X-Wedge’s Ranger RX2000 and Rover RL2000 are Chinese-built cruisers designed around a reported 1,976cc V-twin and styling compared with Harley-Davidson. The published figures are specifications reported at the brand’s 2023 debut—not independent test results—and they do not establish how the bikes perform, how reliable they are, or whether buyers can get them outside China.
What X-Wedge unveiled
At China’s Moexpo trade fair in September 2023, Chongqing-based Huansong Industrial Group debuted the X-Wedge brand with five motorcycles, according to RideApart reporting republished by Mega.mu. Four were described as using the same large V-twin.
- Ranger RX2000: a cruiser whose styling was described as borrowing cues from Harley-Davidson.
- Rover RL2000: based on the RX2000 and equipped as a full-dresser, according to the report.
- Voyager VS2000: a sidecar trike.
- Vanguard VT2000: a reverse trike.
- Walker WR1000: the fifth model, reported to use a smaller 975cc V-twin.
The reported X-Wedge engine figures are 1,976cc displacement, 108mm bore and stroke, 9.75:1 compression, 103 hp at 5,000 rpm, and 110 lb-ft (158 Nm) at 3,000 rpm. The report says the engine was derived from S&S’s X-Wedge design; that is a secondary-source account, not confirmation here of a licensing or supply arrangement.
How the claimed engine compares with Harley’s Breakout
For a like-for-like reference point, Gear Patrol’s August 25, 2026 report gives the 2026 Harley-Davidson Breakout a 1,923cc Milwaukee-Eight 117 Custom powertrain, with reported output of 104 hp and 126 lb-ft at 3,000 rpm. The X-Wedge figure is 53cc larger, while the reported Harley torque figure is higher. Those numbers are not a road test: the cited reports do not establish that the motorcycles were measured under comparable conditions.

These are not the same bikes as GWM’s Souo tourers
China’s high-capacity motorcycle launches also include Great Wall Motor’s Souo brand, but the S2000 GL and ST are touring motorcycles, not X-Wedge cruisers. FMOTOS TECH’s May 20, 2024 launch story reports a 2,000cc eight-cylinder engine with DOHC and an eight-speed DCT, and frames the models as rivals to Honda’s Gold Wing. It describes the GL as the Gold Wing Tour-style version and the ST as the version with side cases. These are specifications and comparisons from that publication, not manufacturer documentation or evidence that the Souos compete directly with Harley cruisers.

A 2,000cc cruiser is not a new category
Engine size alone does not make the X-Wedge bikes a wholly new kind of motorcycle. Kawasaki’s 2004 annual report records the introduction of the Vulcan 2000, a cruiser with a 2,000cc V-twin. The X-Wedge story is better understood as a new Chinese brand entering an established large-cruiser format, with reported Harley-influenced styling and a notably large V-twin.

The published specifications make the Ranger RX2000 a clear point of comparison with large Harley-Davidson cruisers, but they are not enough to show that it can challenge Harley in the ways that matter to riders. The cited X-Wedge launch report said domestic pricing and availability had not been announced and international distribution was unknown at that time. That is a statement about the situation reported in 2023, not verified availability in 2026.

The cited source set contains no independent X-Wedge road test or evidence on reliability, sales, dealer coverage, servicing, or parts supply. Without those details, claims of real-world superiority—or of an established market threat—go beyond what the available reporting supports.
