Renault India’s current range has four cars with displayed starting prices below ₹25 lakh ex-showroom: Kwid, Triber, Kiger and New Duster. The right choice depends less on the headline ceiling than on whether you need the lowest purchase price, flexible five-to-seven-seat capacity, a five-seat SUV, or the larger Duster format.
This shortlist uses Renault India prices and specifications retrieved on 13 October 2026. Prices are manufacturer ex-showroom figures for selected city limits, not on-road quotes; taxes, registration, insurance, offers and the exact purchase city can change what you pay.

Quick answer: the four Renault cars below ₹25 lakh
Renault’s official India range page lists all four of these models below the ₹25 lakh ex-showroom limit. The figures are entry prices, so they do not prove that every variant, or an on-road purchase in every city, will remain below ₹25 lakh.
| Model | Renault India displayed starting price | Format and seating | What makes it relevant |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kwid | ₹4,52,900 ex-showroom | Compact five-seat hatchback | Lowest listed entry price; 1.0 L petrol with manual and AMT selections shown in the configurator |
| Triber | ₹5,80,875 ex-showroom | Configurable five-to-seven-seater | Removable or foldable third row and more than 100 seating configurations claimed by Renault |
| Kiger | ₹5,81,000 ex-showroom | Five-seat SUV | 72 PS and 100 PS petrol choices, 205 mm ground clearance and 405 L boot space stated by Renault |
| New Duster | ₹10,49,000 ex-showroom | Current Renault SUV range model | Entry price is within the ceiling, but the cited page does not provide a complete variant or specification comparison |
For a simple recommendation: choose Kwid when the lowest initial price and a small five-seat car are the priorities; choose Triber when occasional third-row passengers and changing luggage needs matter; choose Kiger when you specifically want a five-seat SUV; and investigate New Duster only after checking the latest variant, engine, equipment and city quote.

How to interpret Renault’s prices
The amounts above are Renault India’s displayed starting prices, not a single national on-road price. Renault labels the range figures as ex-showroom prices for selected city limits and notes that local taxes may apply. The company reserves the right to change prices. On the Triber price page, Renault also says the listed prices exclude local taxes and that the final price is the one applicable on the purchase date. Check the city-wise price list and obtain a written dealer quotation before paying a booking amount.
What an on-road quote adds
- Registration and road tax set by your state or union territory.
- Compulsory and optional insurance selected for the vehicle and owner.
- Local levies, handling or statutory charges shown by the dealer.
- Variant-specific accessories, extended warranty or service packages, if you choose them.
- Any time-limited manufacturer or dealer offer, which may expire or vary by city.
Because the displayed numbers are entry prices, compare the exact trim and powertrain you intend to buy. A higher trim can cost substantially more than the headline figure even though the model itself remains under the ₹25 lakh starting-price threshold.
Renault Kwid: the cheapest listed Renault
At ₹4,52,900 ex-showroom on Renault’s cited range page, Kwid is the lowest-priced entry in this shortlist. It is a compact five-seat car, so its natural brief is urban commuting and buyers who want the smallest initial outlay rather than maximum cabin or luggage flexibility.

Powertrain and gearbox choices
Renault’s Kwid configurator shows a 1.0 L petrol powertrain with manual and AMT selections. AMT means an automated manual transmission; it can remove the need for a conventional clutch pedal, while the manual gives the driver direct gear selection. The configurator is the appropriate place to verify which gearbox is available with the precise variant and colour you want.
Equipment shown for the Evolution variant
The configurator displays a touchscreen MediaNAV system, hill-start assist and remote keyless entry for the Evolution variant. Treat these as Evolution-variant equipment, not a promise that every Kwid version includes them. Confirm the feature list, safety equipment, wheels, camera and other items against the selected trim’s current specification sheet.

