Some late Dodge Viper ACRs have drawn extraordinary prices, but the evidence does not show that every ACR—or the model as a whole—has more than doubled in value. The clearest example is a single 2017 Viper ACR Extreme with just 109 miles: it sold for a $575,757 winning bid on Bring a Trailer on July 30, 2026. That is a notable transaction for a specific car, not a typical ACR valuation.
What the $575,757 sale actually tells us
Bring a Trailer recorded a $575,757 winning bid for a 2017 Dodge Viper SRT ACR Extreme on July 30, 2026. The listing reported 109 miles. That result shows what one exceptionally low-mileage example attracted at auction; it does not establish a market price for other ACRs.
The listing describes an Extreme Aero Package car with a six-speed manual, an 8.4-liter V10, a carbon-fiber rear wing and carbon-ceramic brakes. It also reports a clean Carfax. Those particulars distinguish this car from a higher-mileage, differently equipped, modified or damaged ACR. The auction result is a winning bid, not a guide estimate or necessarily the seller’s net proceeds; taxes, fees and individual sale terms can affect what changes hands. Why this particular ACR drew attention
It was a final-model-year Viper

It combined a specific high-performance specification with very low mileage
The Extreme Aero equipment and the listing’s documented details make this a more specific comparison than simply “a 2017 ACR.” Its 109-mile odometer reading is also far from what a typical used-car comparison might involve. The available evidence identifies these characteristics but does not quantify the separate price premium, if any, for each one.
The sale had a visible auction result
A public online auction makes a particular transaction easy to see and discuss. Visibility can make an exceptional result feel like a general market reset, but one result cannot establish a broad appreciation rate without comparable sales over time.

Do Viper ACR values show a uniform doubling?
No. The available Hagerty valuation information is model-year-specific and points to different trends for 2016 and 2017 ACRs, not one uniform doubling across the range. Hagerty’s tools also distinguish cars by condition and take factors such as originality, mileage, provenance, options or color, and maintenance into account. Compare like with like rather than treating a guide estimate as interchangeable with an auction bid.
The indexed 2016 Hagerty guide showed a different appreciation pattern from its indexed 2017 guide. The 2017 guide excerpt displayed an October 2026 label, later than October 5, 2026, so its figures are not included here as verified current values. How to judge an ACR price against your car
Before using a headline sale as a benchmark, line up the details that materially affect comparability:
- Model year and specification: distinguish an ACR from an Extreme Aero configuration.
- Mileage: a 109-mile example is not a sound direct comparison for a regularly driven car.
- Condition and history: assess accident and title history, maintenance records and documentation.
- Originality: identify modifications and whether important equipment remains as specified.
- Sale source and date: label an auction transaction as a transaction and a condition-rated guide figure as an estimate.
For a current estimate, use the model-year-specific Hagerty page and enter the car’s relevant details. For auction comparisons, look for cars with similar year, equipment, mileage, condition and history, and remember that a winning bid may not equal the seller’s proceeds.

What the evidence does not establish
The documented sale is compelling, but it does not prove that all ACRs have more than doubled, establish a representative $500,000–$1 million range, or isolate scarcity or performance as the cause of a price increase. No production total or sourced history of performance records is established here to support those broader explanations. The defensible takeaway is narrower: an exceptionally low-mileage, highly specified 2017 ACR Extreme sold for an exceptional bid, while values and appreciation vary by year and car.
