Mercedes-AMG’s GT range page describes it as using an electrified 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine with an integrated starter-generator. The drivetrain confirmation is specific to the German listing; it should not be treated as a guarantee that every 2025 GT 43 sold in every market had identical specifications.
Germany-page specifications list 310 kW, plus up to 10 kW from the integrated starter-generator, 500 Nm of torque, and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 4.6 seconds. The listed EU kerb weight is 1,790 kg. These are manufacturer product specifications on Mercedes-Benz Germany’s current GT 43 listing, retrieved in 2026, rather than independently measured results or universal 2025 figures.

Why the SL 43 is not a confirmed entry
Mercedes-Benz USA’s lineup includes the AMG SL 43 Roadster, and search results for 2025 SL brochure and price-list material also surfaced an SL 43 listing. But a model appearing in a lineup or sales document does not establish its drivetrain. The available material does not provide enough market- and model-year-specific drivetrain detail to confirm the SL 43 as RWD for 2025, so it belongs in the unverified category rather than a confirmed list.

Do not mistake rear-biased all-wheel drive for RWD
Some AMG models may emphasize rear-axle hardware or distribute power in ways that feel rear-biased, but those characteristics do not make them rear-wheel drive. The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-Door reference guide describes its system as fully variable all-wheel drive, despite the car’s rear-axle electric motor. Its drivetrain classification remains AWD.
The Mercedes-AMG GT range page also lists the GT 55 4MATIC+, GT 63 4MATIC+, and GT 63 S E Performance alongside the GT 43. The 4MATIC+ names identify all-wheel-drive variants; rear-axle behavior or a drive mode that sends power rearward is not proof of RWD.

Availability is market-specific. The strongest direct drivetrain evidence here is a German GT 43 specification, while the US lineup establishes that Mercedes-Benz listed the GT 43 and SL 43 in that market. Neither source proves what was on sale in every country throughout calendar 2025, and the US lineup page alone is not a drivetrain reference.

The available official sources do not publish a sourced count of all rear-wheel-drive Mercedes-AMG models on sale in 2025. The defensible answer is therefore one confirmed model in the evidence—not a claim that the GT 43 was the only RWD AMG worldwide, or that a complete global count is known.