Who should choose Kwid
- Buyers whose first filter is the lowest Renault purchase price.
- Drivers who prefer a compact footprint for congested streets and easier parking.
- Owners who want to choose between a manual and the AMT shown by Renault.
Kwid is less suitable if you regularly carry six or seven people, need a large flexible luggage area, or want the raised five-seat SUV format. Those needs point toward Triber or Kiger rather than simply adding options to a small hatchback.
Renault Triber: the flexible family choice
Triber starts at ₹5,80,875 ex-showroom on Renault’s range page, almost the same entry price as Kiger but designed around a different problem. Renault describes it as a five-to-seven-seater with more than 100 seating configurations and removable third-row seats. That flexibility is the reason to consider it, not a claim that all seven seats offer the same space or that the car is always best used with every seat installed.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →How the seating system works
The third row can be removed or folded, allowing you to switch between passenger and luggage duty. Renault’s model information cites cargo capacity of up to 625 L in a configuration with the third row removed; verify the relevant footnote and the exact seat position before comparing that figure with another car’s boot measurement. A practical test is to take the people and bags you normally carry to a dealership, try the third row in place, then repeat the exercise with it folded or removed.
Engines and certified efficiency
Renault lists a 72 PS, 96 Nm non-turbo option and a 100 PS turbo option producing 180 Nm. The page also lists 21 km/l certified fuel efficiency. That is a manufacturer-reported certified figure, not an independently measured real-world result; traffic, load, tyre pressure, air-conditioning use and driving style will affect consumption.
Triber versions and displayed prices
| Version | Displayed starting price | Price qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Authentic | ₹5,80,875 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price; local taxes excluded |
| Evolution | ₹6,73,605 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price; local taxes excluded |
| Techno | ₹7,44,120 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price; local taxes excluded |
| Emotion | ₹8,05,350 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price; local taxes excluded |
These figures come from Renault’s Triber price and versions page. They are not on-road totals and can change. Match the engine and gearbox to the version you are pricing; do not assume that every power option or feature is available on every trim.

Who should choose Triber
- Families that usually travel with five people but occasionally need a third row.
- Owners who value a removable or foldable seat system more than a conventional fixed five-seat boot.
- Buyers comparing a near-Kiger entry price but needing passenger flexibility rather than SUV styling and ground clearance.
If all journeys involve four or five occupants and you never need a third row, compare Triber’s size and seating mechanism with Kiger’s five-seat SUV layout during a test drive. The cheaper headline price alone does not resolve that choice.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesRenault Kiger: a five-seat SUV under the same entry-price band
Kiger starts at ₹5,81,000 ex-showroom, only ₹125 above Triber’s displayed entry price in the cited range snapshot. It is a five-seat SUV, so its appeal is the body style, stated ground clearance and boot space rather than expandable seating.
Officially listed engines, transmissions and dimensions
Renault’s Kiger model page states 72 PS and 100 PS petrol engine choices, three transmissions and three drive modes. The cited material does not identify the transmission types in a way that supports a trim-by-trim table, so confirm the exact gearbox when requesting a quote. Renault also states 205 mm ground clearance and 405 L boot space. These are official specifications, not measurements from an independent road test.
Kiger version prices
| Version | Displayed starting price | Price basis |
|---|---|---|
| Authentic | ₹5,81,000 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price |
| Evolution | ₹6,59,000 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price |
| Evolution+ | ₹7,03,000 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price |
| Techno | ₹7,60,000 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price |
| Emotion | ₹8,50,000 | Renault India ex-showroom starting price |
The version figures are from Renault’s Kiger price page. Ask the dealer to put the chosen engine, transmission, variant, registration location and insurance assumptions on the same quote so that a base-version comparison does not hide a different specification.
Who should choose Kiger
- Drivers who want five seats and an SUV format rather than a third-row vehicle.
- Owners for whom Renault’s stated 205 mm ground clearance is useful for poor surfaces, ramps or speed breakers.
- Families that can work with a fixed five-seat cabin and 405 L manufacturer-stated boot space.
Kiger is not the automatic winner simply because its entry price nearly matches Triber’s. Triber carries the stronger seating-flexibility case; Kiger carries the five-seat SUV case. Decide which requirement you will use every week.

