Honda labels its online figures as indicative ex-showroom Delhi prices, says they vary by location and invoice date, and advises buyers to obtain a current quote from an authorised dealer.
The shortlist is therefore an Amaze comparison. The City, Elevate and ZR-V start above this budget on Honda’s current lineup page. Variant names, stock and offers can change, so use the figures below as a shortlist checked on October 13, 2026, then confirm the exact car and on-road total before paying a booking amount.

Honda cars currently listed below ₹8 lakh
Honda Cars India’s official lineup page, checked on October 13, 2026, shows only two nameplate entries under the ₹8 lakh ceiling. Both are Amaze variants from different generations. The figures are starting prices displayed by Honda; they are not claims that every grade or transmission remains below the threshold.

At the displayed starting prices, the New Amaze leaves ₹34,600 before the ₹8 lakh ex-showroom limit, while the 2nd Gen listing leaves ₹1,02,300. Those amounts are only headroom against the displayed base price; registration, insurance, taxes, accessories and any location-specific charges can take the final payable amount above ₹8 lakh.

What “under ₹8 lakh” means in this list
These are ex-showroom Delhi starting prices
Honda’s search page labels its prices ex-showroom Delhi. Ex-showroom is the manufacturer-dealer vehicle price before the costs needed to put the car on the road. Your invoice can include state registration and road tax, insurance, statutory fees, optional accessories and dealer-installed items. Because those charges differ by state and city, a car that appears below ₹8 lakh on the website is not automatically an ₹8 lakh on-road purchase.
The online figure is indicative
Honda’s booking and disclaimer information says online prices are indicative, vary by location and are subject to the price applicable on the invoice. Offers are also specific to variant, grade and location. Treat the web figure as a screening price, not a locked quotation. Ask for a written quotation for the exact variant, transmission, colour and registration location.
Freshness matters
The shortlist reflects the lineup and price-check pages viewed on October 13, 2026. Honda’s recommended validity window for this information is seven days, through October 20, 2026. Recheck the lineup and dealer quote if you are buying later, because price revisions, stock changes and local offers can alter eligibility.
New Amaze: the newer listing at ₹7,65,400
The New Amaze is the higher-priced of the two qualifying entries, with Honda currently displaying a starting price of ₹7,65,400. It is the logical first enquiry for a buyer who wants the newer listing and can keep the budget for the ex-showroom amount, while recognising that the current page does not provide enough information to identify the exact base grade, equipment or transmission from the starting figure alone.

Why you should request the variant code
Honda’s September 22, 2025 price announcement used different names and prices for the then-current Amaze range: 3rd Gen V MT at ₹7,40,800, V CVT at ₹8,55,100 and ZX CVT at ₹9,99,900, all ex-showroom Delhi at that time. Those figures are historical and do not replace the current lineup price. The mismatch is a warning to ask a dealer to write the present model generation, grade, engine, transmission and manufacturing year on the quotation.
Amaze 2nd Gen: the lower entry price at ₹6,97,700
The Amaze 2nd Gen has the lowest Honda entry price in this comparison: ₹6,97,700 on the current lineup page. Honda’s price-search page associates that amount with the 1.2-litre E MT i-VTEC basis. In practical terms, the displayed figure is tied to an entry-level manual configuration; it should not be read as evidence that every 2nd Gen grade or an automatic transmission costs less than ₹8 lakh.
Historical transmission context
Honda’s September 22, 2025 release listed the Amaze 2nd Gen S MT at ₹6,97,700 and the S CVT at ₹7,79,800, ex-showroom Delhi. That release is a dated schedule, not a current 2026 quote. The current search page uses E MT nomenclature for the displayed amount, while the older release uses S MT, so variant naming has changed or is being presented differently. Confirm the current grade and stock with the dealer rather than assuming the old S designation remains on sale.
Who should shortlist it
- Buyers whose first priority is the lowest published Honda entry price.
- Shoppers comfortable verifying that the available car is a manual and that its model year and equipment match their needs.

The ₹67,700 difference between the two current starting displays is meaningful only at the entry-price level. It does not establish that the New Amaze has a particular feature advantage, that the 2nd Gen is cheaper to own, or that either base car is better for your use. Those conclusions require current variant specifications and an inspection of the actual stock vehicle.
Honda models that do not meet the ₹8 lakh ceiling

These calculations compare Honda’s listed starting amounts with ₹8 lakh before registration, insurance and other on-road costs. They are not suggestions that a discount will bring a model under the limit; any offer would need to be confirmed for a specific variant, location and date.
Historical Amaze prices from September 2025
Honda’s September 22, 2025 announcement is useful for understanding how grades and transmissions were priced at that time. It should not be merged with the current 2026 lineup figures.

