Renault India’s current range has three cars with starting ex-showroom prices below ₹8 lakh in selected city limits: the Kwid at ₹4,52,900, Triber at ₹5,80,875 and Kiger at ₹5,81,000. The New Duster starts at ₹10,49,000, so it is outside this budget. These are manufacturer-listed ex-showroom prices accessed on 13 October 2026—not on-road prices. Local taxes and other purchase costs apply, and Renault says prices can change.
The right choice depends less on the lowest entry price than on your seating, transmission and usage needs. Kwid is the low-cost five-seat option, Triber is the only seven-seat-capable choice, and Kiger offers the broadest choice of petrol engines and automatic transmissions. Use the prices below to shortlist a car, then request a variant-specific, city-level on-road quotation before paying a booking amount.

Renault cars under ₹8 lakh: current starting prices
Renault India’s range listing gives the following starting ex-showroom prices for selected city limits (accessed 13 October 2026):
| Model | Starting ex-showroom price | Seats or layout | What it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Renault Kwid | ₹4,52,900 | Five seats | Lowest-cost urban hatchback use |
| Renault Triber | ₹5,80,875 | Five to seven seats; removable third row | Families needing occasional extra seating and flexible cargo space |
| Renault Kiger | ₹5,81,000 | Five seats | Buyers wanting a compact SUV-style body and more powertrain choices |
| New Renault Duster | ₹10,49,000 | Outside this budget comparison | Not eligible for an ₹8 lakh starting-price shortlist |
Renault labels these figures as ex-showroom for selected city limits. The invoice in your city can be higher after road tax, registration, insurance, handling or other applicable charges. Because the listed prices are a current page snapshot rather than a guaranteed quotation, confirm the exact amount and availability with a Renault dealer before purchase.

What the price differences actually mean
The Kwid’s listed starting price is ₹1,27,975 below the Triber’s, while the Triber and Kiger differ by only ₹125 at their entry points. That tiny Triber–Kiger gap does not make them interchangeable: one is built around removable third-row seating and the other is a five-seat model with a wider listed powertrain choice. The meaningful comparison is the configuration you can actually buy, not just the first number in the range table.
Within the Triber line-up, Techno at ₹7,44,120 leaves ₹55,880 below the ₹8 lakh ex-showroom mark. Emotion at ₹8,05,350 is ₹5,350 over it before registration, insurance or any accessory. These are arithmetic differences on Renault’s listed ex-showroom prices; they do not predict your final invoice or imply that a similarly priced Kiger version has the same equipment.
Which Renault should you choose?
Choose the Kwid when the purchase price matters most
At ₹4,52,900, the Kwid has the lowest listed entry price in Renault’s range. It is a five-seat car, so it does not provide the Triber’s removable third-row flexibility. It is therefore most logical for a buyer whose regular trips involve up to five occupants and who wants to keep the initial vehicle price as low as possible.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The Kwid’s listed standard warranty is three years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first, according to Renault India’s current price page (accessed 13 October 2026). Treat that as the manufacturer’s stated coverage term; ask the dealer to explain exclusions, scheduled-service requirements and any optional extension before signing.
Before choosing the base Kwid, check whether the version includes the equipment you consider essential. A low entry price can require a higher trim, an accessory or a different transmission to meet your needs. Ask for a written version specification and an itemised quote rather than relying on a model-level brochure.
Choose the Triber when occasional seven-seat capacity is essential
The Triber starts at ₹5,80,875, only slightly above the Kwid’s starting price, but its defining feature is its five-to-seven-seat layout. Renault describes the third-row seats as removable and the cabin as having multiple seating configurations. That lets an owner alternate between carrying more people and freeing space for luggage, rather than buying a permanently larger vehicle.
Three Triber versions are listed below ₹8 lakh: Authentic at ₹5,80,875, Evolution at ₹6,73,605 and Techno at ₹7,44,120. Emotion is ₹8,05,350, which is above the stated ceiling even before on-road charges. If your budget is a hard ₹8 lakh on-road limit rather than an ex-showroom filter, even Techno may not fit; obtain a city quote before selecting a version.

