The Dodge Demon cop car is not a real police vehicle. It is a computer-made police-livery rendering of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, credited to artist Aksyonov Nikita. The production Demon was real; the patrol-car version existed as an image, not as a law-enforcement edition.
Is the Dodge Demon cop car real?
No. The police-car images were renderings made with Photoshop, not photographs of a production vehicle or an actual police department’s car. The Drive’s 2017 report credits the concept to Aksyonov Nikita and describes it as a computer creation. Carsales, reporting on May 16, 2017, also identifies the images as renderings and says they were unlikely to appear on the road.
So “Dodge Demon cop car” describes the imagined livery, not a police package, deployed patrol car, or separate model offered by Dodge.
What car is shown in the rendering?
The concept is based on the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, a limited-edition model planned for a single model year. Dodge’s 2017 overview listed planned production of 3,000 cars for the United States and 300 for Canada; those were announced production figures, not a current inventory count.

The Demon was built around drag-strip performance, not police service. Dodge’s 2017 overview gave manufacturer figures of 0–60 mph in 2.3 seconds and a quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph. Those are specifications for the production car, not test results for the rendered police concept.
How much horsepower did the production Demon have?
The figure depends on the fuel. Stellantis North America stated in 2017 that the Demon produced 840 hp on 100-octane unleaded fuel and 808 hp on 91-octane premium unleaded fuel. The 840-hp number should not be quoted without its 100-octane condition.

How does the concept compare with real police vehicles?
The rendering borrows the visual language of a police car, but the sources do not establish that a Demon was used in police service. In its 2017 coverage, The Drive distinguished the concept from FCA’s then-listed law-enforcement offerings: the Dodge Charger Pursuit, Ram 1500 Special Service, and Dodge Durango Special Service. That is a historical list, not a statement of what is available to police departments today.

Why the real Demon’s numbers do not make the cop car real
The production Demon’s headline acceleration and horsepower figures help explain why the police-livery image catches the eye, but they belong to the road-going 2018 car. Dodge’s specifications do not describe a police conversion, and the rendering supplies no measured performance data of its own. The concept is best understood as a visual what-if: an extreme drag-focused Challenger dressed as a patrol car.
