Which powerful KTM models have a US availability announcement?
KTM North America reports that the 2026 990 Super Duke R and 1390 Super Duke R EVO are in dealers now. The 1390 Super Duke R EVO is a naked bike; it is not the 1390 Super Duke GT sport-tourer. To check whether a particular motorcycle is physically available, contact an authorized KTM dealer and confirm current inventory.
KTM also published a North America production update for two 1390 Super Adventure models. It forecast early 2026 production for the 1390 Super Adventure R and early spring 2026 production for the 1390 Super Adventure S EVO. KTM said these models had shifted from the 2025 to the 2026 model year. Those dates describe planned production starts, not confirmed current dealer stock.
What is delayed, and what does KTM say about timing?
KTM’s international production update says the 1390 Super Duke GT is “PRODUCTION DELAYED TO 2027.” That is a production schedule statement. It does not confirm that the GT will be sold in the United States, give a US delivery date, or announce a cancellation.

KTM has not identified a specific technical, regulatory, manufacturing, or market cause for the GT delay in the cited update. In a separate North America production update covering schedule changes, KTM executive Rainer Neumeister said: “We are committed to delivering the best possible experience for our riders. This decision ensures that every model will be fully ready to deliver on the high standards our customers expect.” The statement describes the schedule revision generally; it does not attribute the GT delay to a particular cause.

Do US emissions rules explain the delay?
Not on the available evidence. The EPA says highway motorcycles are regulated under Section 202 of the Clean Air Act, with standards addressing air pollutants including smog-forming emissions and soot. That provides regulatory context, but no cited source connects EPA certification, California certification, or emissions engineering to the 1390 Super Duke GT’s production delay. It would be speculation to present emissions rules as the cause.

Are the published power figures US specifications?
KTM India’s product page lists the 1390 Super Duke R at 190 HP and 145 Nm and identifies Euro 5+ homologation. Those are figures published on KTM India’s page; they should not be treated as US-certified specifications. The cited North American availability announcement does not provide comparable power figures.

- For the 990 Super Duke R or 1390 Super Duke R EVO, ask an authorized KTM dealer about current stock and the specific model year.