The five-seat configuration may be the practical everyday setting, while the seven-seat arrangement may be reserved for occasional family trips.
Choose the Kiger when transmission and engine choice matter
The Kiger starts at ₹5,81,000 and remains below the ₹8 lakh threshold at its entry point. Renault’s Kiger configurator lists four powertrain/transmission combinations: a 1.0-litre manual, 1.0-litre AMT, 1.0-litre turbo manual and 1.0-litre turbo CVT. The configurator’s range of choices does not mean every combination costs less than ₹8 lakh. Price the exact engine, gearbox and version together.

It is also very quick to remove, there is a small bump on the coaster, pinch it and you can easily remove the coaster. - 100% Satisfaction: Our products have quality assurance, if you have questions or are not satisfied after receiving the product, don't worry, please contact us as soon as possible, we provide after-sales service.
Kiger is a five-seat model, so compare it with the five-seat Kwid for occupancy and with the Triber for flexibility. The compact-SUV format may be attractive if you prefer a higher-riding body style, but the available evidence here does not establish ride quality, fuel economy, acceleration or safety-test results. Make those decisions using a physical inspection, a test drive and independently verified specifications for the exact version.
An automatic requirement can change the budget quickly. Tell the salesperson whether you want an AMT or a CVT, since those are different transmissions with different specifications and pricing. Do not accept a quote described only as “automatic Kiger”; the order should identify the engine, gearbox and trim.

Triber versions: what fits below the ceiling
| Triber version | Renault-listed ex-showroom price | Under ₹8 lakh on the listed price? | Budget implication |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentic | ₹5,80,875 | Yes | Leaves the largest gap for registration, insurance and selected options, subject to city charges |
| Evolution | ₹6,73,605 | Yes | Higher listed price; verify the resulting on-road total |
| Techno | ₹7,44,120 | Yes, ex-showroom | Only ₹55,880 below ₹8 lakh before local taxes and other costs |
| Emotion | ₹8,05,350 | No | Exceeds the ceiling by ₹5,350 before any on-road charges |
The prices above come from Renault India’s Triber model page accessed 13 October 2026. Equipment differs by version, so do not assume that a higher-priced trim is automatically the best value for your use. Ask for the version’s complete equipment list and compare the items you will actually use—such as seating configuration, infotainment, safety equipment, climate controls and convenience features—rather than comparing trim names alone.
If your ceiling is strict, treat Emotion as disqualified at the first step. For Techno, the remaining ₹55,880 is not a reserve that can safely absorb every city charge; registration, insurance and accessories can exceed it. Authentic and Evolution provide more headroom, but only a dealer’s itemised quotation can show whether either stays within your final limit.
How the three cars differ in practical use
Passenger capacity and flexibility
- Kwid: five seats, with no seven-seat configuration established in Renault’s listed specifications.
- Triber: five-to-seven seats, with removable third-row seats and multiple seating configurations. This is the only model in this shortlist designed around changing passenger and cargo needs.
- Kiger: five seats. It may suit a family that does not need a third row but wants the Kiger’s available powertrain combinations.
Count the people who travel together on a normal week, not only during an annual holiday. If seven people will regularly travel, inspect the third-row access and luggage space with all seats installed. If the extra seats are occasional, test how quickly they can be removed or reconfigured and where they can be stored.
Powertrain and transmission decisions
The Kiger configurator explicitly lists manual, AMT, turbo-manual and turbo-CVT combinations around its 1.0-litre engines. An AMT automates clutch operation but is mechanically different from a CVT; a turbocharged engine is also not equivalent to the naturally aspirated 1.0-litre option. Renault’s listed starting price is not a price for all four combinations.

Renault’s pages do not establish equivalent engine-and-gearbox details for every Kwid or Triber version in this comparison. For those cars, request the exact technical sheet for the version you are considering. Do not infer equipment, output, mileage or gearbox availability from the model’s starting price.
Equipment by version
Renault’s Triber page lists different equipment by version. That means a comparison based only on the model’s headline price can be misleading: the cheapest version may omit an item you consider essential, while a higher version can push the on-road total beyond your limit. Make a short checklist before visiting a dealer:
- Number and type of airbags and other safety equipment listed for the exact version
- Seat configuration and whether the third row is included, removable or optional
- Infotainment, camera and connectivity features
- Air-conditioning controls and rear-seat ventilation arrangements
- Wheel, lighting and convenience differences between versions
- Availability of the engine and transmission you want
Confirm each item on the written quotation or official version specification. Sales explanations can cover a model generally rather than the specific trim being invoiced.