New Renault Duster: inside the ceiling, but verify before deciding
Renault’s current range page lists New Duster from ₹10,49,000 ex-showroom, placing its displayed entry price below ₹25 lakh. However, the cited material does not provide a complete Duster variant ladder, engine choices, transmission details, equipment breakdown or trim-by-trim comparison. That makes a precise recommendation impossible from the available figures alone.
How to evaluate it responsibly
- Open the current Duster model and price pages or ask an authorised dealer for the latest variant list.
- Record the engine, transmission, seating, boot measurement and standard equipment for the exact version.
- Get an itemised city-specific on-road quote, including registration, insurance and taxes.
- Compare that version with Kiger and Triber on the features you actually need, rather than comparing only ₹10,49,000 with their entry prices.
Until those checks are complete, treat New Duster as a model that qualifies for the shortlist on entry price, not as a fully ranked recommendation. Do not infer its performance, safety rating, fuel economy or equipment from the older Duster or from another market.
Triber or Kiger: the closest decision in this list
| Question | Triber | Kiger |
|---|---|---|
| How many seats? | Renault describes a configurable five-to-seven-seat layout | Five-seat SUV |
| What is the main advantage? | Removable or foldable third row and more than 100 seating configurations | SUV format, 205 mm stated ground clearance and 405 L stated boot space |
| Entry price in the cited snapshot | ₹5,80,875 ex-showroom | ₹5,81,000 ex-showroom |
| Power information available | 72 PS/96 Nm non-turbo and 100 PS/180 Nm turbo listed by Renault | 72 PS and 100 PS petrol choices listed by Renault |
| Best initial test | Install the third row, then fold or remove it and load your luggage | Check rear-seat comfort, visibility, boot use and the exact gearbox |
Choose Triber if carrying extra passengers is a recurring possibility. Choose Kiger if five seats are enough and the SUV driving position, ground clearance and boot specification matter more. A showroom walk-around cannot replace trying both cars with your family and normal luggage.

Daily five-seat SUV use
Kiger is the direct fit. Its official page lists five seats, 205 mm ground clearance and 405 L boot space, plus 72 PS and 100 PS petrol choices and three transmissions. Verify the exact combination in the version you select.
A larger, newer SUV to investigate
New Duster qualifies by the displayed ₹10,49,000 starting price, but it needs a fresh variant and specification check before you can compare it fairly with the other three.
How to choose the right variant without comparing misleading prices
- Write down the non-negotiables. State whether you need five or seven seats, a manual or automated gearbox, a large boot, high ground clearance or a particular infotainment or convenience feature.
- Pick the model before the trim. Do not choose a base Kiger because it is close to a Triber price if your actual requirement is a removable third row, and do not choose Triber if you will never use its seating flexibility.
- Match powertrain and transmission. Renault lists different power outputs and gearbox selections across these cars. Confirm availability for the exact version; a model-level brochure statement is not proof that every trim has every combination.
- Compare standard equipment line by line. Use the current Renault configurator or price page for the selected city. The Kwid equipment cited here, for example, is displayed for the Evolution variant and should not be applied to all versions.
- Convert both cars to the same on-road basis. Request registration, insurance, taxes, dealer charges and optional items separately. Compare like-for-like quotes, not one ex-showroom figure against another car’s on-road total.
- Test the practical requirement. Carry child seats, adults, suitcases or whatever determines your purchase. In Triber, test each seating configuration; in Kiger, test rear-seat and boot use with the load you normally carry.
What the available evidence does not establish
The cited Renault pages provide manufacturer prices, specifications and claims, but they do not establish independent real-world fuel economy, ride quality, reliability rankings, owner-survey results, crash-test rankings or a head-to-head road-test winner. The 21 km/l Triber figure is certified and manufacturer reported. Kiger’s 205 mm clearance and 405 L boot figure, and Triber’s seating and cargo claims, are likewise official specifications. Use an independent test or your own evaluation if one of those factors decides the purchase, and do not treat a brochure number as a guarantee of your result.
A practical price-check routine before booking
- Note the date: the figures in this guide reflect Renault India pages retrieved on 13 October 2026.
- Open Renault’s current city-wise price page and select the city where the vehicle will be registered.
- Check the model’s current variant page: Triber, Kiger or the Kwid configurator. For New Duster, request the latest model-specific details because the cited range page does not show the full comparison.
- Ask for a written quote naming the variant, engine, transmission, colour, registration jurisdiction, insurance cover and every optional charge.
- Check whether an offer is conditional, expires on a stated date or changes the finance, exchange or insurance assumptions.
- Recalculate the total if you change variant, registration location or insurance provider; then confirm the final price on the purchase date.
Bottom line
There is no single best Renault under ₹25 lakh for every Indian buyer. Kwid is the lowest listed entry point, Triber is the flexible family specialist, Kiger is the five-seat SUV choice, and New Duster is an in-budget model that still requires a current detailed quote. Use the model that matches your seating and body-style need, then verify the exact trim and on-road total in your city before committing.
