Redtail’s RTC is the documented solar-and-heat match
The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) described Redtail Overland’s Rooftop Camper in a May 21, 2020 article as a hard-sided tent-and-camper hybrid. It reported three hard sides between an insulated carbon-fiber floor and roof, solar power rated up to 330 watts, a lithium battery bank up to 60 amp-hours, and a diesel heater. ACMA characterized it as “a state-of-the-art carbon fiber tent/camper hybrid offering the freedom of a rooftop tent with the security and amenities of a hard-sided camper.” Read ACMA’s 2020 description.
These are reported historical options, not a verified current equipment list. The figures do not establish that every RTC had the maximum solar or battery capacity, or that either was standard. Confirm the present model name, availability, and exact configuration with Redtail Overland before relying on those details.
What Redtail currently says about the Skyloft
Redtail’s current materials describe the Skyloft as a hard-sided carbon-fiber rooftop camper and climate-controlled bedroom with insulation, dedicated heat, and air conditioning. The company presents it as part of a complete expedition vehicle, rather than clearly establishing it as a standalone rooftop camper. The cited current pages do not specify the Skyloft’s solar capacity or identify its heater type.