Questions to answer before selecting a model
Will the car carry my family every day?
List the usual occupants, child-seat requirements and luggage carried on weekdays. A five-seat Kiger or Kwid may be simpler if a third row will never be used. Conversely, a Triber’s removable seats can be valuable when the extra passengers are occasional but genuine. Do not count a nominal seat without checking access and usable luggage space.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Is the ₹8 lakh limit for the car or the complete purchase?
Write the answer on your comparison sheet. An ex-showroom limit allows you to compare Renault’s published starting figures. An on-road limit must also account for registration, road tax, insurance, statutory charges and any selected accessories. If the latter is your rule, start with a buffer and do not spend the entire ceiling on the vehicle price.
Which features are non-negotiable?
Separate essentials from preferences before comparing versions. For example, you might require a particular gearbox, seating arrangement, camera or connectivity feature. Mark each item against the exact trim. This avoids paying for a higher version merely because a salesperson says it is “fully loaded,” and it prevents ordering a cheaper version that lacks an essential feature.
Can I inspect and service the car locally?
Use Renault’s official dealer resources to identify a convenient outlet and ask about test-drive availability, servicing arrangements and delivery timing. The manufacturer also provides finance and trade-in resources; use them as purchase tools, but compare the complete cost and terms rather than focusing only on a monthly instalment. The listed prices do not guarantee stock in a particular city.
Ex-showroom versus on-road: keep the budget definition clear
An ₹8 lakh ex-showroom ceiling and an ₹8 lakh on-road ceiling are different filters. Renault’s listed figures are ex-showroom for selected city limits. Your on-road amount can include, depending on local rules and the transaction, registration and road tax, insurance, statutory charges, accessories and dealer-selected items. Renault’s pages do not establish city-level on-road totals.
- Tell the dealer your registration city and whether ₹8 lakh means ex-showroom or the final on-road amount.
- Request a written, itemised quotation for the exact model, version, engine and transmission.
- Check that the base vehicle price, taxes, insurance, registration and optional accessories are separated.
- Remove unwanted accessories and compare insurance quotes where legally and practically appropriate.
- Recheck the quotation immediately before payment because Renault states that prices can change.
For a strict ₹8 lakh on-road budget, begin with the Kwid or the lower Triber versions rather than assuming the ₹7,44,120 Triber Techno will fit. For an ₹8 lakh ex-showroom search, all three models’ listed starting versions qualify, while the Triber Emotion does not.
A step-by-step shortlist method
Step 1: Set the budget in writing
Write “₹8 lakh ex-showroom” or “₹8 lakh on-road” at the top of your comparison. Include a separate allowance for insurance, registration and any accessories if the limit is on-road. This prevents a low headline price from becoming an unaffordable final invoice.
Step 2: Eliminate cars that cannot carry your passengers
Choose between five-seat cars and the Triber’s five-to-seven-seat layout. If you need seven seats even occasionally, arrange a Triber inspection with the third row installed. If you never need more than five seats, compare the Kwid and Kiger on price, driving position, powertrain and equipment instead of paying for unused seating flexibility.
Step 3: Select the required gearbox
State whether you need a manual, AMT or CVT before comparing Kiger prices. Renault lists all four Kiger combinations in its configurator, but the qualifying price must be checked for the exact combination. Do not use the Kiger’s ₹5,81,000 starting figure as a proxy for a turbo-CVT quote.

