Bugatti’s announcement does not establish that the standard Tourbillon has eight outlets, so the count should be understood as a package feature rather than a model-wide specification. Bugatti’s March 20, 2025 announcement presents the exhaust and specialized rear diffuser as a combined arrangement intended to contribute to aerodynamic efficiency and downforce.
That wording matters: Bugatti does not give an isolated figure for how much the exhaust changes downforce, nor does its announcement say the exhaust alone increases engine power, top speed or sound level. New Atlas likewise noted that it could not yet compare the package’s exhaust sound with that of the standard car. Its March 2025 report is useful context, but the available information does not support a definitive sound comparison.
What Équipe Pur Sang adds
The option is more than an exhaust conversion. Bugatti’s announcement describes exterior aerodynamic parts, a distinctive wheel design and revised cabin details alongside the eight outlets.

- Aerodynamics: The package includes a specialized rear diffuser, a front splitter and a rear wing. Bugatti describes the diffuser and exhaust as working together; it does not publish a separate performance figure for the exhaust.
- Wheels: Directional wheels measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. Bugatti says their design increases airflow to the rear radiator by up to 8%; this is the manufacturer’s stated maximum, not an independent test result.
- Cabin: The package includes interior trim and seat changes. Bugatti’s announcement does not state a separate option price.
The up-to-8% airflow figure refers to the wheel design and rear radiator, not to the eight exhaust outlets. The Tourbillon also has eight radiators in total, five at the front, according to Bugatti’s October 2024 platform release; that separate cooling-system count is not the exhaust count. Bugatti’s platform description covers the radiators.
How the Tourbillon’s powertrain fits in
The exhaust is attached to a car whose powertrain combines a naturally aspirated V16 with three electric motors. Bugatti’s technical sheet, marked status June 2024, lists 1,800 hp of total system output, including 1,000 hp from the engine, and 900 Nm of maximum engine torque. The V16 is listed at 8.3 liters, with a maximum engine speed of 9,000 rpm. These are Bugatti-declared specifications, and the sheet notes that type approval had not yet been granted when it was prepared. Bugatti’s Tourbillon technical specifications also list a 24.8 kWh gross battery and more than 60 km of WLTP electric-only range; those, too, are manufacturer figures rather than independent test results.

Cosworth, which says it developed the engine with Bugatti, gives its displacement as 8.35 liters, while Bugatti rounds it to 8.3 liters. The figures reflect different precision, not necessarily a disagreement. Cosworth describes a 90-degree V16 with a cross-plane crank, dry-sump lubrication, titanium connecting rods and a carbon-fiber inlet plenum; it gives the engine’s weight as 252 kg. Those construction details and the weight are Cosworth’s account. Cosworth’s June 2024 engine announcement provides its description.
Bugatti’s June 2024 sheet lists a top speed of 380 km/h, limited, or 445 km/h with the Speed Key, and a 0–100 km/h time of 2.0 seconds. These are declared Tourbillon specifications, not measurements of the Équipe Pur Sang exhaust package. Neither the technical sheet nor the package announcement attributes those figures to the eight outlets.

What the Tourbillon costs
Bugatti announced a starting price of €3.8 million and a planned production run of 250 cars in June 2024. Those are launch-era figures for the Tourbillon, not a current US list price or the price of the Équipe Pur Sang option. Bugatti’s launch announcement does not state a separate price for Équipe Pur Sang. New Atlas described the car as a US$4.1 million Tourbillon in its March 2025 report, which explains the rounded “$4-million” framing but should not be treated as a current US price.
Bugatti’s 2024 launch material described testing and projected customer deliveries for 2026. That was a dated forecast; it does not establish current production or delivery status.
