EverStart, the store’s private-label battery line, is made by third-party manufacturers, and Walmart says the specific producer can vary by model, region, and production date. To learn who made a particular battery, read the label on that unit or the specifications on its product page. Walmart’s own pages do not provide a current, model-by-model supplier list.
What Walmart says about EverStart suppliers
Walmart’s current EverStart FAQ states that the line is manufactured by third-party suppliers and that the producer can change by model, region, and production date. The practical consequence is that two EverStart batteries bought on the same day can come from different factories. Walmart does not assign a single maker to the brand, and it does not publish a complete list that maps each model to its manufacturer.
Because Walmart points buyers to the label and product specifications rather than to a supplier name, the label on the battery you actually receive is the most reliable source for its origin. Articles that list several possible manufacturers for EverStart are useful for context, but they are not confirmed by Walmart and should not be treated as a settled supplier roster.
The one named manufacturer: a single customer review
The only manufacturer name tied to a specific EverStart product in the evidence is Clarios. It appears in a customer review on a Walmart listing for the EverStart Platinum AGM H4 battery, in which the reviewer says the unit shipped from Clarios. That is a report about one purchase of one model. It does not establish that Clarios makes EverStart batteries in general, and it does not tell you who made other EverStart models or other production runs of the same model.

What EverStart’s private-label status means
Walmart’s 2020 annual report lists EverStart among its Walmart U.S. private-label brands. That confirms the brand belongs to Walmart rather than to a battery manufacturer. It is historical evidence of brand status, not a current supplier list, so it cannot tell you which factory produced a battery you bought this year.
How to find the maker of your specific battery
- Pull up the exact product page for the model you plan to buy, and open its specifications section. Confirm the model name, such as Value, Plus, Maxx, or Platinum AGM H4.
- When the battery arrives, read the label on the case. Look for the manufacturer name or marking printed on it, and note the date code if one is printed.
- If the label does not name a maker, check the listing’s specifications for a stated manufacturer. Walmart’s guidance points buyers to the label or current product specifications for this purpose.
- Keep a photo of the label with your receipt. This gives you a record of which supplier made the unit you installed.
Choose the right battery before worrying about the maker
Who made a battery matters less than whether it fits your vehicle. Walmart’s category guidance recommends matching three specifications to the car:
Rank #2
- Fast Starting Power: This 12V 55Ah 650 CCA delivers strong, steady starts is ready for any weather in any season.
- Made to Last: With its 100-minute Reserve Capacity supports longer run times and a longer overall battery lifespan.
- All Power, No Mess AGM Design: Sealed and spill-proof, the MM-G35 is built with high discharge output and deep discharge recovery to keep power steady when it counts.
- Strength That Starts on the Inside: The rugged construction resists shock, vibration, and harsh conditions, delivering reliable performance across a wide range of temperatures and tough environments.
- Tested Tough & Certified Safe: Mighty Max batteries are built in an ISO-certified facility and meet CE standards for quality, safety, and reliability
- Group size, which determines the case dimensions and terminal layout. Confirm it in your owner’s manual or on the existing battery.
- Cold-cranking amps (CCA), the power available for starting in cold weather. Use the figure your vehicle requires or the one on the existing battery as a minimum.
- Reserve capacity, the minutes a fully charged battery can run accessories if the charging system fails.
As an example, Walmart’s listing for the EverStart Value 12-volt lead-acid automotive battery gives Group 26R, 575 CCA, and 90 minutes of reserve capacity. These are the values for that listing only. Other EverStart models carry different specifications, so always compare the numbers on the product page with your vehicle’s requirements rather than assuming they match.

Two phrasings are common for this question: “Who makes EverStart Maxx batteries?” and “Who manufactures EverStart Plus batteries for Walmart?” Walmart’s EverStart FAQ addresses the first. Either question has the same answer: the maker can vary, and the label is the authoritative source.