- Storage and Filling in One: Differ from traditional single-function gap fillers, gap filler for car incorporates storage function, offers you the convenience of storing phones and various other items, so that you can access them at any time while driving
- Avoid Items Slipping: With the bumps and vibrations of the car, phones, keys may fall into the seat crevices, which is difficult to pick up, and distracts the driver's attention. Car gap seat filler fills gaps seamlessly to create an effective barrier
- Easy to Install: Car side seat gap filler is easy to install, simply insert it into the gap between the seat and the center console, gap seat filler for car can fit tightly without affecting the normal adjustment of the seat and the use of the seat belt
- Premium Material: Crafted from premium EVA material, our car seat side gap filler boasts a combination of wear-resistant, softness&durability. Maintenance is effortless, simply rinse and wipe to quickly clean the dust and debris in corners and crevices
Step 4: Compare like-for-like equipment
Use the official version equipment list for the Kwid, Triber or Kiger variant under consideration. Mark each feature as required, useful or unnecessary. This gives you a defensible reason to move up a trim—or to stay with the cheaper version.
Step 5: Get a dealer quote and verify availability
Ask for the current price in your city, estimated delivery timing, manufacturing month and the complete on-road breakup. Prices and stock can change after the manufacturer page was accessed, so treat the published figures as a shortlist, not a reservation guarantee.
Step 6: Compare the final offers on one sheet
Put competing quotations side by side with identical headings: vehicle price, applicable taxes, registration, insurance, accessories, discounts, finance charges and total payable. A dealer may present a lower headline price while adding accessories or insurance elsewhere in the sheet. Request clarification for every unexplained line and retain the final written quote.

Warranty and service questions
The Kwid page states a standard warranty of three years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first. Ask whether the same coverage applies to the exact version you are buying, what maintenance conditions apply and whether an extended warranty is available. Do not assume a warranty term for Triber or Kiger from the Kwid page; request their written warranty details.
Test-drive conditions
Drive the exact engine and gearbox combination you intend to buy. During the drive, check pedal reach, visibility, clutch or automatic response, rear-seat access and luggage practicality. For Triber, repeat the inspection with the third row folded and removed if the version permits it. A test drive can reveal suitability issues that a price table cannot, but it does not replace checking official specifications and the purchase contract.
Accessories and fitment
Renault’s Triber configurator lists printed carpet mats as an accessory. If you add them—or any accessory—confirm compatibility with the precise Triber version and model year, and ensure the item is separately itemised on the quotation. The information available does not verify a particular retailer, price or universal fitment. Do not assume an online listing labelled for “Triber” fits every version without checking.
Offers, exchange and finance
Renault’s official pages include finance, trade-in and dealer resources, but a displayed promotion may have a limited period or state exclusions. Ask the dealer to put the offer, eligibility conditions, exchange valuation and finance fees in writing. Compare the total repayment, down payment and processing costs, not only the advertised monthly figure. Treat a discount as provisional until it appears on the final quotation.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Calling ex-showroom prices on-road: The three qualifying starting prices are not final registration or insurance totals.
- Assuming every Kiger powertrain is under ₹8 lakh: Renault lists several combinations, but each must be priced separately.
- Treating Triber Emotion as a qualifying trim: Its listed ₹8,05,350 ex-showroom price is already above the ceiling.
- Comparing trim names instead of equipment: Triber equipment differs by version; check the written list.
- Using a stale offer: Promotions and state eligibility can change. Verify any current offer with a local dealer rather than relying on an old advertisement.
- Assuming model-level claims apply to every version: Engine, gearbox, equipment and warranty details should be confirmed for the exact vehicle on the order.
- Ignoring the registration location: A quote for one city may not apply where you will register the car.
- Booking before checking the final breakup: Confirm accessories, insurance, taxes, delivery charges and cancellation terms before paying.
Bottom-line recommendations by buyer type
| Your priority | Start with | Why | What to verify next |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lowest listed purchase price | Kwid | ₹4,52,900 starting ex-showroom price | City on-road total, exact equipment and warranty terms |
| Occasional seven-seat use | Triber Authentic or Evolution | Five-to-seven-seat layout and removable third row; both listed below ₹8 lakh ex-showroom | Third-row practicality, version equipment and on-road quote |
| More trim headroom while staying below ₹8 lakh ex-showroom | Triber Techno | Listed at ₹7,44,120, before local charges | Whether the city on-road total remains affordable |
| Choice of automatic or turbo combinations | Kiger | Configurator lists 1.0-litre manual, AMT, turbo manual and turbo CVT options | Price and availability of the specific combination |
| New Duster | Not part of this shortlist | ₹10,49,000 starting ex-showroom price exceeds ₹8 lakh | Use a different budget if considering it |
There is no evidence here to declare one of these cars universally “best.” The defensible choice is the model whose seating, powertrain and equipment match your use while the dealer’s current, itemised on-road quote stays within your actual budget.