The same release said the entire Amaze range then spanned ₹6,97,700 to ₹9,99,900. Honda described those as ex-showroom Delhi prices and quoted Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd.: “We are pleased to announce the new prices for our entire model lineup after GST Reforms 2025.” That statement and schedule belong to 2025; do not treat them as a current offer or price guarantee.
How to buy a Honda under ₹8 lakh without confusing ex-showroom and on-road
- Choose the target listing. Start with either the New Amaze or Amaze 2nd Gen shown on Honda’s current lineup. Record the displayed price and the date you checked it.
- Ask for the exact variant identity. Request the grade name, engine displacement, transmission, model year, manufacturing month and vehicle identification details available at quotation stage. This is especially important because the current 2nd Gen price-search entry uses E MT wording while the 2025 release used S MT.
- State your registration city. Registration tax, insurance and local charges depend on where the car will be registered. A Delhi ex-showroom figure cannot be used as your final invoice total in another state.
- Request an itemised written quote. It should separate ex-showroom price, registration or road-tax charges, insurance, mandatory fees, accessories, discounts and any handling or administrative line items. Ask which amounts are optional.
- Check the transmission against your budget. The historical 2025 schedule placed the 2nd Gen S CVT at ₹7,79,800, but that does not confirm current availability or leave room for on-road costs. Do not assume an automatic remains under your all-in ceiling.
- Verify stock and offer conditions. Honda says offers can vary by variant, grade and location. Get the offer validity, eligibility requirements and delivery timing in writing.
- Recalculate the on-road total. Add every compulsory charge before deciding whether the purchase fits your real budget. If ₹8 lakh is an on-road ceiling, the ex-showroom target must be materially lower than ₹8 lakh.
- Inspect before booking or delivery. Match the quoted variant and manufacturing details to the car offered. If the dealer substitutes a different grade, ask for a fresh quote rather than accepting the old starting price.
Decision guide: which listing fits your situation?
If the lowest entry price matters most
Begin with the Amaze 2nd Gen listing at ₹6,97,700. The remaining ex-showroom headroom is larger than with the New Amaze, but the current figure is tied to the 1.2-litre E MT i-VTEC basis on Honda’s search page. Confirm that this manual configuration is actually available in your city and calculate the complete on-road amount.
If you want the newer listing
Ask for the New Amaze quotation at ₹7,65,400 starting price. Because the current lineup page does not identify every detail of the base car, the dealer must confirm the exact grade and transmission. The smaller pre-tax margin means registration and insurance are more likely to push the final total far beyond an ₹8 lakh all-in budget.

What Honda’s price pages do not tell you
A starting-price page is enough to identify the shortlist, but not enough to rank the cars on attributes many buyers care about. The available evidence does not establish a current, like-for-like comparison of safety ratings, airbags, driver-assistance equipment, infotainment, boot capacity, dimensions, fuel economy, acceleration, warranty terms, service costs, resale value or long-term reliability for the two entries. Do not infer those outcomes from the generation label or price difference.
Before choosing, obtain the current brochure or variant sheet for the exact grade, inspect the safety and convenience equipment, and ask the dealer for applicable warranty and maintenance terms. If a specification is important to your decision, have it written into the quotation or confirmed in Honda’s current documentation.
New-car alternatives when ₹8 lakh is an on-road limit
If your ceiling includes registration and insurance rather than only the ex-showroom price, neither displayed starting price guarantees compliance. Ask the dealer to work backward from your total budget and identify the lowest available variant whose complete invoice fits. If no new Amaze quotation does, Honda’s official site also points shoppers toward an Auto Terrace pre-owned route. A used car should be treated as a separate purchase decision: check model year, condition, ownership history, inspection findings and the complete price instead of counting it as a new-car entry.

- Which discount or offer conditions apply to your location and variant?
- Are insurance, registration, accessories and other charges itemised separately?
- What model year and manufacturing date will be delivered?
- Does the final total fit your actual budget after every compulsory charge?

Honda’s current new-car shortlist below ₹8 lakh in India is limited to the Amaze nameplate: New Amaze from ₹7,65,400 and Amaze 2nd Gen from ₹6,97,700.
